  1. Absolutely amazing. You are living the dream and are very inspiring.
  2. The food is not going anywhere. No need for funerals. The surgery is not magic, either. If you don't change your thinking then you'll struggle with weight forever....post op as well. Now is the time to be getting your mind wrapped around a new lifestyle...not being concerned over specific foods. If you don't fix your thinking then the surgery is simply a colossal waste of time and money.
  3. I would.....but it's closely guarded....... LMAO.......I've seen yer pics, too. Agreed.
  4. I would, but........it's been a closely guarded family secret for the longest.......

    Mashed potatoes? Carbs?

I approached it thusly........anything that I didn't want to have in my daily eats......I didn't want to include during the early stages, either. Therefore......NO......skip on that crap. Embrace the early stages and lose all the weight you can......then hang on and enjoy the results as you refine your strategy for later on.
  6. It's great on celery........and at the point I'm at.....it's great on whole grain, high Protein, wheat bread. I can't explain........other than to say it's been a staple on the dinner table since I was knee high to a grasshopper.

    Out with the old!

Hilarious. Good times and good riddance. Keep on kicking ass, bro.
  8. cheese......love it. I made a batch of kickin' pimento cheese a few days ago and have been enjoying it immensely.
  9. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. 2017 has the makings to be a wonderful year. So much to be grateful for.

Now that you're here, I realize you were gone for a while. Hope all is well. Christmas was so good that I was high on it for a few days. I'm near the end of Chanukah which has been pleasant; I never did like latkes anyway.

    Keeping Food Warm

It's never been an issue that I've faced. If its gone cold then I've been eating too long.

    I didn't see this coming

Funny stuff.....and a true issue. Last appointment I had was the one year check up. I was wearing jeans, boots and jacket. scale time came.....I had them wait a second as I jettisoned jacket and everything in my pockets...keys, wallet, pocketknife and etc. I considered taking off the boots, too but knew enough was enough.

    Dinner suggestions

I would go somewhere that has a light Soup. A Chinese restaurant would be my choice.
  14. There isn't anything that comes to mind that I can't have. I do have aversion to certain foods, though. Since surgery I no longer care to eat rice of any kind (except in sushi), cottage cheese and Jello. I simply find them to be unappealing. Weird, I know.

I was ready to eat the squirrel...

Living in a 200 year old farmhouse.....on a farm.....with your own shooting range. Boss, I'm envious. Great stories, too.

I'll probably be up all night tonight

Good stuff.....that caffeinated coffee Protein. I've been rocking the Chike version and loving it. Having some for Breakfast this morning, in fact.

    Pre Op Too Easy

I would do everything in my power to ensure there was zero chance for food particles to be in my digestive system when I arrived for surgery.

    Breakfast?

13+ months past my sleeve surgery. Breakfast this morning was two hard boiled eggs and a slice of pepper jack cheese.
  20. Let it ride................slow ride.............
  21. I low-carbed up to the 2 week liquid diet. The liquid diet for me was 3-4 Protein shakes per day....very low carb shakes. I stuck with this same liquid diet for the month after surgery as well. Looking back on it now....13 months later......I wouldn't change a thing about how I approached it. Grateful for the weight loss.
  22. I kept two Yeti cups full of ice Water near the recliner that I used as "headquarters" for the first week or so. I'd take sips every few minutes and simply kept at it. It certainly kept me hydrated and created a need to get up and hit the restroom every couple hours. I pretty much did this around the clock those first couple days home. By the fourth day or so, I'd make sure to take walks outside and increase my range. The leg soreness went away by the third day. One month out found me feeling much better than I had in years. Now....13 months out.....so relieved that I did this. Grateful for the entire experience. I'm very encouraged at the control I now have over eating and weight. I feel normal in this regard for the first time since being a kid.
  23. Came home from hospital yesterday . No complaints about anything about the sleeve surgery. The only pain I'd felt in recovery room and still has been from an abdominal hernia he repaired after completing the sleeve. It's understandable. I will say with absolute certainty that the pain is much less than on previous oven repairs I've had on hernias in that vicinity. I'm grateful that he was able to take care of this at the same time with a great result. He had been thinking that it would not be a lasting repair when he was evaluating pre-op. So grateful that things proved different once he got in and could see the actual site. Other than this pain I would even question whether the sleeve surgery even occurred. ???? It has been feeling great. Just taking small sips of Protein shakes and Water. All seems well. What is funny is how my legs feel. My inner thighs feel like I've been using the hip abductor & adductor machines at the gym. Really sore in legs. Anyone have similar oddball soreness in unexpected areas? What is unreal to me is that I went into surgery healing a herniated disc at T-12. There has been zero issues with pain in my back while post-op. Simply amazing. I have no explanation other than the perhaps the Toradol they shot into my IV every so often the 24hrs after surgery. Weird stuff, but zero complaints from this patient. I feel like a lottery winner and hope that everyone else has like experience with their upcoming sleeves.
