Carb Level Suggestions for Weight Loss

Good stuff, there. It's awesome that you've found your stride with something that you enjoy. If I wasn't currently nursing a few injuries I suspect I'd be searching out a tribe to join. As it is I go it with my own routine and adjust for the POD (pain of the day), lol.

    My new sleeved life

You are doing super and looking great. Awesome results.
  3. My dirty little secret........struggle coming to terms with job stress. It leads over into every aspect of my life. I have caught myself stress eating at work......junk food Snacks. I have caught myself drinking too much on days off. I finally....acknowledged how both are empty ways of dealing with the stress. Instead......I'll sneak into the gym at work and burst off a quick few sets and feel better for it. Days off I'll be active doing something outdoors.....lately paddling around the river or walking outdoors. Stress is mitigated in healthy ways.
  4. Why would you get sick ? Never happened with me. Flintstone's chewables was one the ones recommend in my program. Iron chewables & B12 chewables as well. The only other one I take is calcium citrate chewables (must be taken hours away from the iron or absorption is hindered). Bariatric Advantage is the brand I use. Flavor is off the chain good on the calcium citrate Chewy Bites (think Starburst Fruit Chews candy) and the multi's taste great. You simply have to time things and work out a schedule on when to take so you'll get the correct absorption. Your nutritionist and/or surgeon should provide you with both the brands/types/quantities and schedule for taking.

    Dreading the Nausea!

9+ months post-op now and I'm not sure what you are talking about. I never had any nausea.......at all. Zero. Zilch. Nada. The only vomiting that I've experienced post op was when I had a sinus infection and had severe drainage from the meds and it made me hurl a couple times. Outside of this there may have been one other isolated case and it had zero to do with having sleeve surgery. Don't buy into all the negative hype you read hear. I've had zero issues of any type since my surgery. ZERO complications or regrets.

Carb Level Suggestions for Weight Loss

Looks legit. My best results are certainly when I keep it between 50-100 grams. Still have good energy for the gym and loss still occurs. Right outa the Paleo diet playbook. Slight derail follows....sorry...... I know of few guys and a gal who are reaping the benefits of this. Only two of them are into it as fanatics.....embracing the marriage of Paleo + Crossfit. The others don't take it to the near cult-like level but really are doing well after eating more wholesome foods that aren't processed and full of extra additives/preservatives/etc. Fresh outa the ground, off the vine, from the sea and on hoof. I can say with absolute sincerity that since being post-op I've been eating this way for the most part and I feel much better overall. Cutting out the diet sodas, chips, candy, pop tarts, Cereal, frozen Desserts and etc has been great. If I get the strong desire for something sweet......then some chilled seedless grapes or blueberries are the ticket and so much better tasting now than any of that other garbage was before. I still use artificial sweeteners in coffee and the list of chemicals in my Protein powder and pre-workout drinks are not good. Areas to work on. Anyway, cool chart. Thanks for posting.

    Food shopping

Excellent place that a few gym buddies use with confidence: https://www.tfsupplements.com GNC has priced themselves outa my range on a lot of stuff.
  8. You have done so well and you look absolutely stunning. I am so impressed with your hard work and determination throughout it all. You've motivated me to get my sore, tired self to hit the gym on days when I so could've blown it off. Amazing. You've been a beacon of light for many who are feeling lost out there. Seeing your results and the knowing that you put one foot in front of the other and drove those results is highly encouraging. Much respect !!!!!!!!

    Lettuce - Post Op?

I don't remember specifically.....but I think it was around the 3-4 month time frame. No issues. I often make a side salad for my lunches at work. I've never been an iceberg fan. I put a single layer of spinach leaves on the bottom and then pile on the eggs, chicken, pickles, jalapeños and some cheese. Dressings are where I have to be careful.....choices here make all the calorie/carb difference. They usually have a light raspberry vinegarette that's got decent macros and good flavor. By the time I work my way through the salad and get to the spinach.....I'm full and never finish.
  10. Heavy and tired of it. Took decisive action to change. Achieved the results. Lived like a rock star, eh ? Harem. Broke up the band. The One was found. Great progression towards happiness, man.

    Eating Post-Op?

Nothing wrong with relying on those protein shakes a bit longer, too.
  12. Well done. Great NSV.
  13. Sorry to hear of your pain and troubles. I'm nine months post-op and have had no problems.........yet.
  14. There really is no benefit......for me, at least. Flavor isn't that great nor are the macros. It's just another food that isn't really all that in line with what my goals currently are.
  15. Fun time last night seeing Steve Miller Band. The guy has serious skills and some bluesy chops that I really enjoyed. Very attractive young gal sitting right in front of me....alone. She wasn't alone as soon as the opening act finished....their guitarist came and sat beside her, clearly a couple. It was a cool experience to shake his hand and thank him for playing so well for the crowd. He really kicked ass on Hendrix's "Little Wing". Overall....excellent show.

    Truth

I was absolutely scared as hell not to follow it. It wasn't given to me as a suggestion.....it was a mandate that safety implications about my surgery. I will say this and I mean it.....if you can't adhere to the two week prep diet then you are simply wasting your time having the surgery and won't do the right stuff afterwards, either. Is that harsh? Don't know....don't care....because it is the truth as I have experienced it. It's only two weeks. Stick with it and see it through properly. Well said and total agreement !!!!! Your advice is spot on now.....just like it was spot on when I was pre-op and asking questions like the OP's. I value your wisdom and sage advice. Good stuff.
  17. Contemplating adding a gun turret to my car for these fools on the interstate commutes.......anyone want to take the wheel ? Fools on the road getting on my last nerve......fargin bastages !!!

    Now I'm pissed. Seriously pissed...

Excellent points made in this thread. We are living in some very disturbing times.
  19. You are kicking it !!!! You were wise to take action to get ahead of the issues before they started showing up. Very well done !!!
  20. Be careful guys. You are both fresh outa surgery. Give it some time and fully heal.
  21. Here's the deal..........you already lose hair every single day of you life. You regrow it and don't even notice. Things get a bit off kilter during rapid weight loss. Hair may not regrow as fast as you normally do during this phase.....but you will return to normal rates afterwards. Don't sweat it.......lose the weight....and deal with the issues that may or may not present themselves during the process. It's all good.

    Young sleever

Who cares about loose skin ??? Not this guy. Seriously..........get the unwanted......unhealthy.......overwhelming weight off and profit. If there is loose skin afterwards.....then so be it. There is effective surgery for this, too. Nip 'n tuck it.....and strut yer arse through life.
  23. I don't give two shyts about running........but for some reason I do want to run the Cooper River Bridge Run. That....and I want to paddle from my hometown through the local river down to the Atlantic Ocean......get there....and call headquarters four days later and say...."Come get me....I've pulled my kayak ashore and am sitting outside at the nearby Mexican restaurant and having 'ritas and chips'n'salsa."
