  1. I am really struggling with head hunger. I get frustrated when I can only eat two bites of something, especially when it's delicious, lol! Plus I feel like I need the calories so I'm determined to get the food in by the end of the night. How do you manage this??
  2. Put some baking soda in the wash water
  3. Once I started purees/soft foods, the hunger went away. Thank God!
  4. Sound like gas pain. I had the same pain around 2 weeks post. I asked my husband to massage my back and it released the gas.
  5. I blended some canned salmon with some Greek cream cheese. 26g of protein per half cup
  6. Actually that is the reason I'm struggling. I lost 15 pounds in one week back when I first started looking into WLS and I was eating every day. Then I lost 16 doing the pre-op diet for 2 weeks. I thought once I had surgery I'd lose fairly rapidly, but it came to a screeching halt. I'll continue doing what I know to do, because that's all I can do, but it's hard not to become discouraged.
  7. I just did the last one. Thank God it's over
  8. I made something tonight with cottage cheese. It doesn't have a name, but I used 1/2 a cup of low fat cottage cheese, 1 egg, italian seasonings, 1 oz of mozzarella and 1 oz parmesan. I baked it at 350 for 30 minutes. Tasted delicious. You could add marinara, but I'm not allowed tomato products. It made 2 meals for me. 165 calories each and 15 grams of Protein, 10g fat and 4 carbs.
  9. I know they are necessary, but they hurt! I'm down to the last 2 and I'm so tempted to skip them!
  10. My hospital numbs you before putting the iv in. Ask if they can do that for you.
  11. I was sleeved one week ago and I've only lost 6 pounds. Ordinarily this would be good, but if these are my reeks during rapid weight loss, then this is going to be an impossibly long journey. Note that I was 402 on my surgery date. I'm getting my protein in and adequate fluids. I have a bowl movement daily (tmi), and I walk. Any ideas of what else I can do?
  12. I'm on prilosec. I'm having 2 shakes (60 grams of protein) per day and tons of broth/stock/cream soup. I have always been a meat eater, so I'm hoping that when I move on to pureed foods, some tuna will get me through
  13. I'll be a week post op tomorrow and I am SO HUNGRY!!! My stomach growls until it hurts. It wakes me up out of my sleep. I don't know what to do. I thought the sleeve was supposed to reduce my hunger. Instead, I feel hungrier than ever! What can I do?
  14. I'm 3 days post op and my stomach is roaring like a lion! And I'm hungry!!!! Is this normal?
  15. Me too!!! I'm believing it will be smooth
  16. My surgery is the 23rd too. I'm surprisingly calm about this. I guess because my fear of not having the surgery is greater, now.
  17. I'm getting sleeved Tuesday. My bmi is 67
  18. This preop diet is giving me the worst leg cramps!!! What can i take/do to stop them?
  19. I think it depends on your doctor/hospital. I had blood drawn for about 30 different tests, an EKG, and a barium swallow so they could x-ray my stomach and esophagus.
  20. @TakeitorSleeveit I feel tons better! I've been following the low carb diet (with several food funerals in between) since January. I'm down 31 pounds. I've just been more strict these past 2 weeks and lost about 8 pounds so far. I'm going to do full liquids starting Sunday and then clear liquids Monday. Surgery is Tuesday.
  21. My nutritionist gave me a pre op diet that I could eat limited food on, but now I'm nervous because so many are doing liquid diets. Should I be worried?
  22. I've been having food funerals for months, lol. Started liquid diet last week, surgery next week..
  23. I'm June 23rd! Scared, but ready. I keep looking at my 3 year old daughter and know it's the right thing to do.
