  1. I truly never, even in my wildest dreams, believed I could get to my goal weight. I truly never even had a glimmer of hope that I could one day have a healthy relationship with food, a healthy self-image, hope for my future. But here I am. How in the world did I get so incredibly, unbelievably lucky?

  3. 8 months post-op today! I'm down 141 since surgery and 196 from my highest! So close to the 200 pound mark... I can hardly believe it.

  4. I am excited tonight for 3 reasons! 1. I finally got access to a spine expert here in Milwaukee and they got me in next Tuesday! As most of you know I have been struggling with back pain . 2. My hubby is taking me out for date night tomorrow to the house of prime rib. I love prime rib! 3. I bought an adorable dress that looks fantastic on my new thin body that I am going to rock tomorrow night. It's been a long time since I have been out for something fun and if I feel good, we will go out for a movie after.

I've been following you for a long time on this site - you've been such an inspiration to me and so many others! I'm so happy for you, and I hope that these new docs can give you a better solution for your pain. When I first saw your new picture, I couldn't believe it was you either - confirms the reactions I get from others too even though I don't see that big of a change myself. Enjoy your prime rib!!!

  5. You know, the only food-related thing I still struggle with is salt. I crave salt and salty foods like crazy, want to douse everything I eat with it. Not only that, but hot sauce/soy sauce is basically addictive to me, to the point where I have a very strong desire to just drink it! Just goes to show you, surgery doesn't "fix" you. You still have to make the decision every moment of every day that your health matters more than your desire to eat. It's a long, winding, never-ending road, but also a rewarding one.

I crave salt too - and sometimes give in and have a little bit on my finger. Have you tried any of the really cool special salts they have around now? Pink salt, black salt, smoked salt, truffle salt, etc... They each have their own nuanced flavor.
