    The itching

I'm 9 weeks out and have been itchy for a couple of weeks now, especially my entire arms. My incision sites were never an issue. So weird. I started to lotion up a lot but it doesn't seem to help much. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Air travel post-op?

You will be able to travel barring any complications. Make sure you work hard first getting your Water in, then Protein those first two weeks so you can progress to mushies. Actually you may want to just stay on shakes through your trip. Pack up dry Protein Shakes and buy water at the airports and at your destination. You can pack many things to mix with water. Soups, crystal lite, ice tea. Stay hydrated. I've brought yogurt thru tsa and turkey and cheese rollups. I found cheese easy to eat at 3 weeks, not much else. eggs also. I traveled week 4, 5, 6 and am still back to my hectic travel schedule. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Vitamin Patches

I put my Multi Vitamin patch on sometime after dinner but before bed. This way no worries to hide it during the day or at work. I like putting it right on my upper arm/shoulder. I live in South Florida so a lot of sleeveless blouses. My NUT said all the Vitamins I need are in the Multi. I get my blood work in a couple of weeks. They only do them after two months, but I won't be home for another three weeks, so my two month follow up is more like 2 1/2 months. However, with that said, I had already purchased the B12 patch. I decided to use that also. That one must go on during the day (it may interfere with sleep if put on at night). Now that one, I rotate around in order to hide it. If I'm going to the beach or pool, I will alter the time of day as it isn't waterproof. I can attest, it doesn't come off in the Water, but I'm told it isn't waterproof. Let me say this, one time I had put my multi on my back shoulder over a tattoo. when I pulled it off, it hurt and caused some irritation. I have no idea if it was over a tattoo, but its been two weeks and still is sensitive. I won't be applying it there again.

What kind of 'fat' person were you?

I know it's always recommended to find a therapist but what exactly is their advice that is so helpful. I've talked to therapist now and then but never felt they were worth their fee. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Facial hair *women only

Disagree. Once you start shaving you will eventually get that 5 o'clock shadow and when a man touches your face it will be noticable. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    So disappointed :(

I ate my way to BMI 40, which was only about 10 pounds more than my typical weight. It was actually hard and difficult staying there, but I did it. I laughed when I heard stories about women who wore ankle weights, but its my understanding this is a common practice. I pretty much ignore that high weight in my stats, because it really wasn't my weight, but my surgeon loves to point out how much I've lost compared to my initial weight. ugh.
  14. Yikes. I'm 2 months post op and toss in a scoop of GENEPRO in my coffee each morning. Then usually have a Premiere shake as a snack at some point during the day. I don't think I'd make my goal each day without it. I hate greek yogurt and cottage cheese. I wish I were more creative.
  15. I easily could eat chicken so long as it's moist or shredded. Tuna salad. Sea bass is my favorite fish. Not a fish fan. I eat a lot of turkey cheese roll ups with a smear of mayo or mustard. NUT recently clear me for liverurst. Only once in a while. And I was able to eat a pork rib this week. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  16. As soon as I could do soft mushie. However 2 month out I still cannot tolerate it. I can't mush it up in my mouth enough to slide down easily. So no shrimp for me. It's more work than it satisfy me. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Not "hungry", but hungry..?

I don't think about fast food or miss it, unless it's right under my nose and the smell makes me hungry. No slips yet. I've asked my son not to do that anymore. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  18. I love good wines and even though my strict NUT says never again, my thought process was yeah sure. I will give it up for a year and then occasionally. After six weeks i thouht, nah i will have a few ounces special occassion only if its good, no house wines or free wines served at restaurants. I was with a group late afternoon discussing this yummy wine and decided to join them. Took my time but about 5 ounces in, and it was smooth, I experienced an odd feeling in my gut, not uncomfortable enough to stop so I finished it 6 to 8 ounces. It definitely hit me quickly as I became very chatty and triggered hunger. I had eaten just an hour before. Thank God, the host did not bring out food. I swear if someone put a bowl of ice cream in front of me I would have gone for it. What a trigger it was for me. I literally started thinking of all these foods I miss. I immediately left my friends came home and reheated 4 ounces of grilled grouper. During the night my tummy was making crazy gurgling sounds. I better stick to my original plan. Thinking back, alcohol was always a trigger. After an evening of drinking, I can remember immediately going for cake. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  19. Horrible hip pain, bursitis, told orthorpaedic about my gastric sleeve and can't take anti inflammatory He said I just want to give you a shot, I said no, I better not. So he's going to try and order me some compound cream. An hour later I had to meet with my NUT anyway and asked her. She said, its okay, just be warned I may bloat and that steriods can be a trigger for hunger. She said if I need the shot to get it. Common sense told me that the one shot, wouldn't wreck me or gain my 40 pounds back I lost since July, so I'm glad I spoke to her. So anyone have any experience with why we are told this? I was afraid it was going to eat away at my healing tummy. I'm on travel now, but in a months time, I'm going in for the shot.
  20. I'm 7 weeks out, since I'm out of town I won't get the shot until about 12 weeks if it's still hurting. I'm going to use icy hot patch tonight. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
