  2. Hi! I'm a 48 yr old mom of 3. I've been wanting to have GB surgery for almost 25 years!!! I chickened out the first time.....I'm kicking myself because at that time I had insurance with no prereqs and paid for it 100%...but I was scared and not ready. Fast forward to 2013...dying gall bladder, botched gall bladder removal, bile duct repair surgery. I lost 35 lbs in a month because of that...it was inspiring. Decided to 'clean eat' and joined Beachbody and jumped in with both feet. I was doing FANTASTICALLY, losing a total of 78 lbs, not quite to my goal weight but I felt so fantastic!! But then.....the hubs got hurt at work and was off for 3 months. I had to go back to work. My little bubble of getting to be a stay at home mom, with oodles of time to meal prep and exercise burst in a huge way. The only job I could get was at pizza Hut....I was angry that he got hurt, I was angry that I had to go back to work. So I punished myself, I ate a shitton of pizza. I very quickly gained weight back and fast forward to today, I'm almost back up to where I started. Recently I've done some selfwork and am in a really good mental space right now. And have set the wheels in motion to get the surgery....FOR REAL THIS TIME. I could have had it a couple years ago, but allowed my husband to talk me out of it. I told him, this time, he doesn't get to say. I've tried to do it on my own and I failed. I need this tool to keep me focused and honest. I truly believe that 25 years ago, I wasn't ready to get this done and would have failed. I'm ready to do this now! I'm not the most patient person, but let the 6 months (or hopefully less) begin!!!! I've gone through seminar, I meet with the surgeon in July. My PCP is on board. The hubs is actually on board. I've quit smoking (sooo hard!) and next is quitting Diet Coke. Thanks for letting me share!!!

I chickened out too the first time 5 years ago. Had done the 6 month diet and everything. But this time I was bound to make my life better, make me better. I didn't want to hurt anymore, didnt want to be scare of diabetes or cholesterol problems. You have to make the decision that's gonna make you the happiest and healthiest. I had gastric sleeve on july 14th and it was a hard recovery, but I feel better now than I've felt in a long time. I'm at a 49 pound loss and my knees can tell, lol. Two pants sizes down too. The journey will be long and tedious sometimes, but have faith in yourself and be patient w yourself. You can do it!!!!

  3. Hi,

I'm about a month and a week out from surgery. Two weeks ago I started alot of cramping and nausea. After that I began vomiting everyday, sometimes multiple times a day. I don't each or drink much so I have no energy especially w the vomiting. Got a gi series done Wednesday and it said I was healing fine. No hernia, leaks, or anything. Could I be low in something? I had bloodwork done Friday but wont know anything until Monday. Anybody else experience this? I swear I have been miserable since having my sleeve done.

  4. Hi,

I am four weeks out and feel sick all the time. I have never gotten in my liquids or Proteins because everytime I drink or eat I get a cramping in my stomach. The thought of more Protein Shakes make me nauseous. At this point I cant stand anything with a sweet taste. My stomach really cramps at night. I have had problems w Constipation but now take Miralax. I had gone to the er for fluids last week also. I'm really trying not to regret this surgery but I'm sick of feeling like this!!! Can anyone provide any insight?

  5. I’m the same way I’m on purées food but I’m not eating really although I’m starving. I had my sleeve 7/14 I’m losing very slow. I have trouble getting my Protein and my liquids and I barely have energy! I wanna eat too that’s the worst of it
    Hi,
I had my surgery on the 14th as well. I cant really stomach anything either. I haven't gotten in my liquids or Proteins on any day. I can't do Protein Shakes or anything artificially sweetened. I finally went to the hospital tonight and got an IV. They took xrays and said everything looked fine. I'm just hoping this feeling stops soon.

  6. Incision pain is much better now. It still hurts where the big incision is but not to that point anymore. Belly button still burns at night for some reason. I have by two week appointment with my surgeon on Tuesday. Btw how long before liquids stop causing gas pains when they go down? It's like I sip, then automatically get gas pains in my chest, stomach and back. Then I burp and am alright. Makes be not want to drink.

  7. So I was sleeved on the 14th and from the start have had terrible incision pain on my right side. After a couple of days it seemed to have gotten better, but for the last two days I have cried from the pain. Even burning pain in my belly button. The incisions look good and I don't have a fever on anything. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do besides walking and pain meds? Is there a reason some people seem to heal so quickly? Does it depend on your surgeon's instruments? Thank you for your help in advance.
