  1. I just had my sleeve 2/15 and have no idea what would be an appropriate weight loss goal? Any suggestions?

I had gastric bypass August 2015 and usually go with a goal of about 10-15 lbs per challenge. The first couple of months I lost 25 lbs then it slowed down a lot for me. I'd say start with a low goal and if you lose more great versus starting with a high number and feeling disappointed. Just remember everybody loses at different rates and not all bodies are the same. Some like me have less weight to lose while others have more so be patient with yourself. In my case, although my weigh loss has slowed down significantly I'm still losing... I'm at 80 lbs after 6 month. I think that's within the percentage my doctor said I would lose. Whatever you do, do not compare your weight loss with others. You will hit stalls or plateaus but they will pass. Good luck in your journey.

  2. Thank you tiggerbug for the encouragement. You too are doing great. Men typically lose weight faster than women so that's also a contributing factor. Keep up the good work and pat yourself on the back for trying to squeeze in the exercise. Even if weekly, you're doing it and it helps.

Niki, keep it up. I know you also exercise and that's great. I'm 168 today and I'm happy I'm still making progress. My GW is 135-140 but trying not to get to hung up on that. I'm shedding inches so whichever arrives first, my ideal weight or ideal clothing size. :)

Good luck everybody, keep up the great job.

  3. I had RNY wls August 4th and am down 50 lbs from surgery and 60 total. I feel that im losin slowly averaging 2-4 lbs a month, most of my weightloss was done the first two months. Buth then again i started at 234 and am now 170. I'm not meeting my Water intake and not exercising either other than walkin so im know that has alot to do with it. One a positive note I am wearing a size 8 and have gone down 4 pant sizes and 2 shirt sizes and I feel great. No complications after leaving hospital. Following a healthy diet and am lucky to have not experienced any dumping nor food getting stuck. Over all its been a smooth journey this far.

  4. I got mine a day before surgery. The morning I was admitted for surgery I was embarrassed because I was assigned a male nurse. I told him i was on my cycle and he gave me a pair of mesh undies and pad, showed me to the restroom so that I could change into a gown. When i was finished he proceeded asking general questions and getting me prep like nothing. I was thankful for that.
