  1. Well today was the 21st day I have so longed for. We did the 6.2 mile course that we have mapped out. It was a breeze (we walked it). I hope that I am able to see the scales move soon. I gained 2 lbs. I am so frustrated. I now have blisters on my blisters (literally).

  2. I did! It stunk. I was just a few days away. I had lost a ton like you have and then my jaw swelled up. I went to the dentist and he said my cap cracked and let an infection in. I was devostated. I look back now and since my weight loss has slowed so much I think, what are 6 weeks in the scheme of things. Yes, I had to wait 6 weeks. I was lucky someone cancelled or it would have been longer.

You are angry now, but you will not even remember it (unless you read a thread like this lol). I wish you the best.

    peedy recovery.

  3. I had to have an unfill back about a month ago (6 weeks after surgery). I just received my fill today (only 4.5). I look around and see others losing so much that I can understand how you guys can get disappointed. I hope you just remember that you are making progress, ESPECIALLY when others are noticing it. Keep up the good work.

  4. My doctor told me to bring my CPAP. I wish that I had it during recovery. Ever few minutes the nurse would come over to me, shake me, and get in my face and say very loudly...We need you to breath...take a deep breath for me...do you have a CPAP machine?

I can sleep so much better with it. I know that when I was 116 lbs. as a teenager I snored like a grown man and was always tired. I believe that I will ALWAYS need my machine and if I could get one that fit better I think that I would be willing to do it. My husband thinks that I am passing gas, and instead it is just the mask flapping as it leaks from a poor fit. I am on my second mask. I am not sure how to make it any better. I have practiced laying on my back (I am a fetus style sleeper), and when I can stay in that position I notice that it doesn't leask as much.

  5. I was two weeks post op and read this thread. I was inspired. I ran cross country in high school. This however stopped in the late fall of 1984. I have not ran more than a mile since then. I started walking 3 miles per day with my husband and after I read these comments, I went for a walk and said "what the heck, let's run". We took off and I did not stop until we finished 3 miles. I was two and a half weeeks out. I was only 15 minutes off my best time ever. I know that is almost twice what I used to do, but now that you have inspired me to show that I can do it, I now need to prove I can do better. I turn 41 next week and I wanted to be under 200 lbs and run a 5k in 36 minutes...only 10 minutes slower than high school. Thank you guys.

  6. Please make sure you drink as much as possible up to the amount your doctor told you, because I couldn't get enough in and my kidneys are starting to shut down. My dr. scolded me. I didn't realize what was happening to me. I called his office and said I was concerned about losing so much so fast, but no one put it together until I told the dr. that I could go all day without urinating and had been over a week without a bm. I am doing all I can to drink now, but it has been 3 days and I can finally trickle a few times a day. Please be careful.

  7. Are you sure your liver will shrink doing your own thing? I know my Dr. said if my liver wasn't small enough held sew me back up without the band. I wasnlt willing to gamble. Even if yours would still do it, he could slice your liver if it isn't able to be folded over like a pancake could be. Big gamble for the most important day of your NEW life.

  8. I am kind of scared. I can't get all of my shakes in. I am down 23 lbs and 11 of those are since the 4th. I feel ok. I have been up and gone every evening. I just don't want to be losing my hair or some silly thing. When you say gas pain is it in between your breast through to your back? I am glad you are feeling well.

  9. the motor city! its great to be in detroit, there is nothing scary about it & everyone should visit MICHIGAN-- its a beautiful state!!

I am from Jackson, but we are stationed in Virginia. I miss the seasons. We came home a year ago late April and got snowed in. AAHH...good times.lol

  10. I just walked in from meeting my surgeon. I have two weeks until surgery. I told him I was doing the "STUPID" Liver Shrinking Diet and he about went off! He let me know in no uncertain terms that if I don't do it I might not have surgery. He explained that if the liver is not as small as possible he could possibly cut it. If he can't get enough room to work he can't go forward. He said a lady the other day only lost four lbs. He asked her if she did the diet and she said "kinda". He said when he opened her up her liver was too large to continue safely. I don't want to be that lady! I will be on it for 15 days. Today is day 3. It isn't impossible, but very difficult. I hope you do yours if they ask you to.
