Don't worry- things may still be fine- wait ( yeah i KNOW that's hard!) And talk it over with your doctor, unless you are a professional , they can be hard to interpet and after all ,you DID have a nice little weight loss and 5hat is a GOOD thing. Don't tie yourself up in. " nots" until You really have to- things are not "lost" as yet.

There's generally two options... Conversion to RNY bypass or turn sleeve into DS...

I am hoping someone would give me some info on it. I recently had an upper GI X-ray done. The dr is supposed to read it any day now. But I peaked at the X-ray while it was being taken and I can see that my stomach stretched. I have lost 9 pounds so far since September 23rd. I have been constantly staying active. I really would appreciate any feedback you can give me on the matter. I feel like a big disappointment lately. I feel it’s time to do ME. Now that the kids are grown and working.

I got the sleeve in 2017 and lost 40 lbs but my sleeve stretch due to some medications I have to take for RA and I had reflux. I gained 30 of the 40 back. I just had the VSG revision done last Wed with a hernia repair (I had not heard of getting a hernia with the sleeve - insurance paid) and I am still feeling the reflux. I am told it will get better but right now it doesn't feel that way. It's not as bad but it's only been less than a week. I just hate starting over it feels harder. I am craving to eat solid food and the healing part is hard also. I feel like phase one liquids is taking forever to pass.

kozyjozie reacted to BajanSleeve in Breakthrough! Women 48 to 55 - MUST READ
Guys, I am so happy to say that I have a positive update and one that might help other women in the 45 to 55 age category who are going to do VSG or in the process of having had it and experiencing difficulty getting weight to move.
I am very hard on myself. While I was not being perfect on my journey, I have a tendency to always feel that if something is not going right, it is all my fault. I was a food addict for so many years and did everything wrong that I almost felt like when my weight plateaued and then stopped and then I started to gain weight that it was just because I let myself down.
To cut a very long story short. I had a gynecological emergency about a month ago and ended up having to go through a bunch of tests. It was discovered that I was producing next to zero progesterone and my estrogen was also extremely low. It was causing me SO MANY problems which I will not get into so that I will not digress from the main point. As a result I was put on hormones and almost immediately I started to loose weight again! I have lost 10 lbs since I started taking hormones 3 weeks ago. The reason why is that hormones have a major role to play in weight loss and weight gain. The reason why I was gaining and not loosing was not because I was being so terrible in my disciplines but because the lack of estrogen and progesterone, the total imbalance was actually causing me to GAIN weight.
So I am working with my doctor now to see how HRT may be able to not only help my perimenopause/going into menopause issues but also to help bring better balance to help the weight loss process kick in further. I feel like an entirely different woman - I cant even articulate it the difference in overall feeling but certainly the fact that I have lost the weight I had gained and now back to making the scale go down instead of up.
You can read my previous thread to get a better context of where this post is coming from. If you are having similar struggles and are female in the age range of 45 to 55 it might be well worth your time to have your hormone levels tested and see if hormone therapy can help you get balanced again and improve your weight loss.
I am just one lbs away from being in another weight bracket and after not loosing for 4 months I feel like a million bucks
There are many articles and information on Google that you can look up and research regarding hormonal imbalance and the role it might be playing in extremely difficulty in weight loss, especially in women of a certain age. I am just putting this out there for your consideration in case you are a woman like me that may be struggling in this area and not even know it. Talk to your gyno and get your hormones tested. I will soon post an updated photo when I hit that next weight bracket

Was sleeved at 45. I’ve put some of the weight on. But I have been taking it off. It’s a struggle. I can’t tell you how hard it is to lose the weight. If you are doing the surgery now. Watch your wright. Don’t let it get out of hand and exercise daily. I lost the interest in exercising daily and did it once or twice a week. So I gained weight. Now I exercise daily every morning and watch what I eat. No carbs. Get my Water and Protein in daily. Good luck everyone.

I was on them last year..they are outrageously expensive I was lucky enough to have a doctor that gave me samples so I wouldn't have to pay for it. But Saxenda and Victoza are exactly the same drug just different brands. There is no difference in the one being lower than the other. When I went to the pharmacy though Victoza was cheaper than Saxenda.

I would stick with just plain Medicare and Medicaid. When you chose those other plans usually you are not covered for certain Drs or services. I left mine as just plain Medicare with Medicaid. I live in ulster county but all my Drs are in Sullivan and Orange County. My dr was dr Seth Judd

kozyjozie got a reaction from diamondrr in I'm hiding my surgery from family anyone else ?
I told my family. Most of my family is overweight and has diabetes. I told them to tell them they have a choice to make their lives healthier. They all told me how much better and healthier I look. They really don't want to make the change and give up their love for food and alcohol. That is their choice. I have done this for me. I want to live a healthier lifestyle to me a role model for my two children. My daughter is 26 and my son is 20. They are so very proud of me. I guess it depends. I have always had a huge family and we have always gotten along well and loved each other. I thank god for my moms support as well. I just wish my dad would get the surgery. But he won't make the lifestyle change. I am so glad I have made that change.

I had the same problem after my surgery and for about 1.5 months after. Check with your doctor to see if been Fiber is ok to take (my guess is yes as that's what mine recommended) it worked great for me. It has no flavor, dissolves completely. I add two teaspoons to each 8oz of Water and have not had any issues since. Do not strain though

Miralax was a no for me, which is weird because people sing it's praises. I took it in my AM coffee for almost a month, thinking the extreme stomach expansion and weight gain it caused would get better - but it never did. I gained 6 lbs of Water and looked pregnant while I was on it - it was insane. My pants didn't fit, haha. I think most people's systems respond fine to it, but mine did not - came back off of it and bam, everything was normal again.
I drink a TON of water every day (120 oz), and still need bathroom help - so I put fiber in my coffee, these days. It helps really well, as long as I get my water in, as well!

My surgeon told me this was fine. When your at a stall or gaining instead of losing weight then you do the three shakes a day for two weeks, puréed foods afterwards then regular food. Same diet as post op. Hope this helps. It helps me get back on track every time

First of all, you look amazing! Congratulations. I really trust my surgeon. I listen to everything he tells me. The one thing he tells me is that 150 lbs is perfect for me. Then if I want to set a new goal after that that I could. For him, he was happy with the 150. I started at 227lbs. I am now a size 4/27 in jeans. It's a great feeling. I started to gain the weight back a little because I started to get lazy with the exercising. This all happened this past year. So I started exercising again and hopefully I can get back to where I was before at 153. I put on 30 lbs this winter. I eat right. No carbs. Plenty of Protein and Water. But if you don't exercise it just comes right back to you. So I am back on the exercising and I can't get lazy. I have neuropathy in my legs due to a spine injury. But I can't let that get in the way. My advice to you is do whatever makes you happy. You look amazing.
