  1. I am going to Tijuana Bariatric's.

I am taking 3 weeks off of work to ensure a fuller recovery than just 2 weeks. A friend of mine was good to go back to work after 9 days.

I am quite nervous about the nausea and 2 oz eating.

I HATE Jello and broth just doens't appeal to me so I am not sure how I am going to do with the first couple weeks.

68 days until I fly out. IT cant come soon enough !!

  2. Good Morning Fellow Canadians !!

I am so very glad this thread was started.

    I am from Edmonton.

My surgery is booked for September 10th. Flying into San Diego on the 9th and back home on the 14th. I am then taking the rest of the month off for a full recovery.

I have applied for short term disability through my insurance company so I can at least get paid while I am off for 3 weeks.

I look forward to chatting with everyone soon !

    Robin.

My BMI is 34.1 on a bad day. I know its not SUPER SUPER high, but its way too high for me. I suffer from bulemia nervousa and I feel that this is going to be the remedy to kick it.

My doctor is super supportive of my decision as he knows how hard I have tried to change my lifestyle and battle with weight gain and loss.

I see my dietitian (NOT a nutritionist) next month. I am very excited to get some extra information and a pre-op diet ready for August. As well as a diet plan for post op.

I have been doing alot of research on post bariatric Vitamins and not sure with brands, online vs. a health food store. So much information out there.

  3. Good Morning All !
I am scheduled for September 10th for surgery. I fly into TJ on the 9th.
    I am so excited.
I see a dietitian in a few weeks to get a pre-op diet started and a post op diet in the works so my body isn't in complete shock in September when all it gets in broth.< /p>

When booking my procedure I booked 3 months in advance to give myself extra time in case I changed my mind. Plus I wanted to enjoy the summer with my kids. Once I saw my family doctor and told him about my decision, he was so supportive it made me want to change my surgery date to July. Looked into changing my surgery and plane tickets, but to change the flights would have cost half the original price. NO THANK YOU WEST JET !!

  4. Good Morning All !

I have my sleeve surgery scheduled for the beginning of September. I am traveling down to Mexico for this.

Does anyone have any recommendations for Medical Tourism Insurance (NOT TRAVEL INSURANCE)

I have done some research with a few companies, and got recommended a couple by other friends who have had the procedure done in Mexico. I have found the prices vary quite a bit. I have found them from as low as $68 all the way to $237.

Cheaper is NOT always better when it comes to insurance.

Who did you go with and why?

Did you ever have to put in a claim with them for post surgery issues?

    How was their customer service?

    Thanks !!!
