    I am just so angry!

@@Jennifer Ostermeier hi there! i cannot tell from your profile when, and if, you have had surgery. i assume you have. how far post op are you? i have found myself feeling very irritable occasionally. it usually only lasts several hours, and has only happened a few times. i feel for you. the best advice i can give is this: when you feel very irritated, remember your body is changing a lot! hormones are bouncing everywhere. take it as just part of the weight loss journey and dont go nuts on your family. just walk away, go outside, take a deep breath and get it together. your family does not deserve to be jumped on. i say that because i am preaching to myself as much as you. i have lost my temper when i should not have. it is not permanent. try focusing on the weight you will lose and how great you will look and feel this too shall pass my friend. keep us posted!
  3. i was very similar to you i think. i knew when i set my mind to something, it is over i ate whatever the heck i wanted to eat right before my pre op liquid diet started (which i was deathly afraid of). i knew i would be doing liquids and then Clear Liquids 2 weeks post op and i didnt feel that bad food was going to hurt anything at that point. and guess what!!!! i am 4 months post op and have lost 45 pounds. eating all that before pre op did not kill my weight loss....which i knew it would not. i do have Pasta and bread occasionally. my doc said that carbonated drinks could stretch the sleeve so i have not had a coke since right before my pre op diet. hell, i survived that too! trust me when i say i was a cokeaholic. i lived them. it was my personal drug of choice first thing in the morning. every now and then i really, really want one and feel like i have to call my AA sponsor hahaha. i dont have an AA sponsor, but i feel like i know what it would feel like. i just tell myself, NO! and go on. cokes are the one thing i will not have again in my life. i still taste the occasional dessert. i will not do without any food the rest of my life that i want. i know it is alright to have something every once in a while. it is really weird how my body and mind just took to this whole new way of eating. it just comes naturally. i eat my Protein first, then if i am even the least bit hungry, i have a bite or two of veggies. my protein normally fills me up. actually, i have to push myself to finish my 3 or 4 ounces of meat that i have because i have to get 100 g of protein a day. i am sorry your family does not support you. you can find tons of support here. these people here have been a life saver to me. i learned more from here than anywhere. you are not going to fail at this, like i said, i think you and i are similar. you do not have to stop having cokes until you start your pre op diet. should you stop now? yes. but life will go on if you don't. just make up your mind to do what you are supposed to do once the pre op diet starts. i found following the new found diet, post surgery, was really pretty darn easy. it does not bother me in the least. even my husband, who never compliments me, says how impressed he is that i have actually following directions! you can do this and you WILL do this!!!!!!! i cannot wait to hear back from you after surgery :)
  4. i was only on abtibiotics because i had h pylori in my stomach, otherwise i would not have been given them.

    Cold Feet?

@@kyle.odom just today I was talking to a friend who is considering the sleeve. She is hesitant cuz most of your stomach is cut out and there are staples from now on. I kinda laughed and said, ya know, I knew that but I never really thought about it. It was just part of the whole process. Maybe I would have been more nervous if I had!!!!!!

  9. Just for the record, I was diagnosed as diabetic in June last year, with an A1C of 6.7. No, it is not horribly high, but still diabetic. My surgery was Nov. 2015 and in January 2016 I did bloodwork and my A1C reduced to 5.7, which is no longer considered diabetic, but pre diabetic. I had the sleeve. I was super pumped!
  10. i agree. it is YOUR decision. You can lose the weight with the sleeve.

    Dog experts...let's talk yorkie mixes!

@@CowgirlJane it is wonderful to see people here that love animals as much as i do. my husband and i are ready to move back out to the country again and we discuss being fosters for animals. i have grieved, very deeply, too, at the loss of a few of my animals. one of the worst times was 2014, the day after christmas. we had talked about getting a cat becasue we had seen a mouse. my son brought home a stray, and unbeknownst to us, was pregnant. she had 7 kittens, yes, 7. she couldnt just have 2. since the day they were born, i held, cuddled and fell in love with them. big mistake. when it came time to give them away, i cried and cried like a little baby. after doing this for the third one, my husband and i just decided we would be weird and keep the other 4. i just couldnt stand to give them away. i loved them so much. the big orange male cat was very special. he did funny things, like hear the freezer open, run up to it for us to throw him a piece of ice. or hear the kitchen sink Water running, jumping up there, sticking his paw in the water and licking his paw. that dreaded day i spoke of, my son came and woke us at 1:00 that morning and made us get up. i knew something was wrong. our nemo had been run over by a car. my son had seen him, came home, got a towel and wrapped him up, them came back home to wake us. i have never had a pet run over before. i dont remember ever hurting so bad, not even for a family member. i also have had to put two 18 year old dogs down, and my zoe, who was 15. we still have the other cats, now 2.5 years old and they are rotten. i really dread the day when something happens to them. ugh.

    Cold Feet?

@@kyle.odom i planned for months for this surgery.... my nutritionist visits, doctor visits, cardio clearance, sleep study, etc. but when the two week pre op diet came, sh*t becamne real hahaha. i knew i wanted it, but it just then hit me. i was getting nervous and started questioning. i never really doubted doing it, but it finally hit me, i guess, all that was happening and going to happen. i think it is very normal what you are feeling. i am one of the lucky ones who have not had a single issue. i have never been nauseated or sick. the surgery was very easy for me. i was an emotional eater and addicted to food. that is pretty much gone for me. every now and then, if i get stressed, the food thing comes back, but i talk myself down, and remind myself what is going on. i am actually shocked at how easy of a time i am having eating correctly. i suppose because i am not hungry all the time, and when i do get hungry, i eat Protein first. at this point, that pretty much fills me up. yes, i do have the occasional chip or ice cream, but it helps me in that i know those things that i dearly loved so very much do not have to disappear from my life completely. i think you will find after your sleeve you wont want the things you have always wanted.

    Dog experts...let's talk yorkie mixes!

i supposedly had a full blood toy poodle, zoe, that i bought. she looked more like a yorkie than a poodle. i am convinced she was a yorkie mix. she was a great dog. had to put her down a few months ago at the age of 15. she still played like a puppy. very happy, sweet, and loving. loved to be in our lap. of course she thought she ruled the roost. when we would visit my mom, zoe took control over the lab she has. she was the dominant one. very good natured dog zoe was.

    Help needed!

I drank it rather quickly and two hours later threw it all up. I did the cherry. Evidently it was too strong. I puked many times. I had to start over and did lemon over about three hours. I held it down and it did the job.

    Hormones or lack of

I am 50 and have been on hormones about 4 years. I did not have to stop them. I would have literally begged on my knees not to stop them had I needed to. I suggest you do the same. I also read stopping them then starting, or maybe just stopping, can cause hair loss.
  24. All of you are going to do great! The pre op diet just flat out sux. I cheated on mine too. Guess what!!!!!! I am about four months post op and I am successful!!!!!! Stick to the plan and this will work. After surgery you won't want to eat anyway right off the bat. The sleeve will do its job. I get hungry, but fill up really quickly. I love my sleeve!!!!!!!!!! I have to make myself eat to get in all my protein as before I had to make myself not eat.
