    Dropping a shoe size?

I hope to lose a shoe size or two...they do NOT make cute shoes in size 11 I'm convinced!!
  2. I just returned to work today and it was funny having everyone ask me if I enjoyed my "vacation." I never said what I was going to be doing while out from work but I was quick to tell them I was NOT on vacation. I only said before I left I would be out to attend to personal matters. I work with nosy, NOSY women! I admit I took some pleasure in knowing the curiosity was out there and I did nothing to squash it.
  3. Women are taking over the world, that's why! Nah, but it would be nice to see more of the male species around these parts! I think a lot of men can't be bothered to talk an issue to death like some of us. :smile2: Robert we were banded on the same day-best of luck!

    Hello From Georgia

Welcome! I live in Decatur and am recently banded. There are a lot of Dr. Bagnato patients floating around here so you're in good company! Good luck.

    Anyone from Georgia ??

4Jin-I am doing pretty good! I return to work tomorrow...woo. I was getting bored though laying around so I suppose this is a good thing. You get to start mushies this Tuesday? Wow...I'm STILL on clear liquids. I am so sick and effing tired of protein shakes, jello, broth and popsicles. I had to choke down a slim-fast this morning. My body was like-NO! No more of this sweet crap you keep giving me. I am sooooooo ready for mushies. I'm supposed to wait until Thursday to start them...not sure I can hold out though since I'm returning to work. We'll see. Candy-you are a genius! There is a Taco Bell right down the street from work. Pinto's and cheese sounds so good right now. It's nice to know that will be an option! I love pinto beans. My grandmother cooked me a pot and sent them back with me. They are in the fridge just waiting on me.

Gained 2 pounds since surgery :(

I didn't weigh myself until yesterday. You have to let your body heal and get rid of the gas and swelling. I used to obsess about the scale and weigh everyday when I was on a diet and it just drove me nuts! I'm only planning on weighing myself once a week. Just focus on your recovery and the pounds will start coming off when your body is ready.

    Lane Bryant Shooting

A car smashed into a Lane Bryant in a suburb of Atlanta today...where I live. WTF is going on? The place seems cursed...

My stomach noises became entertaining to me. I'd be like-for real? What the hell is that noise?

    Silly Surgery Question

Great laughs! It's not a dumb question...I asked the same thing! Hey-it was my first surgery so how was I to know? It felt weird having just the hospital gown on with the back open and I was clinging to the blankets! After my surgery I was looking at my incisions and I wondered if they had to hold my boobs out of place because one of the incisions is *right* below my left breast. Then I had this image of a nurse being assigned to hold the boob. :tongue2: You might as well laugh about this stuff, they've all seen the junk a million times.

    Return to Work/School

My surgery was on 1/31 and I will be returning to work on Monday. I probably could have gone back the middle of this week, but due to the liquid diet I just don't feel like I had the stamina to try. It's been so nice to have plenty of time to recover!
  14. I wore a sports bra and yoga pants to the hospital and have been living in yoga pants since my surgery. Just think comfy clothes and you'll be fine. I agree with slip on shoes. I wore my house slippers to the hospital!
  15. I feel your pain...literally! I am struggling not being able to sleep on my side. I hope I can in the near future. I roll over automatically in my sleep and it's not a pleasant way to wake up in the middle of the night!!

    Encouragement needed...

Be careful ssnnggnn...my doc forbid anti-inflammatories, which include ibuprofen after my surgery.

    Oprah needs a lapband....

Her facial expressions said it all to me. I was not happy with the way the show went off yesterday. Dr. Oz can kiss my ass. Don't misunderstand me though...I love that Oprah makes such an effort to try and motivate people to lose weight. I am often inspired by her efforts. I think she's got a ways to go though as far as her support to those of us who have had WLS.
  18. Honestly, I don't think I'll mind if someone treats me a little different after surgery, because I'd like to be able to weed out the jealous, insecure types from my life. I am blessed with amazing friends so I don't think I'll get any negative reactions out of them. You never know with folks though...it's funny to think that losing weight would cause someone to react negatively. If anything I just want to get to a point where I'm at a healthy weight, and my weight is not the first thing on my mind or the minds of those around me!

    book

I haven't read that one. I'm currently reading "Dieting Sucks" and it's quite a funny read, especially during this time of my healing. A friend recommended it who also had lap-band surgery.
  20. I too had to do a diet beforehand to shrink my liver. It was a little harsh towards the end but Lord knows I didn't want my bigass liver getting in the way of my surgery so I just did it. I have to admit I have been hungry today for the first time. It sucks, of course it does, but this time period is so small in the grand scheme of things so I just added an extra few spoonfuls of Protein powder to my slimfast today and have been drinking Water out the wazoo. I have to keep remembering...NO PAIN, NO GAIN! I'm a self-payer too and I am treating this like gold and it means the absolute world to me.
  21. Deneicy I am loving your posts. I've come across several and I love your attitude. I appreciate the encouragement. We will succeed! Thanks!

    Encouragement needed...

You can do it! I had surgery last Thursday and I swear you are echoing all my pre-surgery fears! I was STRESSED out...but I finally decided to let.the.stress.go. Do not worry about waking up during surgery. Movies are to entertain and sensationalize things. I worried about this as well. I honest to God, do not even remember them giving me the anesthesia! I remember being put on the OR table and the next thing I remember is grabbing to get the oxygen mask off my face! Calm down. You are so lucky to be having the surgery. Think of all the people out there who would love to be in our positions. As I sit here and type, sipping on more Water, I definitely know where you are right now. It will be fine. You will do great. :tt1:

Who know, who doesn't, and why???

Now that I've had the surgery I am telling more and more people. I was really stressed before the surgery, for a number of reasons but I don't know if it's the pain meds or me just being so bored from laying around resting, but I just find myself telling folks. I still don't plan on telling folks at work, because no matter how many pain meds I take, I will never think of telling a bunch of selfish negative nancy's is a good idea.
