  1. My consult day was 5/20, I was 275lbs... today 6/29... I'm 278... I've been eating like a mad cow... because I quit smoking on 5/28. I'm almost too the point where cigarettes don't phase me, but the habit of eating is a habit I don't need. 3lbs isn't bad.
  2. I'm on the wait list to have an earlier sleep study, mine its until Aug 7th... still over a month away. I have my prep session scheduled for Aug 10th, I have one nutritionist visit to discussion pre op and post op nutrition.... and I see the anesthesiologist... afterwards.... I would prefer a second week in September, but we should see.
  3. Congrats... my sleep study is Aug 7th, I can schedule surgery afterwards. My prep session is Aug 10th... my pre op is 10 days before surgery...
  4. Its a barium swallow. You swallow the most thickest barium first, than quickly swallow this poprock type stuff too blow up your stomach, than swallow a thinner barium... all of which is very nasty... because your trying no to throw all this stuff up, because if the poprocks. All while your doing this they're taking pictures of your esophagus and stomach. My opinion, this test it the worst... next to lumbar punture or spinal tap.

    New journey

I'm looking at a early September date... I won't have my sleep study done until Aug 7th, than I can schedule. I want to say the second week in September. Keeping my fingers cross... keep us posted...
  6. Gold standard whey chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, and unflavored. Easy to make smoothies with and pre and post workout shakes. Still not done shopping... need too get chicken and beef broths, fruits ans veggies and etc. But I have time.
  7. I received my protein powders today..... not looking planning to drinking them without adding anything too make them more appealing... protein has always tasted like chalky barium too me. But I'm planning to blend strawberries, raspberries, and all kind fruits and veggies...along with peanut butter and toranis sugar free.. I should be fine...
  8. I'll have too try those... I wanna see how mu NUT wants to do the preop diet first. I heard muscle was great. Also opti fast or something like that.
  9. I'm receiving some of my protein powders today... going to familiarize myself with all 5, cutting out soda pop, and going to start taking my vitamins everyday. My next appointment isn't until aug 10th... PREP session. Can't schedule surgery until after sleep study on Aug 7th.
  10. Planning to also document on YouTube... I've watched so many journeys, it my turn. I'm going to be a September sleever.
  11. I've have Peanut Butter and chocolate Protein shakes from the gym... very good
  12. Looks like we have quite a few August/September sleevers. Makes me feel a little less anxious knowing I am not alone in this. For a surgery date I am shooting for the beginning of September, during the long holiday weekend. It's after my son's birthday, before mine and before all the big holidays. I haven't had any blood work or tests yet. I am anxiously awaiting the next steps.
  13. I'm a possible September sleever... I just need to schedule my surgery, but can't schedule until after my sleep study in Aug on the 7th. Keep me posted on your journey.
  14. I'm starting to buy everything I will need pre op and post op. All vitamins, protein powders, nutri ninja, promixxer, dual water bottles for protein shakes and smoothies... also a 32oz water bottle, gas-x, and a few things to add to my overnight bag. I'm planning to go grocery shopping a few days before for my jello, broths, crystal light, and popsicles.... all sugar free of course. I like to plan ahead and be organized ...lol
  15. I hope so... I don't want to gove my job any less than 4 weeks notice. Thank you
  16. Hello... I'm a possible August or September sleever here. I started the journey 5/20...after my medical consult with the surgeon, Nutritionist, and Psychiatrist... I was a cigarette smoker, so my surgeon told me he wants me smoke free for 3 months. I haven't picked up a cigarette since 5/25. I was order labs and a sleep study, which I got my labs done and the earliest for the study is 8/7... my pre-determination letter was sent on 6/9 and I received my approval today 6/18. I also have a prep session on 8/10, which I believe will be the day my preop diet starts... just a feeling. I can't schedule until after my sleep study. Once I schedule the surgery, I'll also schedule my nutritionist visit to go over pre and post op nutrition.... and an anesthesia visit. The process is moving fairly faster, because I work for the hospital the is doing the surgery and my insurance is hospital insurance (private *** network). I'm really excited... I'm currently 275lbs bmi of 43.6 and my goal is 145-150lbs...
