I loved my band the first 4 yrs that love slowly turned to hatred. I had slips, reflux, fills and eventually a cracked tube. I had surgery in december to repair the tubing hoping to regain my original love... only to find out the darn port flipped before I could have my next fill. At this point I was done w the band. On May 26 I had a revision from band to sleeve. I have BCBS and didn't have too many necessary hoops to jump through. It has only been a few wks since my surgery but I already know I will never regret removing the band.

Protein and Water seem to be the trick. Also, it is hard to see the loss in yourself. Listen to others and also look at pictures of yourself. I was just looking at a few from March of this year and wow I can see it now. I couldn't just looking in the mirror. It's hard to believe those were just from a few months ago, it seems like so much longer. I also can't believe I'm only coming up on 6 wks post op. It feels like much longer, but I was also lucky to have a smooth recovery without amy complications.

Hello Buddies! I am just over 3 wks post op band to sleeve all in one swoop. I'm down 25 lbs from the post op shakes until now. I'm not really losing much now but I think that's because I'm having a difficult time getting enough Protein. Otherwise, my recovery has been pretty smooth sailing and I was back at work after 1 week. I too had a lot of scar tissue surrounding my port as well as hiatal hernia repair during which seems to be a common trend I have read. Looking to find some support from others going through this process ☺
