    June Sleevers!

    Congrats and happy healing!
  3. OMG Mel!! I know what you mean about the purée stage.... It was glorious to get there and come off all liquids!! LOL!! I'm so glad you are doing well and losing!! I am going to try hot tea because I am having a hard time getting in liquids now that I'm back at work. What are some of your favorite kinds of hot tea? I like green tea with a drop of honey and lemon middle day. "Constant comment" is a tea by bigelow brands that I drink occasionally and I have a sleepy time(it will put you to sleep) tea that I like also by bigelow. Before surgery I would drink celestial seasons brand they have tons of flavors. How's your energy level? I'm off for the summer so I haven't been hitting the physical activity hard. I have started taking walks hoping to lengthen them to 30minutes then an hour soon.
  4. Update. Still feeling great and losing weight. Just started puréed stage and it's great. Been enjoying poached eggs and avocado. Taco Bell pintos and cheese were good too. Found hot teas are a great way to get liquids so I'm staying hydrated. Just trying to increase protein. Have my first follow up Tuesday so I'll see what the doctor says. 19 days post op and down 40 since March. Hope everyone is still feeling and doing well!

Popsicles can help or try a warm drink
  6. What? No way!! I would die for some mashed potatoes My post op appointment isn't until July 1st, so unfortunately I can't ask my surgeon anything yet and am a bit embarrassed to ask over the phone. i don't want him to think I'm greedy That is so crazy you can eat pudding and mashed potatoes though. How does it feel to go down? I want to try but am a bit afraid.. I don't want to hurt myself or anything like that.I had pudding and thinned mashed potatoes the first week. They are great and easy on the stomach. I was sleeved June 8th.

    June 8th sleevers?

I was sleeved on the 8th too. I start puréed foods this week. Looking forward to it. You had staples? I had steri-strips and stitches inside. Amazing how each procedure and surgeon is different. I can say I'm relatively pain free.

    June Sleevers!

I was sleeved on the 8th and I have been mostly pain free just hungry! I can have eggs Wednesday and I can't wait! Hope you all are getting better everyday too!
  9. It's been the same for me. The craving and desire will still be there after surgery. It's just a head game.
  10. I have very limited energy too Natalie. I'm mostly eating cream of wheat with unjury or pb2. I also eat soups I put the chunky or creamy ones in a blender and mash potatoes. Ready for puréed foods next week! Hope everyone is still doing well.
  11. Bless you all! I too start puréed next week and I can't wait! Chicken salad and refried beans(not at the same time) sounds awesome. I never thought I could miss real food so much!
  12. I've had thinned mash potatoes and all kinds of soup. I'd love food but I'm losing so I'll take it. Looking forward to puréed foods next week!

    June bypass buddies

I was sleeved June 8th too. I have had some hunger the last couple of days. I eat mostly Soups and the only Protein I can get down is Atkins shakes. In a pinch I can stomach several ounces of nectar fruit punch protein but the after taste is killing me. Luckily I'm off for the summer so I have not been doing much. Just bingeing on Netflix and the occasional walk. Oh I also have had cream of wheat with honey and some PB2 powder. That's pretty much it aside from sugar free Popsicles. No pain haven't even opened my pain meds. I have had a few moments I felt dizzy but I hadn't eaten in several hours. A shake perked me right up. I'm rambling now hope this makes sense. How's your process been?

  17. Just checking in. Still doing great. Struggling with protein but I just don't like the after taste. I miss real food but I'm so glad I had the surgery. One week out and no regrets! How's everyone else?
  18. Still adjusting at home. I really want to eat! Lol still love pudding and watery mashed potatoes(KFC with water added) need protein and water to go down in larger doses. Feeling great three days out. How is everyone else doing? Mc did you get rescheduled? Still adjusting at home. I really want to eat! 19. I was sleeved Monday and all the pains subsided yesterday. Sorry you are hurting but it will go away and you'll feel better everyday.
  20. Pain free(still sore) and just had pudding! I feel like I get better by the hour. I hope to get most of my water in tomorrow. Hang in there sleevers!
  21. I was sleeved yesterday as well...no problems until day two morning dry heaves, shoulder pain and TIRED. Today is Water only and tomorrow clear liquids I hope. Walked, passed GI swallow test and counting down the hours to go home. Good luck to you and keep us posted! Thanks Kf everything is getting better. I was able to keep a few spoonfuls of Jello and broth down for lunch and dinner. Those dry heaves scared me to death. Fortunately it was over quick.
  22. Day two. Struggling to get fluids and very little pain. Gas bubbles are no joke! But it was short lived. Also had the dry heaves for a few minutes last night. All in all it's very manageable. Been walking since I came from surgery.
  23. Good luck to everyone. It won't be long now.
  24. Tried Nectar today it's ok.
