  1. I suffer from Migraines & they have been under control for the past 4 months

But for some reason this morning I was woken up by a Migraine that usually puts me in er for a shot to relieve the pain.

I am hoping this dont mess me up for surgery on Friday.

    I see my surgeon today.

Anyone else deal with migraines any & all advice welcome please & thank you

  2. I just had my appointment with my surgeon yesterday for a revision from a band. He scheduled me for July 13! I'm super excited, but a little nervous I'm in over my head because I have two little girls and my husband is gone for the summer.

I say the samething I feel like I bite off more then I can chew. I dont have little girls but my daughter has epilepsy & I just found out my son that was going to be helping me why I recover his deployment date has moved up yet again but this date is set in stone :-(

    Stay strong & keep positive

  3. I am scheduled for this morning. Yesterday the hospital called and said my chest x-ray looked like I had pneumonia! I am still in shock. I have no symptoms. I asked the woman twice if she had the correct files.

Called my surgeon right away and he looked over my blood work and said it did not look like I had pneumonia.

So his morning I have to have another chest x-ray to determine if I am okay for surgery. I am fine with waiting, but part of me is disappointed. This has been an off and on, start and stop journey of a year so far. Maybe the rest will be a breeze in comparison!

Hope all is good & u get to go forward as planned

    Thoughts & prayers r with u

I had another x-ray, and all was clear! Had my surgery, and am so happy!!! Only minor gas pain, which was helped by my husband gently patting my back! Thank yo for the thoughts and prayers! I am ecstatic!

So glad EVERYTHING worked out & U r doing well. (Hope my pain is very little????)

I have a busy rest of the month after surgery so no time for pain!!

  5. I had my sleeve done yesterday. I've been very sleepy from the anesthesia and in some pain, but it's manageable. Toughest is drinking. I get a cramping sensation and I can feel the air moving around.

I just did three laps in the corridors to get the gas moving.

Yay!!! You had it done! That's awesome. I worry so much about the pain after (I'm a big baby). Speaking of babies - I had a csection before does it feel worse than that (assuming you had one or does anyone know?). Did you have that X-ray thing yet where you have to swallow contrast media to see if there is a leak? Does your surgeon do that? And if so was it nasty/hard to swallow? Congrats for walking so much ! Yay !!!! Keep us posted. We are all nervous. I'm July 29.

I had a c section before I go in on Friday thr 10th I will let you know if its as bad as that was (reminded me plz)

  6. I used to be able to drink litres of diet pepsi at a time but am really struggling with getting my Water in on this pre-op diet! I'm only a couple days into the pre-op and plain water is hard going down. Anyone else finding the same thing? I think I need to go take a walk again to make myself thirsty! I'm kinda glad I'm practicing now before the surgery.

If plain water is boring to u jazz it up a bit (mint leaves, lemon slices, cucumber slices, ginger) put in water at nite drink thur out the day. I have a strainer kind of bottle so all the goodies just float in water.(If not eating goodies & just drinking water its still liquid diet but u may want to check with ur dr)

I have more too if u want but this ia my favorite????

I am a bad when it comes to water I drink 2 gallons a day

  7. I have been smokefree since July last yr after 30+ yrs everyone is different vapors didnt work for me(I used to cut back) didnt like the patch, so I bought 1pack of cigarettes & said this will be my last & it was.

I had a friend that smoked 3packs a day for yrs dr bet her she couldn't cut back to 1 pack a day to prove him wrong she walked out of his office grabbed the tape & taped her cigarette she found she didnt need to light it just have it in her hand not only did she quit that way she won the bet with her DR LOL

  8. @lovingmomof3

I don't know of any exercises that shrink your skin.

And I used to be a bodybuilder.

Our "shrinkles" will continue to shrink a bit for a year or two after we reach our goal and maintain there (says a plastic surgeon I talked to).

Tone is the word I quess I should have used

I have a friend that lost all the sagging skin on her arms after being over 595 lbs now down to 295 with exercise

  9. So on June 9th i got the approval from my insurance for my surgery! HOORAY!! A couple days later, I got my letter in the mail and I took it over to the doctors office, she told me the scheduler will be in touch with me to set up my surgery date and the last of the pre-surgery testing. That was almost 3 weeks ago. Ive called several times inquiring as to what the hold up is, but they keep telling me they have to coordinate the testing to be done on the same morning. I get that, I guess. But at the same time, the waiting is KILLING me. Im ready to move on from all of this. Im ready to be on the losers bench. Im ready to start living the new me. I try to focus on whats going on now, keeping busy, making sure ive got everything organized and arranged for when surgery does roll around and most importantly, im keeping a watchful eye on my diet and exercise. This process has been a year in the making as of this month. Its been a difficult rollercoaster for sure.

"Good things come to those who wait" seems like my never ending mantra lately.

Is this a normal length of time to wait to get surgery scheduled after approval? Or am i just that impatient? lol

I got really lucky with my drs office they worked with me from day 1 I told them my son is military & he will be taking care of me after surgery & he deploys this summer so they scheduled everything around my son's leave, that is also I think why I am not 1 bit nervous about anything cuz I know I am in great hands they call & check up on u all the time & make sure u know exactly where u stand with insurance appoval they told me 2 weeks it only took 2 days ????

    Blessed on this discussion

Hope u get ur surgery date soon

  11. I started my journey in February of this year. Just last Thursday paperwork for pre-certification was finally sent to Anthem. On Monday, 6/29 I received a "form" letter stating they needed additional clinical information, basic stuff like what meds I'm on. I called the surgeons office who told me they had sent Anthem 56 pages, that included everything being asked for. I called Anthem, who told me "oh, we send that letter to everyone". Like it was a "we received your inquiry, we'll be in touch note", instead of a letter stating my precerticiation is pending. She then said all 56 pages had been received and were on "Nurse Mike's" desk for review, and would take up to 15 days from date of receipt (06/25). I just wonder, is this a stall tactic? Did anyone else receive one of these letters? Why would they send it before even looking at the documentation submitted by insurance. Just feeling frustrated....Candy

The nurse at my Dr office told me insurance companies do this sometimes because they dont want to pay BUT ur Drs office will get the ok have faith

    & keep pushing.
