  11. Yup, genetics is at play here and It sucks! Try not to compare your journeys and I can't imagine how difficult that is going to be but It's not going to help your outcome or relationship. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Bananas come in all sizes..I could eat a small banana but only half of a large one. At 2 weeks out I couldn't eat more than a couple tablespoons before I was satisfied. I certainly wasn't hungry so it was a chore to eat. (Even now at almost 8 months out). I really didn't start feeling the pressure or fullness till I was on soft foods. This is when I really starting feeling the restriction. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. If I didn't eat cheese, (its one of the foods I actually enjoy) I would never eat enough calories. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. I'm off work till next July. (Not medically related) I feel your pain of being bored and not having anything to do. I'm starting to quilt to make gifts for Christmas. Spend these last two weeks getting a jump on that or find something you really wanted to try but never had the time to. It really sucks having a limited income to boot but I'm making the best of it. The best feeling is having my two adult kids (19&20) getting up everyday and going to work to help their unemployed parents out Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I ordered some Syntrax nectars and I didn't have any issues with the order. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  19. Most likely It's not hunger. Acid will feel like hunger, dehydration will feel like hunger and that dreaded head hunger. If you're getting all of your Protein and liquid in, you have to find a way to pass the time and ignore that feeling. This is one of the hardest things to overcome. 20. @@northstar9148 It's way too much to give on here but I could email the information to you. I had to go through 7 monthly classes. From learning to read labels to how to cope emotionally post op. DM me your email and I'll work on it for you
  21. Do you have a planet fitness near you? They're either $10-$20 a month and you have access to free trainers and classes. (The $20 per month includes the tanning beds) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I found watching the food network almost therapeutic in those early days. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I've tried shrimp and crab both sit well. They're a little tough for 17 days out but they are my go to now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. The incision pain lasted about 2 weeks. If I drank too fast or too much it hurt going down. Take slow small sips Make sure you take your Vitamins and reaching your Protein and liquid goals. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I was on full liquids starting the day after surgery. Some Drs have patients on clear liquids for a month post op, what does your plan say? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  26. A $15 electric mini chopper made the purée stage so much easier. I put everything into that baby Definitely add a little gravy or a condiment to make the meat moist. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  27. @@bellabeans My Peanut Butter craving was satisfied by adding a little PB2 to my shakes. You won't be "hungry" for a while but try to keep your meals to 30 mins. We can eat anything if we stretch it out. I had meatloaf on my puréed stage. I put it in my mini chopper and ate it with a little bit of mashed potatoes. I wasn't able to eat more than 1/4 cup overall. If it helps you to stay on a schedule there are tons of examples online. It was the only way I could get my liquid and Protein in during those early days. I set my Fitbit to remind me to eat but there are apps like Baritastic that have timers. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html?m=1 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
