    Pain question

I had discomfort in the hospital, not so much pain. I had a pain pump, so the hospital was not an issue. My only pain was getting up and down from seated or lying position. I left the hospital the follow day from surgery and never took any pain medication (I didn't like the liquid crap they gave me). Honestly, I was wondering where the pain was. None. Just discomfort when I moved. Get a binder for when you do your walking.

    Does anyone know...

Their isn't scientific proof to back up at patch yet, however my NUT reports their patients who use them have good blood labs so they say we can use them. We do our labs and if something needs adjusting they will tell us. Regarding waterproof. After dinner and my evening shower I put on my multivitamin patch anywhere I want because I'm in pajamas and no one can see. I remove it in the morning before getting ready for work. 4. What great ideas. I will try some. Now that I'm back at work I can't do my morning egg. I hate reheated eggs. I'm so jealous when I see others have vegetables and fruit so early on. I have to wait until phase 4 which is quite a few weeks away. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

NEW WEIGHT LOSS MIRACLE DRINK DISCOVERED (Not An Ad)

Immediately post op I couldn't drink Water and I loved water, so I added tea, crystal lite. 3 weeks later, no problem drinking plain water again. Yeah Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  6. During my group meeting yesterday, the NUT said to stay away from gummies. She suggested Benefiber mixed with Water or added to a recipe.

    Need vitamin suggestions

My WLS handbook has a slew of vitamins/minerals I was to take after surgery. I received this handbook during the initial group NUT meeting. Its my bible. I went to my 2nd week post op appt and brought what Vitamins I bought. Although I was planning on using the patch MD multi and B12 patch. I could tell with the list of vitamins it did look like some on her initial list were covered with the Patch, but at the time I didn't know that, so I just shopped away. So she looks at everything and said, all you need is the Multivitamin Patch, it has everything you need right now. Before your 2 month post op, get your labs done a week before and we will review and see if you need any adjustments. She said their isn't enough scientific data on the patch, but with patients who ARE using them, their labs are coming back good. I'm thrilled because they are so easy. I checked with Alex that I can use it overnight, which I do. I put it on around 7 pm and take it off around 6. So when morning comes, I remove it, so regardless of what I'm wearing during the day (in this florida hot weather), no patch in sight.

    Please help

You really should be taking a Multivitamin for sure. We had our group session yesterday and one young woman complained of a 2 month stall but after speaking with her NUT she informed her of her heavy workout. Her body was starving the NUT told her. She upped her Protein and the weight started coming off again.

    Tips for flight to Mexico

With the shaker bottle. I had an "accident" in the office, thankfully in my own cubicle last time I was on a liquid diet. What a mess. I'm super careful after that. I fly alot and have seen many accident, mostly careless passengers with their coffee cups boarding.

    Tips for flight to Mexico

you will need to bring a shaker bottle, and nectar powder and bring your own bottled Water that you buy airside before you board. You can ask the flight attendant to fill your shaker bottle with water when she passes with drinks (but don't depend on them to return). You can bring some powdered broth or cube and ask for hot water. If you decide to use your shaker bottle, make sure it doesn't leak when you shake it. Either test it at home, or shake it in the bathroom.
  12. UNCOMFORTABLE. I did not take any pain meds at all after leaving the hospital. Only had discomfort in left side of stomach, and it only hurt getting up or down from sitting position. I needed someone to help and it was fine. I was good by day 5-6. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  13. I bought and used one the first week when walking around and it helped a lot. Once I started feeling better and no more tummy pain, I haven't used it. It's put away now, maybe in a year if I have a tummy tuck I can use it again. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  14. I am so NOT allowed potatoes yet and I don't even recall seeing it in my next stage when I'm 6-8 weeks post op. Only 2 1/2 weeks post op now. I've eaten the ricotta bake just fine, tonight it didn't sit well, but then again, I think I ate too fast. Didn't get sick, but didn't move around much for a 1/2 hour until I felt it settled.

  16. I was to be on clear and Protein shakes for 2 weeks, but my nut moved me to yogurt and cottage cheese day 10 and soft/mushie day 11. I plan to consult with her at six weeks, although next phase is 8 weeks Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    BCBS approval then denial

Did you actually get the letter that BCBS sends out to YOU stating that they approved your surgery? If so, then I would file some type of appeal. If not, then I think your surgeons office may have pulled some shenanigans knowing you would go through with the surgery and they would get their pay check anyway. I was originally approved for a January surgery, per my surgeons financial person AND I also received a letter from BCBS stating exactly what I was having done and that they would be covering it. Then some of my test delayed the date and I had work conflicts for a few months. In June I contacted my surgeon to say my work scheduled would be finished in August and they had to resubmit the insurance request. BCBS had some questions for me, thankfully I answered correctly, and they approved the August surgery. I again, received a letter stating I was approved. So I know BCBS sends out these letters.

    Hair loss

Yikes, my hair grows fast and I have to color my grey almost every month. I do not do highlights. I'm not looking forward to this side affect. 3 months out, I'll be starting European vacation.
  21. I believe most insurances will not accept "pre" diabetic or high cholesterol as a comorbitity. Are you on medication for these??? All of us obese have fatty livers. That is why they put us on a liver shrink diet pre surgery. They will want proof of your sleep apnea, sleep study. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Home from surgery 8/23

Can't u crush the pills. Don't waste your money on liquid codeine. They sent me home with a huge bottle. It was cheer syrup and disgusting I couldn't take one sip and threw it all down the sink. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  23. So I started on "soft/mushie" last Sunday. After botching a couple of meals in my magic bullet, I'm finding it much easier to just cut up (if needbe) what Protein I'm going to eat. I just cut it teeny tiny and puree it in my mouth, chewing until its watery. I don't sit there and count, but I know when I've chewed enough. Anyone else not really use their food processor? And things like eggs, yogurt, refried Beans, hummus - there is nothing to puree. Again, just make it mushy in my mouth. I'm really surprised how easily I am eating and drinking. I have wasted a lot of money of useless items.

    My teeth are my grinder

I haven't thrown up yet. but I have toss a bit of food away already. I tried turkey sausage this morning and while I didn't get sick, I just didn't like it and felt like it might fill me up too fast, before I ate my egg. I never liked sausage before, I don't know why I thought I'd like it now. Maybe because I want real food. I also bought some nice fresh cooked chicken breasts at Whole Foods and knew that was not good mashed, nor pureed. My husband took the remainer and made a wonderful casserole for himself. I them picked out the tiny bits of chicken and ate about two ounces and it was delicious. My NUT is totally opposed to Soups, ugh, and no vegetables until who knows when, I think 8 to 10 weeks.
