  1. GENERL QUESTION: I'm getting tired of everything chocolate.....but scared to try other things that has high protein. I'm only 29 days out from surgery and need to get my protein in. Can anyone/everyone please tell me some things you do to at least get 40 grams of protein in???? Thank you all in advance!

Do you mean something other than protein shakes ? Im not sure where you are food wise, are you on mushies or solids ?

I stick with vanilla shakes and add sugar free syrups to change it up a bit.

my routine has been shake (premier protein) in the morning, chicken/salmon/scallops for lunch (one of those), teriyaki turkey jerky snack, and then whatever protein I make for dinner. I don't eat any sides right now, as getting water and protein are most important. For treats I have fudgecicles or SF popcicles. May sound boring to some, but I am thrilled with the results!

  2. FYI!! I know this has more than likely been discussed but I haven't seen it! I have been wanting something fruity to drink so I went to the sonic becasue I knew they had slushes made with Splenda. Well I orderd a DIET CHERRY SLUSH.....don't be fooled by the word DIET! The car hop informed me that the flavored syrup was sugar free but the slush mix (the clear mix they make all the slushes with) IS NOT SUGAR FREE!! Needless to say, I sent it back!! I feel deceived!! I have drank them before surgery before and that is why I knew they had them, but I had NEVER been told that they are really NOT surgar free!! Just letting y'all know!! :))

  5. Hey my sleeved friends! I'm 4 days post op, 11 lbs down, and feeling really great. Today I start on full liquids and so excited, however I have not felt hungry at all. I have to make myself stay on schedule and take in what I need. This was the best decision of my life!

Congrats to both of you. Please continue to post your progress as it really helps people like me who are still waiting for their surgery date. Did either of you have any trouble with drinking water or protein drinks after your surgery?

  6. 2 more days until surgery! I'm excited, nervous, impatient, joyful, scared, thankful, blessed, giddy.....I have so many emotions going on all at one time. I'm like a kid the night before Christmas EVE!! I'm ready to get today done and go to sleep so tomorrow can be Monday!! There's lots to do the day before surgery so Monday will go by quickly...I hope!! Did I tell you how excited I am?? Lol

Good luck Belle!!! Just remember after surgery you need to be patient with your body...I am 3 weeks out and I am still on very soft foods and sometimes my new stomach tells me its not ready to have it. It takes a long time to adjust. I am very glad I did it, but it has been difficult too....

I wish you the best of luck with your surgery! I am sure you will do fantastic. See you on the other side! I also was like you, way more excited than scared. It is something to be excited about for sure.

  7. I'm so excited! I just signed back up for Tae Kwon Do to start at the end of August once I'm released after my 8 weeks post surgery. It's something that I have always wanted to go back to and could never see doing again! My surgery is scheduled for June 30th and I already feel as though I have a new lease on life!! It's so freeing!

  8. Hey y'all, I just signed up with https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/5379894 I figured I would start building my wardrobe now so I will have it when I need it. My friend does this and she said it's like Christmas once a month. With us shrinking and needing new clothes eventually.....I thought this would be fun to try. Stitch Fix is a personal shopper who sends you 5 clothing items a month. You pay $20 to have them shop for you and if you keep all 5 items they give you a 25% discount on the total plus your $20 monthly shopping fee goes towards your total as well. But you don't have to keep all 5 items....but you will not get a discount...or if you don't want to keep any you can ship them all back...they pay shipping not you. All you lose is $20 if you don't keep anything...which I blow more than that a month. Plus you can always skip a month if you want, or you can totally cancel your monthly subscription anytime. I just thought this would be fun to at least try..... and wanted to share with all of you ladies who would like a personal shopper! My surgery isn't until June 30th and I have my first shipment coming July 30th....I probably won't fit in what they send me first right off, but at least I will have it when I can!! Losing weight is finally going to make shopping for clothes actually fun for a change!

CAll your insurance and ask to speak to the pre-certification department and ask if they need anything additional to get your approval done.

  12. Waiting to hear if I am approved by my insurance is the absolute worse! I know it's something we all have to deal with.....but it's getting to the point where I'm not sleeping! Anyone else out there with me?
