  1. Way to go. I am 4 weeks post op and have dealt with agonizing left side pain for the last 2 weeks. Just as you said, it has been immobilizing to say the least. Any way, fast forward to my four week post op appt. Dr told me the same thing "walk it off". Recommended I think about supporting my abdomen during activities. I stopped at my local Walgreens pharmacy and bought a post surgical abdominal binder and OMG....it's amazing how much it helps. I'm so glad I got it. I hope your pain subsides soon. Best wishes.

  2. I'm still in agony with this pain in my side. When will it let up? Tuesday makes a full week since it started. I talked to the NP and she thought i may have damaged some scar tissue that's been forming in there. It hurts deep in my abdomen. Doubling over, stooped walking type of pain. Any one else going through this?

  3. I feel like you wrote my story out for me. I had a very similar hospital experience with an extended stay. I'm having a hard time getting my fluids is each day. I haven't made the goal yet. I miss food so much. I miss the smell, taste, texture and so on. I've been pretty miserable over all........but........I'm also down 10pounds since surgery on the 20th. That's what I have to focus on. I can't let myself get down and out about what I miss about food when food is what landed me a spot on the operating table in the first place. I'm determined to take one day at a time. I cannot stay in this bad spot or I will sink. I hope you can find a way to keep looking forward. Best wishes.

  4. My surgery was on Thursday 8/20/15. I was in so much pain and so nauseated and dry heaved so many times in the hospital I lost count. They had to order zofran, reglan, and the scopolamine patch for me to get it under control. It finally helped. I stayed 2 nights in the hospital and was so miserable, but, as soon as I was able to go home, I started feeling better. I'm 5 days post-op or 6 if you count surgery day I suppose, and I'm down 10 pounds already. I was really in regret mode the first 3 days but it's getting better day by day. I have more energy today than any other post op day so far and I expect it to get better and better. I hope you start feeling better and hang in there. I think it will get better. I do miss the thought of many foods but then I remember that my uncontrollable love of food is what got me on the operating table in the first place. Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery.
