As a child and young adult I was pretty average based on pictures, but was always called the "chubby" one.  My sister and brother were both somewhat thinner than me.  It wasn't until close to 30 when I started putting on weight and 30 seems to be that age where the body starts changing and making it harder to keep weight off.  Now almost 20 years later I have several health conditions related to obesity and I want to be around awhile longer.  I had been contemplating WLS for at least the past 3 to 4 years.  My previous insurance would only cover the gastric bypass and I did not feel that was the surgery for me so I changed insurance in January and made my first appointment with Oregon Weight Loss Surgery and Dr Emma Patterson on February 6, 2015.  Surgery was on June 10, 2015 and I'm down 19lbs since that first visit.
