  1. My daughter is in girl scouts too! She's a brownie. The last during dinner a few nights I've rearranged furniture (lol), cleaned a bathroom closet, refolded all my kids clothes in their messy drawers, and I started keeping a journal so I'll write in that sometimes. Today's my 3rd day and so far it hasn't been so bad we will see when it's cooking time. ????

  2. I believe I was truly meant to see this post, I start my 2 week pre op diet first thing in the morning, and I just finished my last meal, came home and packed my "lunch" for tomorrow and decided to see what I could read before I get ready for bed.

My husband and I live east of Houston, and I just made my husband go out in the "storm" so I could have my favorite thing Mexican food, for my last meal. I have not and did not pig out tonight, matter of fact I did really good, except for the chips and green sauce I had. That was my cheat.

I have the Lap Band and I am being revised to the sleeve on July 1st. I have had my band since 2003. So I did a 3 day liquid diet before my band, but no where as strict as the liquid diet I will start tomorrow!

I do am very worried about the next few weeks, but my BFF did this same thing last year and she keeps telling me after the first 4 days it gets easier, and I can believe that, just worried about those first 4 days!!! :)

Now that I am done rambling, I just want to say, thank you... Just reading your post encouraging Roseluv3 and others, has also made me feel like I can do this! Here we go!!

Awww your so sweet! We can do this (well we actually have to do this). So today is day 3 and I'm trying to stay positive, active, and sane. Everyone keeps telling me that each day gets better and I'm gonna believe that. Good luck to you, you got this! ????

  3. Today is my third day on a 14 day liquid diet and I'm not gonna lie its been tough. I have three small children and a husband so I'm constantly giving them food. I was giving the girls dinner last night and I literally had Water in my eyes, not because I was hungry buy because I knew I couldn't have that. So I just dealt with dinner for them and then wrote my feelings down in a journal and that helped. You can do it, take each day at a time, look for surviving that day lol.

  4. I'm on day 7 of a two week pre op, and honestly, taking my chewable Vitamin has been the highlight of my life this past week...LOL! It does get easier, though the first few days were miserable! Bout you'll get through it! And when I've been craving salt, chicken broth has really helped! I'm sure you'll do great! Good luck with your surgery!

Thank you! I totally agree about chewing the Vitamins, lol....that's sad though huh. Good luck to you as well!

  5. Hey! So today is my first day on my 14 day pre-op liquid diet (Protein shakes, broth, Water, Jello, and popsicles) and it's only 2:00 (Boston) and I think this is gonna be tougher than i thought. I don't know if I'm actually hungry or if it's knowing that I can't "chew" thats the tough part. Reality check will set in when I have to prepare dinner for my family.

I'm on day 5! It gets so much better. broth is what I look forward too for dinner. Swanson makes flavored broths now. They are so good. Or I just strain a can of low sodium Soup. That adds a lot more flavor. :) good luck!

Im hoping each day gets easier, and I know it will it's just mind over matter. I agree about the broth, I look forward to it after all the sweet stuff. Thank you! Good luck to you as well.

  6. My husband just finished week 1 of his 2 week post op diet. For the first 3-4 days he was grouchy and fatigued, but by day 4 or 5 he started to regain energy and wasn't quite as irritable. Hang in there. I realize that this is extremely difficult but remind yourself of the road ahead and the goals that you have for yourself. I start my pre-op diet in 3 weeks, and have been on a ketosis diet before, so I'm not looking forward to the restriction.

I did Keto before too but this is like extreme restriction, lol. I think it's just knowing that I can't eat that's the hard part. 2-6 pm is my tough time. The kids are home from school, they want a snack, then I have to get dinner ready. I'm gonna serve my family and then find something to do. Im hoping each day gets easier.

  7. I've tried my fair share of Protein powder. So my surgeon advice me to drink a low card low sugar Protein Powder. So I've tried:

Bariatric Advantage vanilla powder (not bad, I like it mixed with milk. I like to add PB2, or 1 or 2 strawberries)

    Isopure Cookies and cream

(Weird smell, but okay...again with PB2 it's better)

    Premier Protein chocolate (so good)

Bariatric fusion chocolate (tried it with Water today and wasn't a fan, but will have it with milk tomorrow and it will hopefully be better.

I am looking into trying the Syntrax nectar flavors....especially the fruit ones mixed with Water. I also have a Bariatric Fusion strawberry that I will try probably tomorrow.

  8. I can have Protein Shakes, broth, sugar free Jello, and sugar free popsicles, along with Water. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Lol. I have the vanilla Bariatric Advantage and have been using it for a while with the PB2, it's not bad but it helps. The other day I threw a few strawberries in the blender with the powder and it tasted like a strawberry milkshake.
