  1. I gag when I take Vitamins orally. pills have to be teeny, tiny. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  2. I attended a wedding at 4 weeks, very swanky. Luckily I had an option for Chilean sea bass which was delicious however I was only able to eat so little. There was cheese and such before but I held off. The gelato stand after the dessert and cake was such a tease. Had I not been sleeved, I surely would have put on 10 lbs that night. I then attended a buffet wedding the following Saturday. A little more of a challenge, more because people noticed I was not eating or drinking. I did not touch wine until about 9 weeks out. Takes an hour and a half to drink 2 -3 ounces of wine. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Weight gain

The insurance approval would have been based on what your surgeon provided them. I assume you received a approval letter from the insurance company. I don't believe they need to resubmit a request for approval again. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Just curious...

No fruit juice allowed at all on my plan during weight loss phase. Water, crystal light, ice tea is about all I get to drink. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Loving my vitamin patches!

I believe there is only one bariatric patch supplier, right here BariatricPal Store. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  8. I've heard people putting weights in their pockets. I know that's fraud but so many do it. I actually myself put on 10 extra pounds to meet the qualifications. I quickly took them off. You can probably gain it quickly with little effort Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Getting scared.

Just know it's a safer option than you may think. Hopefully you did your research on your surgeon. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  10. Sounds about right. Face, then my rear-end. I keep looking at this flat backside in the mirror in can't believe it. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  11. Soup isn't even approved by my plan, I'm not sure why since its so easy to eat. There are a couple of things not on my approved list, but I've seen on others list, that I have eaten on occasion once I passed two months post op. I don't find it a slider at all, and homemade, I make sure there is more shredded chicken than typical, so it fills me up fast. I know not to try the creamed soups.

    ITCHING

yup, for me itchy arms, upper, lower, doesn't matter. I try to latter on the body cream rather than itch. But its so weird.

    Low to no energy

This is a topic, I saw over and over on this forum. This forum helped me prepare so much (maybe too much sometimes). But because of all I read here, I knew I was going to have to work hard getting my Protein and water/fluids in so that I didn't find myself in the ER getting an IV. Just work hard trying to reach your goal everyday. Sometimes, I know I didn't get it in early on, but close enough. Of course, go to the ER if you are that dehydrated, but start working on your goals. You are probably on mushies by now, make those calories count. Follow the plan.
  14. So I got my last bill from Cleveland, and its down to $1800. And yes, that doesn't include all the pre tests and copays that were required before which added up to about $600. Of course, its worth it to have the surgery done in a Center of Excellence and such. They also give me a lot of support for a year, well as often as I want to visit the NUT, plus group supports forEVER if I chose. They are nice, anyone is welcome at their support meetings, even if you had the surgery elsewhere.

    Dizziness

This happened to me a few times also, its usually related to what my diet consisted of the day before or not enough fluids and/or if I had coffee in the morning and let too much time pass before getting Breakfast Protein in. Even still I think my blood sugar drops early morning and I hate when I'm driving and this happens. I believe we are just still early out. Its only 10 weeks for me, but every day is a learning experience.

    Salads?

I'm 10 weeks out. And not really ckeared for vegetables yet however, the last couple of weeks if a piece of lettuce was on my plate I'd try it. It's not that easy to chew, chew, chew. But I enjoyed the crunch and change. Yesterday while out I ordered a Cobb salad (eating only a teeny tiny portion) and hardly any lettuce. I use to love salads but it's not that appealing anymore, it's too much work to chew and just doesn't slide down that easily. Maybe a few more months out it will get easier. High school reunion

I was told to not ever drink again, lol. I love good wine. Due to various functions, I had about 2 ounces about 7 weeks out. Felt okay drinking. Felt very weak the next day. 8 weeks out had a 5 ounce glass. Took me about an hour and a half to drink it. My body signaled me to drink it slow. Very weak and dizzy next day. Friday had about 2 ounces, yesterday felt weak. Obviously all related reactions. Oh, after my first glass had someone put a bowl of ice cream in front of me, I'd probably have eaten it. These small drinks hit me fast. I'm not in favor of avoiding special occassions, but it sounds like you shouldn't drink if it's a slider. But there are plenty of reasons you can explain for not partaking. But go, I'm sure you've lost weight by then and will be feeling great and sassy. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    How many Incisions

I had 8, one was a mistake, out too far, barely noticeable but still my surgeon did say typically 6 or 7. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  19. I was not cleared to start Vitamins until 2 weeks post op. I use the multi Vitamin bariatric patch. Swallowing was not an issue. Now my ppi, I opened capsule. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Back to work

Not cleared for exercise or heavy lifting for six weeks if that helps. Desk job you can return after two weeks but may be tired if a long commute and such. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  21. I went thru Cleveland clinic and I truly believe what a scam. I kept getting referred to different doctors for clearance who ordered some pretty invasive tests which some carried hefty copays. I believe they took advantage of my desperation to get approval for this surgery. Every test came back just fine. Glad to learn I was a heathy fatty but still. What a racket. Good luck. I can handle this

When I eat out, I cannot eat much. I have lots of leftovers, even when ordering appetizers. Our restaurants really do put way too much on our plates. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  23. I didn't think the reason you have to wait was due to swallowing a pill. Anyway I was not cleared to take Vitamins for two weeks after. My 2 week follow up was actually day 12 and still told to wait 14 days even for the patch. I do use the patch. I'm having my first blood tests next week. Looking forwards to the results Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Employer

I didn't plan on telling them other than gallbladder surgery (that was removed too). But the director wanted me to go to Haiti the week I was to return, a month out. There was no way in hell I would go to Haiti within six months, so I had to tell her the full extent of my surgery but made it clear she was not to share this info and as far as I can tell she, nor my supervisor have. Itchy at incissions

They sat about two weeks, some of mine were on a tad longer. They say not to pull them off. Most of mine curled up and if it were over two weeks I'd help it along in a hot shower. They all were healing nicely. Don't touch if they are oozing Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
