  1. I'm a 36G. I don't have an issue with most tops, I usually buy mediums. My arms measure 14.5 but they look like yours.

I want a lift but not a reduction, large breasts are pretty normal in my family, mine don't bother me and I would like to keep them.
    Thanks for responding

I've wanted a breast reduction since I was in high school. Can't wait till that one is done too.

Your arms are pretty similar to mine. Mine compress pretty nicely in tight sleeves so they don't look so large. My issue currently is my arms are preventing me from wearing smaller sizes. I can wear a size 8 dress but not if it has sleeves in some cases, same with fitted tops.
What is your dress/top size currently? Do you mind sharing your weight/bmi?

I currently wear a large in tops as long as the material has some give to it. I also have a problem due to my bust size. My arms measure 17 1/2 inches and my bra size is a 38G. My next procedure is a reduction and lift.

Not sure what my current weight is. I'll weigh on Tuesday. Hoping to have lost a couple more pounds.

  3. You will be so happy when you are on the other side like I am - Here is a picture for you - It was not painful at all (I mean zero pain) And it is fantabulous having arms that are not heartbreaking to oneself....
My scars are wider than they would have been if I knew of the tricks I know now.
Even though I would prefer them slimmer (The scars) I do not notice them -Nobody has ever mentioned them - And my arms are a blissful thing in comparison to what they were!
I would say - Keep the paper tape on for at least 10 weeks if you can and remain in compression also - Then moisturize the scars
You will loooooooooooove your new arms - As I love mine. [emoji4]
As someone said to me when I was freaking out before my first surgery of five ops - Keep your eyes n the prize.... And now I am on the other side I can say - The prize is fabulous!
I shall look forwards to your after pictures.
Before pic (Sorry about fuzzy pic)

And a while after... This one is 4yrs after - I can't find any before that at this moment... But it shows you why I wish I had kept that paper tape on longer to support the scar through the first phase of it's healing - I did not for my first two ops - My PS did not tell me all the tricks I now know - So I just did what he said - Now if I did it again - I would keep the Micropore paper tape and the compression garment on for 12 weeks! - I say that as after my 5 ops I have much finer almost invisible scars elsewhere - This was my first op so I knew nothing back then - lol

I will say here - The first time I SAW the arm scars 4 days post op - I freaked! - It looked like bad blanket stitch and was horrific. But less than a week after that - That bobbly stitching was then a line - And I managed to calm down - LOL
Good luck to you and I shall await your story of this part of your journey afterwards :778_heartbeat:

Thanks for the tips! I am worried about the scar but having normal sized arms makes it worth it to me.

Your scar doesn't look that bad to me. If that is the worst of it I will be happy.

  4. My brachioplasty is scheduled for 3/28/17. Now that it is so close the nerves are really starting to kick in. I have always had big arms and now that I am down 100+ lbs they really look awful. Here are some before pictures to show you what I mean. IMG_1783.JPG IMG_1782.JPG

I'm nervous and excited and just want to look in the mirror and see normal looking arms.

  5. I definitely had regret in the beginning. I was in a lot of pain and had terrible Constipation for about 6 weeks. I think the constipation was making the pain even worse. It did take a while before I was happy to have done it. Probably a couple of months. I am a little over 11 months out and down 110 pounds and no longer diabetic. I can turn over in bed without getting out of breath. My quality of life has improved 110 % . I am now beyond glad I did it!

  6. My surgery was January 27, 2016. Can't believe it's been eleven months! I haven't had my December weigh in yet but as of November I was down 105 pounds. Finally hit onederland! Last time I saw that was in the mid 80's.

I am about twenty pounds away from goal. I am having a few plastic surgery procedures so I estimate taking off another 15-20 pounds with that.

Congratulations GirthGirl. You are doing fantastic! I can't imagine how wonderful you must feel hitting onederland. My surgery was a day before yours. Right now I have lost 95 since my surgery date and hope when I see the DR again at the end of Jan I can say I have lost at least 100 pounds. I too will have to have plastic surgery which the Dr feels should take off another 30 pounds. Sure sounds like a huge amount of excess skin. Let us know when you have the visit with the plastic surgeon. Keep going strong.

Thank you ssflbelle! Congrats to you too! I am planning on having my first procedure in May. I just have to get the money together first.

  7. I will own up to being vain, too. I'm 48 years old and the last time I was skinny was in 1975. When I would talk to people about my upcoming VSG I would always say my biggest fears were ending up with a turkey neck and looking old. My fears have somewhat been realized.

I also knew going in I was going to have a lot of loose skin. And I do. I have met with a PS to discuss the three procedures I want done. And they are completely so I can look better. I freely admit it. But never would I have let those concerns hold me back from being sleeved. I went from having a fasting glucose level of 167 to a non fasting level of 78. That alone was worth it.

  9. I told everyone I have daily contact with. The day before my surgery I sent out a mass email to all my co-workers telling them I was having the surgery. I didn't post it on social media only because I tend to not post really personal things. But I'm very honest about it. I started a new job five months after the surgery and I was talking about it the first day I was there. My experience has been phenomenal. Nobody has said one unkind thing to me.

  10. I had my gallbladder out in 2005 and was sleeved this past January. I recovered very quickly from my gallbladder. Very little pain and was able to return to normal activities in no time at all. With the sleeve I was in a lot of pain and it took me a couple of months before I felt good again. Since my recovery went so well with my gallbladder I thought the sleeve would be the same. It wasn't.
