  1. I'm not where you are, but three weeks out and I can walk longer distances, don't have to run to the bathroom every half and hour, and my clothes aren't bunching up around my stomach.
  2. I was sleeved on the 22nd of June. I miss the numbness that food gave to me. I do love texture and flavor too. Every time I see others eating junk, I count the fat grams, the non-existent protein, the carbs, and I picture the new me. My family went to Sonic last night. There was nothing that I could have. So I ordered a Route 44 cup of ice for 75 cents. I chews the ice slowly and eventually drank the melted ice. Keep asking yourself why?
  3. Apple murder, will that be the next series... Bariatrics: the first month out? ROTFL!
  4. That also sounds like carpal tunnel. Check with your doctor!
  5. I am using the deli as a resource. For example, I order a beautiful broiled Salmon and blended it in the extra juice, sauce, gravy, I asked for at purchase with a hit of 1/3 fat cream cheese. Oh my God, delicious. I love beans! I blended baby Limas and baked chicken (extra juice) and had a hit of whipped sweet potatoes. Monday, I am going to slow cook a cheap steak with broccoli add some kind of cheap low sodium teriyaki sauce with a few grains of brown rice and lose my mind in the world of 2 oz dining.
  6. If you are old enough to have this surgery then you are old enough to set some boundaries with your parents. I am 50 and I decided to not share numbers with family. I did tell my mom how much I lost after my first post-op appointment but told her and other family members that I would not be sharing the numbers going forward. I've decided not to share my numbers, either. It's an empowering decision for me. I quoted you in my journal last week. You are a great motivator! You said, "shame weighs more than anything you ate." At that moment in my journey what you said to someone else on this forum helped me. I search for your comment. You never tear anyone down, and you help them to get up. You are a great friend to others. I pray that when you get down someone can help you. Warm affection, sequau@me.com That was for closertofine.
  7. Keep a journal. Explain the truth to yourself on its pages even if you lie to everyone else around you. I had to explain to myself that I was a food addict. I explained that I self medicated to cover up the fact that I didn't value myself at all. Then I had the task of figuring out why? I'm not there yet. Not even close. Society does a job on humans. We hate each other to the core and we don't know why? We just have to keep finding reasons why it is vital to start loving one person at a time.....starting with ourselves.
  8. Ladies, I hear you. I just don't want to be the reformed fat girl who in order to feel sexy buys everything so tight that she looks "tee dic cue liss"! I'm in a 34-36 and quickly moving to a 30-32....two weeks post op. I'm scared.
  9. I didn't know the mood estrogen fat thing. Thanks!
  10. Oh my God, the meals are heavenly! I love beans/Mexican , and I love Mediterranean everything. Two cultural foods I can die for. I love Soul Food, but since I grew up in the culture it's almost a sacrilege to not put a hammock in a pot of greens, Amen!
  11. I'm so sorry! I meant Diet Ocean Spray. It tastes the same with I sugar. Whew!
  12. Try adding a swig or two of cranberry juice to your daily diet.
  13. I had my surgery on June 22. I'm at the purée stage, thank God!
  14. I'm 1 week and some days out. Have your hiccups and gas pains stopped?
  15. Onajourney, Were you exercising and increasing Protein, and Water to lose the 76lbs or did it just slide off?
  16. 4MEL21 Good job! I want to follow in your footsteps. I'm looking to fall to 185. I am going to give it my all and then some.
  17. I was at the largest 426 in 2011. I was 408.0 at the start of the pre-op diet. 384.0 at surgery. I am 380.4 at 1 week post-op.
  18. I gained .2 of a lb. I am not eating anything I am not suppose to. What's wrong? I am exactly 1 week out!
  19. I drank water before, I just never sipped it! I could gulp it. However!!!!!! In my mind I have this fear of vomiting so I'm afraid to go past the vomit/gag threshold.
  20. Soap and candle Queen the every 15 min alarm worked! Alindsey, I'm not where you are but I'm trying to catch up!
  21. I was having a post surgery meltdown because I couldn't get my fluid at 64oz. My great friend suggested bariatric pal.com and I feel so good. Thank you Alex for passing it forward.
