    Unflavored protein

Those of you who have used GENEPRO, does your surgical team or Nuts approve it? I haven't found a PDCAAS score on it. It's sad that companies can make any claim on supplements and don't have to answer for it. The FDA does not regulate them. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any runners?

I'd suggest adding a class of yoga to help with learning to breath and to keep balance. It has helped me tremendously not to mention it's a great workout. When I started running (on a treadmill) I had to old on for fear of not being balanced. After yoga I can run without holding on and rarely get stitches now. Goin fishin?

No need to tell you that this is a major surgery but I think you shouldn't even try to go fishing. Heck the ride home from the hospital was a trip, I can't even imagine the bouncy boat ride, even on a glass river. A flight is no comparison. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Try using a baby spoon to make sure you aren't eating too big of a bite. Take 30 mins to eat your meal and set a timer if you need to. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    HELLO JANUARY SLEEVERS!

My biggest problem is not enjoying food. If what I'm eating isn't amazing then I don't want to eat. I mean we eat so little of it, I want it to be out of this world. This puts me getting most of my Protein from shakes. Which isn't good. I'm getting no where near the calories i should but I'm hitting the protein target. I also struggle with exercising. Lack of energy from not eating is a big part of the issue. The positive, I'm 10 lbs from goal. This is the best things I've ever done for myself. I haven't been this size in 25+ years. Hiccups anyone?

If I drink too fast or too much I get one loud weird hiccup. It is very annoying and embarrassing Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Protein shakes are different for me now too. I had to use unjury pre-op. I can't stand them now. I've been using premiere shakes. chocolate mostly. I sometimes add things to it to change things up. (Like s/f coffee syrups & powdered pb2) it's all about finding what works for us now because our tastes and likes have changed so much. 8. How are you with drinking shakes? I know we should be getting Protein from food but you have to do what you have to do. Here are some suggestions http://www.bodybuilding.com/content/ultimate-list-40-high-protein-foods.html Some Protein Bars aren't bad but most are junk. The Rule of thumb is 1 gram of protein = 10 calories in order for it to be a good source of protein. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How Do You Stop Losing Weight

The short answer is by sticking to a certain calorie intake/calorie out regime. Your Nut should set you calorie intake while you're in the losing phase and let you know what to increase it to once your in maintenance. Everyone's target varies. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Question about blood pressure

How are you taking your Blood Pressure? Regular Bp cuff or electronic. Wrist or arm? Is the cuff big enough? Has it been calibrated with your Drs cuff? There's many factors that can give you a inaccurate reading. Are you having any other symptoms? Seeing lights swirling in your eyes? Flushed, tired, headaches? Numbness? When do you take your meds? I had malignant HBP. I've never been told to be worried for a heart attack but severely hpb puts you at a risk for strokes. Not that this is severely high but know the symptoms. If you're experiencing any other symptoms go to the Dr or minute clinic to have your BP checked by a professional. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Best test to see if it is real hunger or acid is to eat (drink) Protein. If the feeling goes away for a while then it was hunger. If the feeling doesn't go away then it was not. It could also be head hunger but use the same "test". Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. One regret for most sleevers is that we didn't do it sooner. You did it sooner. Having PCOS makes it very hard to lose weight. Especially for those who don't have a eating disorder, where simply changing our diet and exercising would be beneficial. I fought PCOS to lose weight for 20+ years. I am not or ever been an over eater or binge eater and I wasn't able to successfully lose until I had the surgery. It was all metabolic and hormonal for me. Everyone is not a cookie cutter example of what a good candidate for surgery would be. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. First congrats on losing. Yes, 5.5 lbs may not seem like a lot in the grand scheme of things but you're just starting out on this journey. You will find everyone has different goals, starting weight and issues. Do not compare yourself to them. Your situation is unique to you. Some have the buyers remorse (the "what the crap did I do moment") and that is perfectly normal. I would stay off the scale of every ounce or pound lost/gained will cause anxiety. Some only weigh themselves when they go for check ups. That may be something you should practice. The feeling hungry all the time could be Acid in your stomach. Ask your surgeon about getting an rx for Pepcid, Zantac or something along those lines. Stomach acid will mimic hunger for a couple months. True hunger is very rare post surgery this early out. Fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. Yes! At 7 months out I am very pleased with my progress! It's been slow at times but overall I can't complain. Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Tight chest

Are you coughing or hear gurgling sounds when you breath? Showing any other signs of infection? The purpose of the tool is to help get rid of the Fluid in our lungs from being put under. I didn't use it at all after leaving the hospital. I also had pain in my shoulder but mine was from drinking too fast and residual gas. I would put a call in to your pcp just in case, especially if you're experiencing any other symptoms. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Ladies only!

My first period post op (Started the day of surgery) was about a month long. It takes a while for your body to adjust with all the crazy hormones. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Usually any restrictions are for 6 weeks. I would say you would be good to go if you feel up to it Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. Congrats!! Ask for another pillow. I was able to rest comfortably with a pillow on my side. For me the waiting to drink was the worst! I couldn't drink until my endo the day after surgery. My mouth was so dry and my throat was so sore. Once I could drink I felt so much better. Welcome to the losers bench! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I had a 2 week driving ban but most Drs let you drive as long as you're not on narcotics. Enjoy and definitely bring the tissues Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I loved it during my mushy phase. Didn't have any issues. I can't eat it now at 7 months out mainly because my taste have changed, I don't like the Italian seasoning now. Crazy
  23. Pack lunches and set their clothes out the night before. Get them involved or while your husband is there to help. I'm not a morning person so I'd even plan Breakfast out the night before. I had a hernia repair and do not think it added any additional pain vs those who just had the sleeve. I didn't need my pain meds past week 1.
