So my surgery was 10/14/15 every month I've lost about 15lbs. I lost 40lbs before surgery and my starting weight the day of was 348, my 3 months appointment is coming up in a week. Im at 306 I'll probably be at about 298 by then. Am I losing enough? I get confused about figuring percentages. I feel amazing regardless of what the scale says, Im just curious if this is a good pace Im losing at.
THANKS FOR ALL THE RESPONSES IN ADVANCE!

amen sista! That is a fantastic attitude! Your right, we aren't where we where and even with the ups and downs it is a better place to be ????
-
thank you!!! No matter what gain or stall I always remember, I'm not where I was!Unfortunately There will be more stalls. Don't get discouraged. The good news is that stalls seem to be when your body adjusts to the new weight. It is true you can still lose inches while the scale stays the same. I only lost 5 pounds in October but people said I looked like I was dropping weight fast. I guess it is just sitting different. Keep up the great attitude you seem to have. Life is going to start to get fun! ????

Thank you! I hit that stall. For two weeks. Ugh. Glad its over! Im sure theres many more to come!

Yay! That's exciting!

when is your surgery scheduled? Thanks for sharing the numbers with us all. I find is so encouraging to know what weight people started at and how much they have lost. I am so looking forward to my surgery but still have a few months to go before it happens. 33 pounds in 3 months supervised diet was great. I have my 5 visit on Monday. I lost 10 months for the 1st and 2nd visit and 7 last month. I am kind of nervous about what the weight loss will be this month. My Dr didn't give me a goal of how much to lose. He said whatever I can lose I am that much ahead of the game. I wanted to get down to about 307 before surgery but not sure that will happen.

thank you! It will! Trust me! It was crazy hard my first day/ night/ morning I threw up 4 times! But when I got home I really got the hang of things. & its been so easy!Congratulations! I was sleeved two days ago and struggle to get 16 oz of Fluid in a day, but I hear it gets easier. I can't even imagine the soft foods yet, lol. Let us know how it goes!

My heaviest weight is 386.4, my starting weight when I began the VSG journey was 381.6. I had to do a 3 month supervised weight program bc of my insurance. The day of surgery 10/14/15 I weighed in at 348.1, this morning I weighed in at 332.5. I have a bad habit of weighing in daily. It is what it is. It keeps me on track. Im well aware of stalls but I like seeing the numbers go down! That is the way to do it. Would love to become friends with you. Do you mind sending me an email and letting me know what your starting weight was as I do not see it on your profile.

Thank you! Recovery is going very well. Im obsessed with weighing in. Its one of the only ways I feel I can keep track & stay focused. I was weighing in multiple times a day however now I only weigh in the mornings! In getting better!

My journey started in February 2015 I went to Rex & began the steps to have VSG. My insurance is with Cigna so I knew I had a four month monitoring program I had to start with my dr. After two months of going through the program with Rex I found out Cigna only covers "Super Bariatrics Programs" & guess what, Rex wasn't apart of that!
After that I did give up, I just felt like maybe it wasn't meant to be. Besides I had planned a all inclusive trip to Cancun so Id think about it afterwards.
June came around & I had made my mind up: this surgery was going to happen. I found out that Duke qualified as a Super center so I did the online orientation, met with my surgeon & started my journey!
The first month I didn't try that hard, at all. I think I lost a lb. August & September I worked my butt off! There was a ridiculous amount of things I had to do, EGD, a countless amount of doctor appointments, checkins with my surgeon, healthier eating, psychological exams the whole 9! I was so over it. But I knew it would be worth it.
My surgery was Wed October 14th I had to go on a one week liquid diet. I went there at 7:30 & got everything started my surgery happened at 9:30 & was done in 40 minutes!!! My surgeon said I had done a wonderful job preparing for my surgery & it made it so much easier. Recovery was tough & I was in a lot of pain. Mostly gas. I got 5 tiny incision scars. It was painful to get in & out of bed but I had no choice especially because I didn't have a catheter & the IV had me peeing every hour. I only had one night to stay. Getting fluids in every 15 minutes was tough, I was so ill & I ended up throwing up 3 times. The next day was so much easier. I met w my surgeon & my nurses they told me I was able to leave at 1pm!!! Fluids were easier & pain was a lot more tolerable.
I've been home now for 3 days & its been crazy good! I've lost 9lbs already & getting my Protein & liquids have been a breeze. I may have had buyers remorse in the beginning but now I know this was the best decision of my life!!!

wow!!! When was your surgery?I started at 375.
My doctor's goal weight for me was 235. As far as I was concerned, that was just a suggestion! :-P
I really wanted to be below my high school weight of 224.
When I hit 235, I didn't feel satisfied, so I went for 224 - my high school weight.
I hit 224, and decided to go for 205.
I hit 205, now I'm pretty satisfied. :-)

Thanks for all the advice!!! It really does help

I recently started my preop diet... The first two weeks went great and I dropped 8 pounds. It's basically kind of like a low-carb very high Protein & lots of Water. This week though, my scale is not moving. My diet has been the same and I've upped my exercise to 45 minutes of Zumba seven days a week. I'm constantly weighing in, I do it every morning and it's the last thing I think about before I go to bed. This week about the numbers just are not moving. My cycle started this week and Im wondering if that could have something to do with it. I did take my measurements and I am another 2 inches off my bust and 3 inches off my waist, from about a week ago. It's just so frustrating to me that the scale isn't showing all the hard work I'm putting in. Maybe I'm being dramatic, it's so frustrating though.
