I haven't even tried anything but a few sips of Water until just now. I am sipping on some chicken broth and it is tasting amazing right now. I haven't really had the nausea , so I feel for you on that. I couldn't imagine the pain of vomiting like this. The cough is bad enough. I don't know if they told you this but hold a pillow tight to your stomach when coughing or vomiting.

This has been helpful. I was sleeves on 7/21/15 also. I am pretty sore and wondering when it will go away. One thing I'm worried about is having a feeling to cough. When I start coughing it last awhile and I have been coughing up blood tinged mucus. It's not a lot of blood by any means. I think it just from the tube that was in my throat. I'm worried I could pop a stitch. Anyone else have that issue? Also I really haven't drank or eaten anything. Advice please.

Why was hard liquor bad for you? I have always drank vodka and assumed after the surgery and waiting period I would be ok to drink it.

People are going to judge with me saying this, but I drink probably a few times a month. I entertain customers and as much as people say you can fake it, it makes things awkward in my industry if you have always drank and all of a sudden stop. I haven't had any issues - just take it slow because it hits harder and faster and goes away sooner than before (for me). I haven't lost as much as I thought I would have and I'm sure drinking had something to do with it. But so do the long hours and the travel and other life circumstances. I'm following my diet very closely but still have problems with hydration (yes I know alcohol makes it worse). Hard liquor had been a bad idea. wine has been fine. Good luck and you do you.

I am scheduled for surgery 7/21/15 and I am so worried about being sad over not being able to eat. Honestly it is my biggest concern. I love food and this liquid diet has really been a struggle. I have gotten angry and cried over the thought of not being able to eat several pieces of pizza. ( favorite food). Do these feelings go away?

I had to quit smoking and it sucks. I too gained a lot of weight. I gained 20 lbs in 6 weeks. I didn't even think I was eating more. Now I'm am doing the preop diet and haven't lost the 20lb I gained but hope to by my surgery date.
When will eating become a positive experience again?

Lipstick lady, do you know what the name of the medication was that made the cramping happen less?
