    2 Weeks Out!

Looks like I'm going to have to try cottage cheese! I'm scared lol! i heard it's good with pineapple?
  2. I'm closing out week 2 today and I am also losing slowly now, so I'm nervous about week 3! Week 1 was great - 10 lb loss, so I'm thinking that our bodies may get shocked by the surgery and then stall for a bit to play catch-up.

    Week 2 after surgery

I had surgery the day after you. It's definitely tempting to stray from your surgeon's plan, but I encourage you to stick with what they have advised you. I was also warned of solid food getting stuck and causing issues. It's very hard to stay with the liquids (I start pureed in two days), especially since I've now been on liquids for almost a month, but I keep reminding myself that IF something were to happen, I'd end up in the hospital again, which I don't want to happen!

    Think I'm getting a cold ????

Same thing happened to me 3 days before surgery -- see your PCP for a blood test to make sure you don't have an infection. If it's just a cold, take the extra strength Tylenol Cold and Flu. I felt 80% better the next day and 100% on day of surgery! I would also let your surgeon know ahead of time to see if he/she has any recommendations, especially if you have a fever.

    Husband left me!

He is being incredibly selfish and insecure and he's attempting to sabotage you because you're SO close to this huge life change. I am so sorry. You deserve to be happy and healthy! Please remember that!
  6. The Sunday before my surgery on Wednesday, i woke up with a terrible cold and went through a whole box of Kleenex! Like you, I was so nervous that they would cancel my surgery. I emailed my surgeon's office and made the nurse aware. Then I went in for an appointment with my PCP that Monday and she ran a blood test to make sure I didn't have an infection. Thankfully it was just a cold -- nasal spray and Tylenol Cold and Flu (the extreme one) did the trick and I felt MUCH better on Tuesday...but I feel your pain because I was so worried! My advice is to see your primary care as soon as possible. Get a blood test and take some OTC meds. Make sure you don't have an infection or fever for your own peace of mind. Best of luck to you!

    Hospital bag....what do I need?

I definitely overpacked for the hospital and used very few things I brought! I recommend wearing the same clothes to the hospital that you'll wear home. Besides that, bring chapstick (my hospital provided this), your phone, ID/insurance card, iPad or book or something similar, chargers, extra underwear, gas-X strips, and your favorite pillow. I walked the hospital in the gown and socks they provided. Never had any desire to make the extra effort to change out of anything lol

    baked ricotta cheese recipe

Soooo excited to try this when I move to the next stage in four days!
  9. I'm interested to see if mine becomes regular long-term. I had my period the week before surgery and the last day was supposed to be on surgery day...but it continued for another week! I hope I won't have anymore 2 week periods lol! That was crazy.

    Vitamins

Wow I just signed on tonight to ask the exact same question! I'm 10 days post-op and I have extreme nausea every time I take an Opurity-Optimized Sleeve/Bypass Vitamin. It's truly awful; I actually start feeling like my temperature is rising along with the nausea. It's happened 3 times now and I can't do it anymore! If you're already having trouble, I highly recommend staying away from that one! I'll be watching this thread, since I also need help with this! I have to take chewables right now, so I'm limited as to what I can have.

2 days postop... How did you feel?

I'm one week post-op and days 2 and 3 were my worst by far. I was extremely emotional, in pain, and couldn't get many liquids down at all. By days 4/5, I had so much more energy and went off of my pain medication. I promise you it gets better!

    One for the ladies!

I also couldn't use tampons during the surgery. They gave me mesh underwear (ugly, but surprisingly comfortable once you're used to it!) and a pad. I was nervous about this as well, but it was no big deal at all.
