  1. I took a nap today too -- and I am not a napper. Carbs will also help you feel less sluggish. And it is hard to not feel sluggish with all that surgery Fluid still in our bodies! I'm eager for that to go away since it is so uncomfortable. But overall this is so much better than I expected. How long are you taking off work? I was planning to go back on Wednesday, 1 week after surgery but now I'm wondering if I will have the mental focus and energy required. At lest my job is not physical.

  2. I was glad to stay 2 days and it was what I expected. Today is day 3 and I am home. First day with pain but meds will help when they kick in. I too was scared i would not make it through surgery but my surgeon told me he had never lost anyone or had serious complications. Still, any surgery has risks so it is great to be on this side of it. Now, getting used to being back home, trying to keep the puppy from jumping on my stomach and remembering to keep drinking those 1 oz cups of Protein. I had thought I'd get a lot of work done during this time at home and brought home work from the office but so far my attention span is not letting me do more than respond to emails and on here. So be it!

  3. Congratulations. You are awesome!!! And I know what you mean--- I can't wait to be overweight. Isn't it amazing that a size 8 can be considered overweight! I started at 22/24/3x just like you. Got to 1x presurgery. I still have my postsurgery weight gain (just got home from hospital yesterday) and will be ecstatic when I get to size 8. Way to go!!!!

  4. Someone had said that day 3 was the hardest and it is starting out that way. Maybe its from sleeping in my own bed and not having IV pain meds all night but today is the first day that I don't feel well. Just took oxycodeine for first time (I had hoped to avoid that but its needed today.) Hoping this gets better soon. Have any of you felt this on3rd day and if so, how long did pain last?

  5. That makes total sense to me. I started at 272 and lost 32 lbs prior to surgery so was 240 at surgery. I'm wondering what my weight will be once this surgery Fluid leaves my body and I have another few weeks of liquid only. My goal is 140 although i would be filled with joy to even get to 160.

First day home from hospital so it is early to bed for me. Hope you are doing well.

  6. 25 lbs in 9 days is incredible and sounds very very fast. It does sound like you are struggling with your liquids. I was told not to get Gummy Vitamins -- just chewables. Have you tried muscle milk? I like the light chocolate and the banana creme (although that has more calories so might just be good during this phase of the program. Mostly I mix gatorade with chocolate powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury to get in my carbs and Proteins. My favorite presurgery was the Unjury chicken Soup. Will probably try that again tonight. I think the warmth will feel good. Please take care of yourself. You don't want to be dehydrated or malnourished! That is dangerous. Make yourself drink more even if you don't want to. You are worth it!!!! If you get more Protein and carbs you will start to feel better.

  7. Back home from surgery. All went so well. Hate seeing that 10 lb post surgery gain but I know it will be gone soon. Grammytot -- I started looking into this when I turned 65. Also a wonderful gift to myself. I'm hoping to get of BP meds and to see knee and back improvement as the weight drops. So excited that you lost 64 lbs in just 5 months. That is awesome!

  8. I'm home! Surgery went great. So much easier than I expected with no complications and no pain. I'll be glad to sleep in my own bed tonight with no needles attached to my arm! It is so encouraging to see all the great weight loss on here. I expected the 10 lb after surgery Water gain but hate seeing that number back on the scale. Eager to be a loser! Thanks for your support. Glad to be in this together!

  9. I wish you the best. I just got home from the hospital. My surgery was on the 10th. So far it has been so much easier than I ever expected. No complications. No pain. No problems. I'm glad to be home and at the same time felt like I got great care at the hospital. Hard to deal with the 10 lb gain but I was forewarned and I know that will go away now that I'm not getting IV fluids. I hope yours goes as well and look forward to making progress together on this site. Best to you.

  10. I'm 5'2.5" (but wanted to join here despite that extra 1/2 inch!) and I am having my surgery in 3 hours (just about to take those 3 hours before surgery pills.) Excited and scared. Seeing the amounts of weight you have all lost is so encouraging. I've lost 34 lbs presurgery and have about 100 to go to get to a really fantastic weight. I'll be very happy if I lose 80 more. Now - to get through today and the next few days -- then I'll be back home and ready to post and read and learn and be buddies with all of you. Wish me luck!
