  1. HI Davis, I am so sorry to hear you are struggling so much! I know that most of us go through a case of depression right about where you are at . Some its very mild and short others its a real struggle. I promise you are just experiencing what a whole lot of people do at this stage. You have a 'brand new" stomach and it is still healing. It may take some time before you can get off the PPI's , especially if you were on them pre-op. The proton pumps get used to not having to work so they take time to get restarted. Sometimes its just having a very sensitive stomach as my husband does not have a weight problem but takes prevacid 2x a day for the last 20+ years. Don't give up! Everyone has a trial and error phase where you have to try things slowly and see what does and doesn't agree with you. As far as taking laxatives, it is quite normal to only have to go once every couple or 3 days as we aren't putting that much in to our bodies. If its the Iron giving you issues, try a stool softener instead of a laxative. I hope I have helped and not frustrated you more

Sleeved June10th 2015 and STILL at a stall!

I have a feeling that whatever is going on with your GYN problem could be the culprit. I would insist on seeing someone on call if you have been flowing that long, I would not wait another two weeks. As far as the advice of not using any artificial sweetners I have never heard that advice that it stops weight loss. My paperwork says crystal light and sugar free stuff all over it. I use mio drops and crystal light all day long and I seem to be on track. Is there some research that I could read that proves that theory? Not being argumentative, seriously curious.

Slow loss @ 7 week post op

My NUT still teaches the carbs are the devil. When you say carbs are you talking naturally in the veggies and Protein? I have completely warded off basically anything white, like Pasta, rice, bread etc. Just curious as to what type of carbs you are meaning?

How long will this feeling last?

It sounds like you might be eating a little too fast, its very easy to do with Soups and other mushy foods as sometimes you don't feel it filling up until you are over full. If you set your spoon down between "bites" ( hard to consider soup a bite ) I find it helps to keep you from getting over full as you let the liquid pool between "bites". I know for me, I tend to not measure liquids or mushies so its also easier to over eyeball the amount. Just my tip, not criticizing at all!

Roll call all who had surgery JUNE 2015

I was sleeved on June 8th and it seems to me I am right on track after reading all the posts. I don't know why I think I should have lost more, this is a life journey and the great news is I'm not done and it will eventually come off. I lost 9 on 2 week liquid diet then another 25 post op. I still have not gotten to the point of exercising every day, I do about every other day walk about 1.5 miles at a slow pace. I have stalled for about 3 weeks but getting excited as I figure it has to break soon! Congrats to all of you that are doing so well!

Roll call all who had surgery JUNE 2015

I also was sleeved on June 8th. I'm also at a stall. I've only lost about 3lbs in about 3 weeks. I am just now getting all my Protein in and I think that has been the major problem. I just hated the shakes so much, they tasted so bad and I couldn't get them down even with the self talk while I was doing it, I think I can etc lol. So as much as I wanted to stay on the higher quality of protein I finally caved and started using premier. They still don't taste good to me but hopefully as I go along my tastes will change. I have to keep reminding myself that this is a life journey and not a sprint so I have to keep staying positive, do the right things and eventually it will come off.

    Am I overeating?

I know there is a big difference on what surgeons and NUT recommendations are, but I find the majority seem to have the same info as I do. I struggle with the theory that our shakes are "supplements" as the goal is to get 90-120gms of Protein in a day and there is absolutely NO WAY you can Eat that much. I use my shakes as my min goal for 60gms and think of my food as a supplement. If you are only eating about 1/2 cup of food and taking bites the size of an pencil eraser 30 mins is long enough. Also most Protein drinks are not good once they have been mixed for about an hour. After that the protein starts to break down and is not as ( if at all ) effective. I find if I eat larger bites and eat faster I don't feel good and I'm hungry again sooner. Just my 2 cents worth
  12. I have never heard 1200 cals, I also was told 600-800. Two premier shakes and I get my min of 60 gms of Protein and 320 cals. Its fine to snack as long as its protein like I eat string cheese, laughing cow spreadable cheese on a wasa cracker and a teaspoon or so of natural Peanut Butter. ( at separate times of course) I find if I'm getting in my protein and Vitamins, food is just a bonus because I like to chew .

I didn't get to my reccomendations until about 4 weeks out, don't stress, as long as you are getting in as much fluids as you can, you will be fine!

    June 2015 sleevers

I was sleeved on June 8th and pretty much have hit a long stall, about 3 weeks now and only about 3lbs down, however, I have seen this on here ALOT and understand that once you start eating solids again your body can go through lots of adjustments. I am not freaking out yet as I lost a lot the first month. I am really not eating much and always going for Protein and veggies so not sure as to why the stall. I also quit weighing everyday as Water retention etc can vary so much during the week. Hanging in there

    Ability to Exercise

I started with just walking to my mailbox and back, then around the block and up to about 1.5 miles now. Like everyone has said, your journey is yours. I used to feel bad I wasn't up with the amazing racers but now am just happy I'm moving! It all helps, you just have to start somewhere.

Sounds like exactly the same except I haven't been to the gym but I am walking. I've only lost a couple of pounds in two weeks too. Not stressing yet though lol.

Four+ weeks out, have been hungry all weekend

I would recommend upping your Protein intake. I know every doctor says different things but you will NEVER be able to eat enough protein in solid foods. You should be getting in 90-120gms daily. When I am not consistent with my protein I get hungry. I see so many people posting about using Protein shakes as a supplemental thing and the truth is, your food is supplemental.
  20. My Surgeon also did not set me a personal goal. I set one myself that is higher than the Avg. but that is on me. I was told on Average the sleeve is about 60% of excess weight. So I believe your goal should be anything at that or above. If you get past it, then you are higher than avg. My personal goal foremost is to completely get my co-morbidities gone! I can't wait to get to 6 months and hoping to report they are gone!
  21. I have that problem too but it's after everything I put in my mouth lol, possibly try gas-x strips?

    Vitamin recommendations

My Surgeon supplied me ( I paid for) my first 60 days of Celebrate Vitamins. They are all chewable and/or melts. I do find I get nauseous still if taken on an empty stomach. I am interested in learning more about the fusion ones above too once I run out of the ones I have.

    Looking for June/July buddies

I was sleeved on June 8th. Doing very well but starting to hit an "emotional" stall. I have heard this is very common so not freaking out, but love to have buddies. Feel free to ask me any questions on the surgery, but understand, that everyone is different and will experience different things and pace according to healing, weight loss, and emotional healing. I have also seen many vast differences in how surgeons do things and what recommendations they give. I feel I was extremely educated before hand and have a very awesome NUT. I also have a sister who had an rny 13 years ago and has kept at her goal weight. Although we have differences we have more similarities so she has been my champion helping me through this process! Look forward to talking to you all more!

    Vitamins and timing

Apparently there are many different instructions. So confused.

    Vitamins and timing

The papers my surgeon gave me say to take the multi with the calcium and I also take Vitamin D with them, I do have to take them with food or they make me very nauseous. I was told to take the b12 and the Iron/C separately ( 2 hours for Iron after any supplement) I have not heard to take calcium separate.
