  1. yes, your swelling is going down and it will let you know a fill is around the corner
  2. OMG, OMG:eek: Diane you couldn't have said it better. I never realized that Ii didn't chew my food until the band. Eloquently put. I have been there too. Now I respect my band.
  3. I got my first fill today and it went well. My doctor told me to go back to liquids and mushies. Definitely ate less tonight and felt great restriction:eek:. I was a little stagnant with my weight this past week.
  4. My doctor filled me today for the first time and told me to go back to liquids and mushies. Great advice as my big eyes for dinner ate a few bites of pizza :eek:which I wanted to be a liquid in my book wasn't and I PBd it. So I broke out the shake.
  5. Wow! WHat a great NSV. I can't wait to wear my engagement ring and wedding bands again. It has been quite a while. Thanks for the reminder. i am going to dig them out and keep trying.
  6. I just had my first fill today and had no problems. Was eating a bit more in the past week. Doctor said to go back to mushies and wow I am definitely restricted now. It is great.
  7. Janet, Obviously you looked into it thoroughly. Good luck with your procedure. It will be money well spent. They won't even pay on appeal if they have a bariatric exclusion. See you on the loser's bench.
  8. Yes but isn't it nice to think that that is why you had port pain, over jeans rubbing and bending down to pick up something from the floor? Rest up.:sneaky:
  9. My jeans from preop are now loose. They had 15lbs of baloney in a 5 pound sack and now they fit great. Movie theatre seat feels like I have more room. My friends and co workers noticing my weight loss. Bras fit better. I noticed more inches down than pounds and still feel great!!!!
  10. Hang in there!!! We all went through it. Some easier than others. I was Aetna too and had to document 5-6 years back and had a 5 mos waiting period. Just plug through and it will come. It will be approved before you know it. It is such a common surgery now that a lot of the insurances try to do it to avoid paying by weeding out those that are borderline or not candidates. If you get a denial after all this, consider switching insurances if it is available to you. A girl at my job switched just ot have the surgery as her prior one didn't even cover bariatric surgery.:sneaky:
  11. I have to make an appt this week for a fill. I could'nt go last week. I am now getting more foods down and am looking forward to a restriction increase. Anyone have a first fill? How did it go?
  12. Good luck with the procedure. I hope it won't be any of your expense.
  13. Good Luck fireleo on your surgery!!! See you on the loser's bench!!!

  15. My first fill is on March 6th. I hope my doctor does the first one under flouro.:biggrin2:
  16. Fire leo, good Luck with you surgery tomorrow!!!
  17. Fortress at walmart. Vanilla flavor. Chocolate was gross. i add nonsweetened cocoa mix by hershey to it for chocolate fix. As vanilla alone it is great too. You could add any flavorings to the vanilla base to change it, whey protein 46gms in 2 scoops, very low 4 carb?
  18. My doctor said to drink all through out the day to get in the required fluids. He told me not to drink with meals so to maintain the full feeling longer of my foods. He also as well as the nutritionist stated not to drink 45-1hour before and after a meal.It is rough. The otherday I thought I could handle a little rice and I guess the first few bites and chews were tiny but than the others got bigger and they all caught up at my stomach inlet and Yawzzza:eek:I felt a big pain and didn't know whether to drink water and vomit it up or drink a few sips of water and wait for it to go down. i waited with the water but it was uncomfortable. I will never do that again , and I wasn't supposed to have rice either.I'm on mushies and on Monday I start foods.
  19. I wish you a great post op. She was at least honest, but you took a chance. I am soooo glad it worked out for you. She knew it was iffy. The cut might have only been a small wound or you wouldn't have been able to have surgery so soon. The diaphragm once closed heals pretty quickly
  20. sorry although for good news, I know you're disappointed. It will come again soon
  21. Tracyd730, It goes soooo fast, you'd be surprised. Look at it like this, we waited this long to make the decision, a few more months won't hurt. I was for the summer, moved due to insurance 6 mos wait. Than for jan7, than moved for feb 4th and finally banded feb 4th. It was annoying but well worth the wait.Good luck and hang in there
  22. Congratulations and welcome to Bandland. HAppy Valentines Day! Sounds like you're doing great!!
  23. Ditto and Happy Valentines Day! Victorious Valentines!!!!
  24. I had the same problem. My doctor told me you can become intorerant and need to have only skim milk, nonfat yogurt, and try lactaid. Ask your doctor first though or go back to the nutritioist with some questions.
  25. Happy Valentine's Day to the Victorious Valentines!!!!
