    I didn't lose my friend due to weight loss, I lost her because she doesn't want me to lose the weight. Her self-image and ego have always been fed by the fact that she has always been considered the "pretty one" and has even self-proclaimed this on one occasion where I now regret not ending the friendship and saving myself from her huge ego then. Recently, upon learning of my plans for surgery, she actually stated very clearly that she "doesn't think we can be friends if I am thinner and prettier than her." A 30 year friendship down the drain because I've just realized I've ignored for a very long time that she is extremely shallow. Not all women are this way. Only shallow, inconsiderate, narcissistic people (both men & women) are like this. This is occasionally the same reaction you would get from jealous, self-loathing, needy people. Both types are not good friends.
    I have come to terms with the loss of the old me. The old me is not this brave and strong. I have just begun my journey but I am determined to lose the weight that has dragged me down for years and I intend to lose all of the bad friends who dragged me down too.
    I keep reminding myself that "Surrounding yourself with positive, supportive and kind people is also a healthy habit." And this whole journey to finding the new me is all about creating and maintaining healthy habits for the rest of my life.
    Oh...and one last thing...take her comment and cold shoulder as a compliment. You are now the "pretty one" and that's not such a bad thing either.

    I just graduated in May! My major was dance education with a minor in special education- dance team and classes are big in high school in Texas! So not only do I get to teach, I get to workout for my job - which will be so much easier now!!

    I've made it to overweight and left obesity BMI behind! Woo hoo. Today was five week mark, down 21 pounds from SW. I can eat small amounts of nearly anything, but I'm keeping things soft. Haven't tried any vegetables other than those cooked really well and mashable. I cannot imagine eating raw vegetables or a salad. I always loved salads....I can honestly say I am never hungry. Even head hunger is gone. I eat because I have to and when I eat I concentrate on Protein. I really don't worry about the other statistics--protein keeps me so full that carbs and fats are really relevant. LOVE my sleeve!

    Hi everyone! Happy 1 month!!
    I am down 23 pounds and 35 inches total!! Even though I'm so happy about that I think I could have lost more this past week.
    This last weekend I was moving out of my college apartment. My roommates and I moved, cleaned, and laughed about memories and I took a little break from focusing on my water/protein/carb intake. I was still very careful about HOW I ate, but since we were so busy I don't think they noticed. Since I was sad about leaving my college town, I had a few meals from my favorite places- which included A Breakfast taco (and please don't judge me) which included the homemade tortilla and all. - granted it took me over 7 hours to eat it and I didn't even finish it.
    Throughout the 4 weeks I haven't been great at getting my Protein in everyday, but since I just got a membership to SAMs things are going to change! I got the 30 pack of premier shakes and a huge tub of it so I can make like a mocha frappe in my magic bullet!!
    For exercise I've been swimming and walking (especially a lot on those nights when I waitress!)
    Hope everyone is doing great and look forward to everyone's everyday progress!!!

    Have to tell you all I bought a veggeti maker from Walmart and tried it tonight to make zucchini and squash noodles. I made two small different dishes for my family out of 2 zucchini and 3 small squash. I sautéed half in olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic until browned and OMG!! That was sooo good! Then I boiled the rest and covered them in shrimp and a basil pesto sauce. They are loving my healthy meals. Lol
    I am having so much fun finding recipes on Pinterest for new, appetizing, low carb and high Protein foods.

    Hi All! I haven't checked in for a bit. I hurt my back right after surgery (like a week later) then received from that and then strained it again! Such a bummer when you cannot take advil. Anyway I am up and going again but very weak. I am phasing in solids now and find that the amount I can eat varies completely by what I am eating. Fish I can usually do 3-4 ozs and other kind of meat ( mostly chicken or burger patty) I can only do about 2 ozs at this point. I am eating about 600-800 cals a day but really not going above 60 grams of Protein mostly because I can't stand the Protein Drinks. I am in the middle of a stall for the past week but I am down about 20-22lbs if you count my 2-day clear liquid diet. I have been following your thread as a fellow 6/30 patient but have been so busy haven't been able to post much.
    Edited to say that I find that I can eat about 1/2 cup of egg salad or more (so I need to stay away) or only 2ozs of tuna salad or deli meat like ham or turkey. I am going to try to stay away from the foods like egg salad since I can eat much more of that and focus on the ones that give me more restriction. I am also thinking of experimenting with different things to make my tuna salad with like avocado instead of lf mayo.

