  1. The first thing I would check out are your insurance requirements. Read the policy and find out exactly what they require. I am not sure I have ever read of a doc giving pills to get you to qualify for surgery. i am a little confused. I understand the doc wants you to lose weight, thus the pills. Is she saying to lose X amount of weight and then you will qualify? Will you give more details?
  2. I had to do it the day before.

    Low grade fever

How many days post op are you? I always get low grade fever after every surgery. With the sleeve I got it both nights in the hospital. It made me feel horrible. Tylenol brought it down. Generally, they say not to worry about low grade fever after surgery.

    I have a secret - I really do have a blog

That is great!!!!!!! Wish I were going with you!!!!!!
  6. Actually, it is not just for those with fatty liver disease. My doctor requires it for every patient. I do not have fatty liver disease. As a matter of fact, my doc takes a biopsy of the liver while he is in there if he thinks it may have any kind of damage so that treatment, or just awareness, can be taken care of. Mine looked good so I did not have a biopsy.

    Anesthesia...

I remember them rolling me out of the room to head to surgery and being told I was about to get something to relax me in my IV. I was a goner right after that and next thing I know I was being rolled right in to my hospital room. I guess I woke up in recovery and don't remember it. I remember immediately feeling good .

    Post op day two, help

My docs goal for water for me was 30 oz. I struggled getting that. There is nothing wrong with sleeping. Your body is healing. Get your walking in..... Energy breeds energy. For goodness sake take your pain meds. Nothing wrong with that. I had not a single negative issue. I took my pain meds till I ran out. A lot of people refuse to take them. I'm not sure why but I sure as hell didn't want to hurt so I took them every four hours as prescribed. I did sleep a lot. I had no pain and felt really good.
  14. My insurance required 90 days of dieting and weight loss.

I cannot wait to see what my A1c is!!! Gotta admit if I am still diabetic I'm gonna be disappointed. I've only lost 33 pounds though. Not sure if that will do it.
  18. @ geeeeez!!! Did the vitamins help with hair growth? It didn't prevent more hair loss did it? Maybe I will give those a shot. I'm worried if I am losing hair at 9weeks what will it be like at four months????? Man I can't do without my hair!!

    ~2 Week Liquid Diet~

Make your mind up right now that you can do it. Mine was two of only liquids. No Soups, only broth. sugar free Popsicles saved my butt cuz I felt like I was eating. I drank ready to drink Protein shakes. Premier Protein were the best. They kept me full for the most part. To be honest, I dreaded the liquid diet for three months. I was really scared to fail. I will tell you it is the hardest part about this whole process BUT it was not anywhere as bad as I thought. Not even close. Shakes kept me full mostly and I had broth and Water and tea and coffee with no sugar or cream. You can do this. Lots and lots of us have done it and survived. I liked the saying above, "I put on my big girl panties". That is exactly right! I sucked it up and did it. It went by fast!!!!!!! The first two days are hardest and third day your body goes into keypads and your life gets easier!! Hang in there. We are here for you!!!!!
