SassyNanny got a reaction from Strivingforbetter in OK Ladies, kinda embarrasing question for you all
Wow! Never heard of such a thing. I would be a little worried about having a surgeon who was doing something so archaic and unnecessary.

One of the tools that really has helped me was using SparkPeople.com
If I write down everything I put in my mouth it keeps me conscious and helps with mindless eating. It is free. I've lost 120 since surgery on 11/18/15.

That doesn't seem too slow. Hang in there! It's a journey not a rave.

SassyNanny got a reaction from grammyPammy in How does age affect success and weight loss rate
I'm 65 and just had my nine month surgiversary. I've lost 98 pounds, all my bloodwork was normal. I exercise at the Y twice a week and can eat anything with no problem. I avoid bread and Pasta most of the time but don't feel like I'm on a diet. I just have a new way of eating and eat so much less. I'm very happy and healthy.

SassyNanny got a reaction from finallyfreedom in Anyone lose more than 50lbs in this age group (over 60) ?
I'm 66, 18 months out and 120 down. 40 to go. Took a vacation from tracking and didn't lose anything for 3 months. Back on SparkPeople.com. Goal to get under 200 pounds by months day.
Dr told me to aim for 60 grams of daily Protein.
Sometimes I use Premier Protein drinks from costco.
Skinless chicken breasts have tons of protein. Greek yogurt too.

SassyNanny reacted to jess9395 in Choosing between Sleeve and Bypass help!
Yeah my sleeve kept me WAY under 1200 calories for the better part of a year, I didn't eat that many calories till close to goal.
The removal of the fundus which produces most of the hunger hormone ghrelin was the difference for me. No struggle no difficulty.
