    Protein intake

@@8petals You can buy unjury from their website. I'd suggest starting with the starter kit. Then buy the flavor(s) you like in bigger quantity. They also sell it on amazon. Some hospitals that perform bariatric surgeries have it in their pharmacies too. http://www.unjury.com/?tag=GoogleBrand&gclid=CKjX4KHg3M4CFckkhgod2XkFpQ Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Cold medication

Benadryl or NyQuil is what I take at night. Plain Tylenol during the day.

Caloric Intake ~ 2 Weeks Out, Onward

At that stage I had no caloric goal. I had a Fluid and Protein goal. 64oz liquid 60-80 grams protein Now I'm 7 months out and my calorie goal is 600-800 with the same fluid and protein goal amounts. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Stomach stretching

Its not possible to stretch your sleeve if your surgery was done correctly. As far as how much I can eat.. It all depends on what I am eating. We all have the possibly of over eating. It's important to measure out/weigh our portions and not eat beyond that. Also to eat till we are satisfied and not till we are full. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Protein

My dr says 60-80 grams per day. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. For you to gain weight from eating you would have to go way above your caloric intake. Water weight get gain is common especially for women. My weight fluctuates even throughout the day. I always weigh myself after going to bathroom first thing in the morning in the buff it will be 3 or so lbs lighter than it is in the evening. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Almost 1 week post op!

Walking only for 6 weeks or until your dr allows you(My wait was 8 weeks). Walk a little longer/further each day. Then it was a gradual increase of running and weight lifting. If you have a Planet Fitness near you, you can get a membership for $10 a month and they have free personal trainers. Are you eating yogurt, s/f Jello, s/f pudding, s/f Popsicles? They all count toward your Fluid intake and was allowed on my 2 week liquid post op diet Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Yogurt

Unfortunately without the nutrition information it's hard to say. A good source of Protein will not have more than 10x the Calories than it does protein. For example if the yogurt has 12 grams of protein it shouldn't be more than 120 calories. When I eat yogurt it's Oikos Triple zero. 15 grams protein in 120 calories. Cant keep anything down

You Definitely have to take small bites and small sips. Some Nuts suggest using baby/toddler utensils to keep bites small. Also get the Baritastic App. It has food timers so you can pace yourself. Hoping you feel better. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I don't want to discourage you because the couple days after surgery is such a quick passing time. I was so sleepy. I slept the whole day after surgery. Pain was minimal but they kept giving me meds. I didn't start walking till day 2 post op. My biggest complaint was a sore throat. I couldn't drink anything till after my swallow test the next afternoon. That was the longest wait..I just wanted a sip of Water When I got home from the hospital..I still slept a lot, pain was still minimal but my throat still killed me. I was able to use chloraseptic spray and it helped a good deal. Like I said it's such a short period of time.. Get your rest, take your pain meds, have a comfy spot to rest. A body pillow was my best aid.. I was able to sleep on my side with belly support. Good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. There's a lot of food that I used to love and now can do without. Pretty sure it's common for our likes/dislikes and tastes to change. It sure did for me
  12. My dr told me to eat every couple of hours. I go by a schedule because I can only eat very small amounts at a time(still at 7 months out) If I only ate 2-3 times a day I would never eat Enough calories/protein. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Eating

I think we all have our moments. Best thing is recognizing where we went wrong and what triggered it. Then start making better choices now. Remember...when eating out it is hard to find healthy choices. Especially at TGIF and especially during their unlimited apps special. Because of that I study menus online to all of the local restaurants. I know ahead of time what I can eat where (or at least an idea of what I want) best thing..I know the places I have to steer clear of that have no good choices at all. TGIF isn't all bad, but having a game plan before you walk through the door helps tremendously. It takes the "what can/will I get" out of the question. What do you tell the waiter/server?

It bothers my husband more than it does me. Most of the comments from servers are because they think I didn't enjoy the food or thought it wasn't good. He'll say things like "she just eats like a bird". I just ask for a Togo container. Most of the time we've resorted into getting food to go from most places instead of dining in. Which is a bummer because I enjoy the atmosphere and company more than the food now. Our local restaurant that we visit often knows I had surgery so they have "Cindy meals" lol which I love that they scale down menu items for me knowing that I won't eat it all. Really Regretting it.

Your throat is raw and your stomach is swollen from surgery. This will ease as next couple of days go by and it will become easier to get your fluids in. We've all been there to some degree and trust me when I say it gets better. Question though.. What are you trying to eat? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Isopure (Yuck!)

I ordered the sample pack from unjury. It came with a mixing cup and a thermometer. If it's not hot enough or too hot the soup will not mix properly. I also used my Keurig but still checked the temp. Sometimes it was too hot and needed to cool down a bit. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Isopure (Yuck!)

pre op I was only allowed to use unjury. It was nice to have the chicken Soup for something savory. Mixing the strawberry with lemonade crystal light made it pretty good. vanilla and chocolate wasn't too bad with just milk. I didn't use much of the unflavored. Whipped Cream

Honestly it could lead to bad behavior again. Maybe some Greek yogurt. Also Look up Protein mug cakes from "the world according to eggface". She has some really tasty recipes and 1 recipe makes about 4-5 servings. Something with some nutrition http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2010/04/that-takes-cake.html?m=1 Dub that's not sweet!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Exercise Timeline

I was on a 8 week restriction following surgery. I couldn't do anything but walk. I also had a hiatal hernia repair. When is your 2 week follow up? They should let you know what you're cleared for. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any suggestions?

My full liquids included Jello, yogurt and pudding. It was anything that turned to liquid once eaten. It had no fruit bits or anything mixed in. I was on full liquids from day 1 post op. I'd try mixing it in a little bit of s/f pudding Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I mixed mine with Water, Powerade zero, yogurt and pudding (I was on full liquid). It lasted for 2 weeks and then I began to swallow them. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