    Hey everyone, I'm on soft foods, tilapia,tuna salad,scrambled eggs, humus,bean dip, etc..
    Still doing at least one Protein shake a day for protien, I found primere protien shakes @@sam's that have 30g 160 calories and very few carbs. $15 for 12 shakes.< /p>
    I've also been utilizing the P3 protien packs, grilled chicken variety. Walmart has a coupon currently that makes them only $1. They are 11g protien and 110 calories, the fill me up and are tasty.

    How much have you lost so far? & What stage are you in on your diet?I'm about to move to solids on the 29th. I think I'm stalling and then the scale drops again. I know it will slow down eventually but I'm loving that right now if I don't lose a pound today I will lose one or two tomorrow. Gonna be bummed when this stops cuz this has been fun to watch. Lol
    I finally have some energy again. Not enough to do much more than swim but I am so happy I can finally work and clean my house without feeling as if I'll faint at any moment.
    I'm still under 300 calories a day and struggling to get in 40g of Protein a day but I feel good. Clothes are getting loose and week 4 looks like it'll be a good one.
    My bday was Saturday and I celebrated by eating a half of a boiled crab and 1 1/2 shrimp. I was sooo happy and full. Lol
    I am totally loving my sleeve right now!

    Hey folks! Four weeks out tomorrow! How's everyone doing? Anyone else hit the three week stall? I didn't, it came in the fourth! Overall, my weight loss has slowed to a creep.

    Wow. You're more adventurous than I am. I'm kind of scared. I did have. One ounce of chicken cooked with diced tomatoes, carrots and green Beans. I cut it up in micro pieces and chewed the 20 bites at least 20 times! It was fabulous and I felt better than I had since surgery. I still drink 4-5 Protein punches and lemonades, a day so I'm getting at least 80 grams of protein. I'm just sooo ready for more nutritious food!

    Have to vent: I was just watching Good Morning America and they were talking about 3 women who lost 100+ pounds each and the anchor said "these women who lost weight without surgery or short cuts" - makes me mad.

    I've had all of those including white beans and red beans (tho those didn't agree with me) and added a few more slowly the last few days. I started by just having avocado with my eggs. That was so good. Then I tried Peanut Butter and stayed sick for hours. Last night I had soft turkey & soy meatballs with avocado ranch dressing so they weren't too dry. Those were pretty good but then I had them again today and threw up because oddly the last bite tasted like fish. (Not sure what happened there)I've also had a P3 Protein pack. I really like the grilled chicken strips with ranch but could only eat two from the pack. Tonight I ate with my family and had about a fourth of a piece of the Gordon's tilapia with two small garlic & herb shrimp and one piece of broccoli. (I couldn't eat it all but it tasted sooo good)
    I can have any soft, easy to chew (to almost puréed) meats and I can have veggies as long as they are almost mushy from boiling or steaming. I still try to drink at least half of a Protein Shake each day. I haven't made it over 400 calories yet but haven't been hungry...I just make sure I enjoy the taste and it's got a lot of protein in it if I'm gonna eat it. Otherwise there is no point in wasting the space in my stomach. Lol

    Haha- my shirts are getting longer too! Also, I've had three other signs of my weight loss- 1. my husband but his leg over my thigh the other night while we were sleeping and I woke up because it pinched my skin. I didn't realize my thighs had started to have loose skin already! 2. (And this one may be TMI but) the crotch area in all my pants has started hanging so low that I had to wonder if my crotch shrunk or my stomach shrunk so much it can't hold them up anymore. Lmao.
    3. My boobs stick out further than my stomach finally!! Hahaha
    Down 30lbs and finally seeing a difference.
    Eating normal (soft) food again and feeling great!! Yay!! So glad we all did this!!

    I asked my Dr about "stalls" and he said the only stalls that come your first year are by people weighing themselves too much.. he did say that at about 12-16 months our bodies will recalibrate and the weight at that time will become our new set point.. take it for what it's worth...

    I really don't want to come across as bragging- but I'm just too excited I have to share! Stepped on the scale today and I'm down a little over 20 pounds in 20 days! I'm amazed! I know this fast paced weight loss isn't going to last forever (and I haven't hit my first stall yet - so that should be coming soon) but I'm just so happy about our choice to change our lives!
    To be totally cliche: it may not always be easy but it is so worth it!

    @bnm4. I only can tolerate 1/2 scoop or it affects the flavor and texture. I really like adding it to Tomato basil Soup. Kind of makes it feel like I'm eating spaghetti sauce rather than just soup. But I add it to yogurt and cottage cheese as well. I try to keep each meal under 25 grams of Protein because I hear you don't absorb any more than that at one time.
