  1. @ - thank you so much how are you doing/feeling? I hope much better as the days pass. My MD insurance coordinator just called to say she's scheduling this peer to peer tomorrow as she wants this done asap. she said my insurance says my BMI is pretty low, but even though I make the requirements, she's being a tough one. She asked if I could help support ammunition with my weight loss attempts. I have the previous MD I saw who placed me on Qsymia earlier this year faxing over my dates and weight to her now as well as Jenny Craig from August last year thru the end of the year and how it shows I weighed even more and slowly lost some but still at a higher BMI. Hope it helps when he speaks to them. Thanks again for the kind words.
  2. Thank you for the positive thoughts, I am trying to remain optimistic. I too think the surgeon will be able to clear this up, but you never know. BCBS told me that "it's rare, dear, to get an approval for bariatric surgery on the first try". That's what she told me. My MDs office wants me to keep my appt on Thursday with the MD and keep moving forward. I'm hoping I can have happy tears the next time I post ????
  3. I am beyond upset to get that call yesterday. After 2.5 weeks of waiting for an answer, I was denied for failure to provide medical documentation; however, my Drs office supplied 26 pages. I called the insurance and explained how I called, called again and recalled to triple check what I needed to do with their requirements and I did every one of them. Long story short, they had the insurance rep pull the correspondence and she called me within 15 minutes. I put her on a 3 way call with my MDs office and had the letter of denial faxed and the phone number was given for a peer to peer review, which will involve the surgeon speaking to the physician of the insurance company. Don't know how much more of this I can withstand without getting sick over it. Today I woke up with some sort of rash/bumps now on part of my body that's itchy. I'm thinking I may have hives ????
  4. @@CHLOE12 I have been waiting 2 weeks this past Friday and still waiting....nerves in full swing, but keeping positive thoughts
  5. Good Luck @ Meljea!! I have BCBS IL and was at 2 weeks this past Friday, still haven't received a word. I also have heard good things and quick answers until mine actually lol. The longer I wait, the more nervous I get. Positive thoughts that everyone gets what they have set out for ????
  6. My insurance coordinator at the MD office was going to get me into the 4 hour class next Tuesday, but has to wait for the approval first. Getting down to the wire and it's not looking too promising for this month ????
  7. @@kayjay14 mine was submitted to insurance 2 weeks ago today and I still have not heard. I carry BCBS IL. The waiting is making me more nervous every day. ????
  8. I am convinced my insurance stinks. I just called and spoke with a rep who told me my was received on the 28th but not filed until the 4th. She went on to say that it looks like everyone is looking at it, but it's just sitting there with nothing being done. She's having it re routed to the Medical Review Unit as it shows it was in pre- determination but nothing done with it. No idea of time frame now.
  9. Oh that's wonderful to hear @Nikikins. Do you know when the weight starts tendril? I mean, are you to be weighing yourself already or is it way too soon? Starts to drop...sorry auto correct lol
  10. Here! Here! @ Toasty. Best of luck to you and I can't wait to hear "your" story and how well you succeed ????
  11. @ great attitude and you know all will get better...the hardest part is over. You mentioned in another comment that you and your MD had intentions of doing the surgery laparoscopically, is that in fact what you had?
  12. @@Cervidae how are YOU doing? Is every day getting better? Has the weight loss begun yet or when do you expect that to start? Hope all is well with your recovery!!
  13. @ I so appreciate your thoroughness in giving us all the details. I'm going to be honest here, the pain you are in scares the hell out of me!????. Did they give you anything for pain? Wait, I think I remember reading you're allergic to Vicodin so they gave you Tylenol w/ codeine, right? A close friend of mine who lives just doors away had this surgery in January and she said the pain was so very tolerable, Linda, that since you had a hysterectomy and kidney stones removed, this will be a piece of cake. I'm not so sure now. Lol. I am so glad to hear you are getting better slowly day by day and your positivity is one to look up to????. Good luck with the cinnamon on the applesauce today and soon on to your protein shakes. I look forward to following your progress and wish you all the best. The hard part is over ????
  14. @Nikikins. Welcome home!! I am so glad to hear that you are doing ok. I was really beginning to worry. Frightening with the bp being so high. Did you have high bp before? I have had a full hysterectomy a couple summers ago so this info is very helpful. I am currently In the insurance waiting for an approval stage and beyond stressed with anxiety over that. I am so glad yours is over and now officially on the losers bench!!????. Can you tell us how your hunger is? Are you hungry at all and what would you say is the hardest part so far? Thanks Nikikins so happy to hear you are ok!????
  15. @Nikikins...how are you doing? We are all awaiting to hear how you did and how smooth recovery is going. Please do respond and hope you are on the road to recovery????. I tried to find her by clicking on her pic, but it is blank...?? Anyone speak with her?
  16. I AM SOOOO HAPOY FOR YOU!!!We are all in your corner and cheering you on for a speedy and smooth recovery. Everything will be fine! This is YOUR time to shine!!! Please write when you feel up to it!!❤️????????????????????????????
  17. Got a phone call today from MDs office but only to move my last appt with the exercise specialist up from Oct 22nd to this Wednesday! They also ended up submitting me to insurance this past Friday. Anyone know how long to hear back from BCBS IL? I do not have a weight loss timeframe or supervised diet To follow pre surgery. I just started 7/28/2015 and all requirements will be done by this Wednesday. Thank you!!
  18. My insurance coordinator at the MDs office told me that my surgery probably wouldn't be until closer to early November that this is what the surgery scheduler is scheduling out for at this time. Evidently, he's pretty busy and goes to 2 different hospitals in the area.
  19. @@vhude that's awesome and probably the quickest one yet that I've heard of!! I sure hope I can be as lucky. Thanks everyone for the good wishes and thumbs up????
  20. My MDs office told me today that they submitted to insurance for my approval. I am so worried, scared, and anxious wrapped into one. This is going to be the longest wait ever!! Wish me luck that I too can jump on this losers bench with you all ????????????????????
  21. I love to hear all the success stories. Best of luck ladies and gents to a swift recovery. You all made it and are already sparkling! So envious of all of you...great job!????????????????????????????
  22. @ thanks so much for the update on what to expect! I so hope I am approved. I am fully consumed with this and all I think about every single day. I do not have a wait period with my insurance and am curious how long it will possibly take to get an answer. I have BCBS IL PPO.
