Hi Dre, I feel your pain lol. . . You're doing great keeping those ready made shakes handy. I've been looking for a good tasting one myself so I wont be so tempted by all the unhealthy snacks.@@Miss_Sleeve_Bound I'm heading into week 2 of the pre-op liquid diet and it's hard. I've found the only thing that gets me through the afternoon crash is making sure I have (at least one) of the pre-made Protein drinks in my purse. That way, when I am about to lose it, I just crack one open and it really does help.
The past week at my job had all these random catered Snacks and free goodies - things I've never seen in 3 years there! Every time I wanted one, I just headed for my protein drink. That didn't prevent me from sneaking a few bites of something (oops) and honestly, I still want tacos, but with determination we can do it.
Keep your head up, and remember it's not forever! You (We!) can do this!
Which brand do you use?
Thanks for the encouragement it was so needed. And yep we got this!
I've been able to deal with the Premier Protein pretty well. The chocolate is the best in my opinion (but it's not wonderful lol). I got mine at Walmart.

My date is November 9th, too, I was tentatively going to be in January, but my surgeon had a cancellation and I was given the option. I have a two week liquid diet also, it's actually not as horrible as I imagined!
Something clicked in my brain today, though, once I saw November it just got real!! I'm excited, too, but nervous.

November 9th here!

November 9th here, in NC

GoodiDre, with southeast bariatrics you have the option to do the seminar online as long as you have a passing grade. Then once you take the test then you fax in the application and copy of insurance card and they call you the next day and my appointment was about 3 weeks out after they called me back.
Thank you, queencity!! I just found that Southeast is a "center of excellence" by my insurance, which means I can proceed. I'm logging into their online seminar now

@@GoodiDre my apt was 2 months after my seminar with Carolinas weight management! That's why I went with carolina's surgical (well, that and my mom's surgeon is there)
Yeah I had to wait 2.5 months to even get in the seminar. So I've been waiting since March for pretty much nothing. Did you have a good experience with Carolina's Surgical? I may contact them.
-
GoodiDre, are you seeing carolinas weight mana. Or southeast bariatrics? Or another office?
I'm about a month out from a seminar and still a month away from an appt with Carolinas Weight Mgmt. I expect this process to take time, but I'm kinda over the slowness. I called Lake Norman Bariatric today (after 5pm) and they're supposed to call me back tomorrow.
Who are you seeing? I'm guessing QueenCity makes you local

I'm in Charlotte, too. Appointment pending
-
Dr. Carl Lowe in Charlotte is amazing along with staff. We prayed together prior to surgery. His bedside manners are superior.
He sounds awesome. Was he difficult to get an appointment with? The practice I have contacted has really long wait times just for a consult...
-
Which procedure are you thinking of having. sleeve? bypass? Or the lap band?
Thank you SO much for your help! I have been leaning toward the sleeve, but haven't ruled bypass out. Don't think the band is for me, though. Which did you have?

Hi! I'm new to this site, but have an appointment with Dr. Gersin (because he was available first) the second week of August. I'm ready to get this process going! Anybody have ideas on the timeline?

Charlotte here

Hi, I have a consultation with Dr. Gersin in August. I feel like I've heard good things, but it takes forever to get in with this practice. If anyone would like to share their experience or any tips, please feel free
