Nope. You have to overeat pretty consistently in order to permanently stretch your sleeve.

Today is my 2 week post op (June 29) and I am now cleared to swim and eat mushies and I am so glad to be able to get Protein from other sources than shakes BUT I have felt guilty all day every time I put something in my mouth thinking I am overdoing it.
Here is what I had all day: A banana for Breakfast, 1 egg scrambled with moz cheese and mushrooms for lunch and 1/2 hamburger patty for dinner (no roll) plus Water in between meals. I'm down 25.5 since my pre-op diet (15.5 since surgery). My husband thinks I'm crazy and says I'm doing great. I'm guessing I will get used to eating real food and that guilty feeling will go away.

I felt awful the first 4 days after surgery... A lot of nausea and dizziness. I wasn't prepared for it bc I never had that type of reaction to surgery and thought I'd spring right up. On the 5th day I woke up feeling 100% better. Just rest and once you're feeling better you can become more active. Good luck!

Yea...I know...it's ridiculous. My own mother is even jealous and very rude when she talks to me about it. None of them wanted me to have it. All tried to talk me out of it this time and had succeeded at talking me out of it for the last 10 years. I ignored them this time and didn't tell them until I had it scheduled. Well...none of them called or texted or came by to check in on me once this past week. I've been fat my whole life. Fatter than everyone of my friends and family members. If it were about my health and the risks I could understand their anger as concern but they didn't show up and weren't there for me so that tells me it's just jealousy. My husband says they don't want me to be skinny while they stay fat and miserable and they certainly don't want me to be smaller than them. Who knows...I just know I'm moving on and finding new friends and well as far as my mom...she's never been a normal mother and it's not like I'm losing something great if she never talks to me again.
(Yes, I probably need therapy but having this surgery has been a huge breakthrough for me. I am finally doing something for myself which is huge and I'm not alone because my husband, daughter and siblings are super supportive. So if this surgery shows me who my real friends are then it's helping me with more than just my health and weight.) I'll be ok.

I'm 7 days out and other than just a little soreness from my big incision area, I'm great. I had actually forgot about the sleeve twice yesterday when I tried to chug water.. your will recover exponentially over the first week.. it's unreal. The body is amazing at healing, I feel guilty for what I have put mine through for so long. Plus the weight is peeling off.. steadily. ...

Yummy mushroom broth with bits of tofu and seaweed. Usually served at Japanese sushi bars. Very soothing even when you're not recovering from surgery. Be sure to blend it like @@barbado mentioned earlier. Oh and you can find it in little packets at Walmart. It's really worth a try if you've never had it. May sound gross but it is really good.

I actually find the list of what I need to take in a bit overwhelming so I am just gettong as close as I can. I do feel a lot better now than I did this morning and am grateful for that. I think taking my Vitamins helped a lot.

Ok. So I'm not sure what just happened but it's like a switch was flipped to "on" in my intestines. "Everything" is back up and running properly and suddenly I can sip without burping and even get in two ounces within 20 minutes without having to stop for the acid to go down. I am one happy sleever right now!
Even managed to catch up on office work from home, edit some photos from the wedding I photographed for a client last week and do some laundry. Now I'm really tired, full and functioning well. Gonna take a well deserved nap.
Hope all of you are having a good day.

That could definitely be how your head was placed during surgery but also could be caused by dehydration or just not enough rest. The light isn't very far away. You've got this! Just sip & rest and call your doc if anything gets worse or doesn't change after a couple of days.

You need to stay in bed! There's no hurry. Try to hydrate the best you can. Sometimes it's the narcotics that cause the dry heaves. And that's got to hurt! Hang in there!

    Hi everyone,
Got back from the cruise! I am 2 1/2 month post op.
Let me start with the abundance of food was not the problem at all. I was never hungry. Nor did it bother me seeing others EAT!!!
Since I was afraid of dumping or not tolerating the food I was basically eating tuna salad, cheeses, Soups, crackers, and my Premier Protein shake.
Whenever my family and I dined in their specialty restaurants I would order Soup. Like I said I do hav issues chewing and tolerance of the food.
I went thru NCL and I brought in 2 cases of Water and a case of my liquid Protein Shake. Always got off with my portable cooler that had Water, tuna kits, shakes, and a banana.
    And lost 2 pounds!!!
Hope this helps for those of u cruising so soon after surgery.

I have BCBS fep (I'm in Texas as well) and my dr took pictures and write a letter saying it was medically necessary. Around two weeks later it was approved.
I searched for a doctor who was willing to do the belly button as well.
I'm 25 and wasn't willing to have a stomach even more deformed. I'm glad I did because i found a very trustworthy surgeon who I will be going back to for my other procedures.

Hello Buddies! I am just over 3 wks post op band to sleeve all in one swoop. I'm down 25 lbs from the post op shakes until now. I'm not really losing much now but I think that's because I'm having a difficult time getting enough Protein. Otherwise, my recovery has been pretty smooth sailing and I was back at work after 1 week. I too had a lot of scar tissue surrounding my port as well as hiatal hernia repair during which seems to be a common trend I have read. Looking to find some support from others going through this process ☺
