    Why, thank you.
I think, though, instead of a pleasant night............I'll have a pleasant life.
In part due to the vets who led me to make the right calls at the right times......and not a bunch of enabling well-wishers who didn't have a clue what they were talking about.

You may as well get used to it.
That's what happens when there are precious few successful vets around.

You'd better glean whatever pearls of wisdom you can from them quickly as the successful vets......the very ones who have have helped bring many of us to a much better weight and state of being.....are being permanently banned from this sight.
The good news is....the newbies that feel like lost sheep can take comfort in the fact that any and every imaginable "bariatric product" is only a click away. They will be able to shop until their heart is content around here. Lot's of product for sale.
The 2 year plus successful vets don't rely on such products.....don't buy them......therefore are of little value here, it would seem.
It's a sad state of affairs around here.
If the goal were for us to help each other lose unwanted weight and improve our lives.......the vets would stay and the interaction here would flourish.
Sadly.....the goal seems to be to sell product.
I and many other would gladly pay a membership fee to keep the doors open and support the costs associated with running the sight.

    It's hard....I know.
I smoked for a loooong time but was able to put them down.
My suggestion for you is to join a gym....right away......like today, lol.
Getting active there during your time off will really help. Bikes, treadmills, rowing machines, stairs and etc have a way of releasing endorphins that will have you feeling enthused and happy and your cravings for smoking, eating and drinking will be diminished.....I assure you.
You'll also be burning calories and amplifying the weight loss.
You'll be surrounded by motivated souls who are in there to get themselves in better shape, too. Being around them is very positive.

This is my first day after surgery. The swallow test went well. My stomach still fell queezy, but I feel great. Just walked the hospital floor twice. Balance is good. Ready for the rest of this Weight loss journey.

Dub got a reaction from 360lyMe in Self pay: Insurance to protect against complications?
Both the local bariatric centers that I consulted during my pre-op had self pay options with the costs being very close.
The one that had Bariatric Center of Excellence certification actually included BLISS (spelling ?) insurance which covered any and all complications that are related to the wls procedure for the next year.
I chose the center that had this insurance as well as their excellent track record.
All went well and all is well.
Do your homework well and enjoy the results.

EVERY SINGLE POSTER, without exception, who have defended Alex's decisions have joined within the past 6 months. If that doesn't speak volumes about the type of member being courted by this site I don't know what would. Veterans who have met goal do not spend $$ in the store, or support recommended surgeons/healthcare facilities (Medical Tourism).
Gone is the experience the veterans so freely shared. Sure, their advice was not always rainbows and unicorns, but it was truthful.
Some of us do NOT want coddled, we want help on this journey. We want information that can ONLY come from those that have lived it!
Although this is my first post, I have been lurking, reading & researching for over a year.

I had my RNY bypass on 08/23/16
    Starting weight: 280lbs
    Current weight: 199lbs
I am no longer in the 200lb club!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted so badly to hit this goal before we crossed into 2017 but for 2 weeks I sat idle at 205lbs. I couldn't move those numbers to save my life. It was the worst stall thus far because I was so close to crossing that line. Then the stall passed and in a little over a week I dropped 6lbs and crossed that line!
I can't wait to see where this journey takes me!!!

@@xoxococojay - two years out, I drink Water like I used to (actually happened by month 3 or 4. I still can't eat anything bread like without being really careful to really chew it up. There is something about stuff that just crams up in the sleeve. But I eat everything else, just much less. I also eat better quality stuff because when you only eat 4 ounces at a time...you can. Only downside if you can call it one is you are forever going to be getting doggie bags when you eat out unless you stick to a small appetizer.

    I am over 5 years.
You can't eat like you did before. Does it get better after a couple of years in terms of how much you can eat at one time? Yes, but it still isn't a lot. I can do a cup but it depends on what is in that cup.

Not much at all...............only that some of the folks that were honest with me.....gave me the jolts of truth and challenged me......helped direct me to change my thinking and behaviors..........helped me extend my life....which was soon to end....and now I feel like I'll live forever since taking their advice.........yeah...those people have been permanently banned.
    Not much has happened.
Sadly.....the loss will impact the very newbies that are posting in this thread the most. I was one of them this time a year ago. I wish them well and hope that they can sift through the bs and find some real solid advice from some real solid veterans. There truly aren't many left and it is a poor reflection of what this place is becoming.

    Oh, Alex. "terrorize"? Really?
Look, I'm not as outraged as some people are, and I'm not demanding that you delete my account. You're running a business and it's been helpful for me. But, it would be great if you'd not use that kind of language. I'm a military veteran, married to an active duty soldier and believe me, there's not one iota of terrorizing going on here. Bullied, maybe. Terrorized? Don't make me laugh.
The people you just either banned or caused to leave are the reason I'm here and the reason many people are here...I get NOTHING from newbies eating pizza in their bathrooms so their spouses don't know they're 'cheating'. But when LL slapped me upside my virtual head when I asked about wine at 6 weeks post-op? THAT helped. AND, it made me think 'hey, my team was wrong about BP, there are some nuggets of wisdom to be gleaned there'...I hate that they were right, and I'm going to have to admit it at my real-life support group meeting next week.
The snowflakes have had their fun, and when they all leave because they've hit goal or stopped losing because of their crappy habits, it's going to be sad and lonely around here...you may have 310,273 accounts (which we now understand to mean 'anyone who ever signed up, ever'), but you probably have about 50 active posters and about 100 more who drop in from time to time, in the sleeve forums. That's not a robust readership, by any means. I'm sad to see this, and although I may stick around for a while, it's only because of 2 or 3 people who I think need support...there's no support left here for me. And I'm going to buy my Vitamins, Proteins and Moon cheese elsewhere...I never get free shipping anyway.
