  1. It doesn't bother me fundamentally, just that I eat so small, yet lose no weight. In my mind there should be a direct result of eating so little lol. I'm getting used to it, the only thing that really bothers me is that I've lost 30+ pounds yet only just now lost a pant size and 2 shirt sizes. It makes me frustrated and laugh at the same time because when I reach goal weight, I'll still be a "high" pant size. The sturdy ethnic stock I'm from is no lie haha.
  2. I'm so glad this thread exists! I find it daunting to think about the number I have to lose. My goal weight is 140 and that's about 81 pounds away. When I started, I had to lose 120. The stalls are upsetting to me. I find myself breaking into frustrated tears because I can't eat like a "normal" person, but will go weeks without losing a single pound. I feel discouraged.

    Drains?

I didn't have a drain and I was discharged same day, minimal scarring and small incisions. I think it's surgeon preference.
  4. I'm a terrible example, it took me almost a month to get my energy and strength back. I was so weak. I didn't have a problem getting my liquids down though -my liquid diet was for two weeks post-op. I just wanted to sleep all the time. It was a struggle forcing myself to get up and walk.

    Stall nine weeks out

I got sleeved April 27th too!! I've been looking for other people sleeved that day lol we don't seem to have a thread. I stalled at 4 weeks out, and I've stalled again for the past week. It's so frustrating. I was put off of Protein Shakes because of the post-op liquid diet I just didn't want it ever lol. I got some Quest bars today, I hope those help me. I'm having trouble getting my protein in sometimes.
  6. Arctic Zero in your grocery stores. Fantastic for WLS patients.
  7. Smf8386, yes I do, I drink almost a gallon a day of Water. Jamie, I am. I'm on 20mg pepcid twice a day but I had GERD before surgery and I've never had this gagging thing. I notice when I do the gag thing it's an empty tummy, no acid issues.
  8. A bikini for the first time in my life, dainty ankles and wrists, my cheek bones prominent (have high ones in my bloodline but mine have always been hidden), clavicles defined, smaller fingers, flying comfortably and being able to sit at a table in a restaurant (I usually insist on a booth before) without being paranoid everyone is staring and judging.

    Funny WLS memes

I've got one to add hehe. I love Baymax so this made me laugh so hard.

    Food after surgery

Chines66, it is really trial and error for a while. I'm about two months post-op and am still trying things from before. I have been lucky not to throw up at all, or find anything my sleeve doesn't like. I wish I had better answers for you but it's truly trial and error. Pasta is high in carbs so you'd need to be careful with the mac and cheese; potato salad was actually recommended to me by my surgeon during my pureed/soft foods stage. I eat it very rarely and very little, as potatoes are starch and expand in my stomach, disallowing me to get enough protein per meal. It's a balance of getting your protein in, you're so concentrated on that that depending, you won't even have room or desire an old craving.

    Horrible Rash

Skinnyrita, no it isn't shingles. No blistering or sores. It's just red bumps and welts.

this might be a bit awkward but....

Oh my! 12oz of protein is not enough Jbl. My surgeon recommends 100g a day. Keepingmysecrets has some good advice for you; definitely ask your surgeon about getting the okay for other sources of fiber. Possibly Fiber One bars in your extreme case?

    Horrible Rash

Hahaha that is such a good way of putting it! So lethargic from antihistamines and steroids make me even more acidic. It appears to be receding today. It's not red anymore but only in a few spots, mostly a slightly darker brown than my skin like it's healing. We'll see!

    Horrible Rash

I think that's what I'm going to do! Thank you Laura. And I wish you much luck with your procedure

    Horrible Rash

Thank you Wishful, I'm hoping it's gone soon!

    Haven't told anyone...

I've actually found myself hesitant to even use my card for discounts/permission to order from kids menus at restaurants. I fear the judgment. I have only used it once tonight and surprisingly nobody reacted. I was able to order from the kid's menu for once lol

    Horrible Rash

It isn't scabies, if it were, my boyfriend who I live with, would have them too.

    Horrible Rash

I actually didn't think of that, did you see my photos above? Does it looks like shingles? I know nothing about shingles lol
  19. Sleeveking, mine too! My surgeon did it in 45 minutes and my recovery was 2 hours. I was discharged that afternoon when I could walk, pee, and pass the swallow test/upper GI xray.

    Horrible Rash

I wish my surgeon had some idea, he only suspected what they washed me with when I was asleep. Betadine I believe it was. I'm going on a month with this ugliness. I hope it's gone soon! Thank you so much
  21. I forgot to mention I had GERD. So miserable, ugh. I was medicating with OTC prilosec every morning and it was starting to not work anymore.

    Horrible Rash

Yea, I'm sure. I'm not on anything new. I was taking an antacid before surgery because I have/had GERD. And the vitamin I only just started taking 3 weeks after the rash appeared and a week after it got worse. Those are the only meds I was prescribed. I've also always taken a multivitamin, the multivitamin I'm taking mow is chewable Flintstones haha.

    Horrible Rash

I actually suspected something like that so I experimented with tepid showers, super hot, etc. Nothing changed. The only thing that helped was the original steroid pack. I found something online about prurigo pigmentosa and it looks and sounds exactly like my rash. It's brought on by ketosis and eating minimal or low carbs. Which is craziness because I don't want to waste my diet and sleeve room on carbs lol. I'm going to a dermo eventually, I'll get some answers if it doesn't go away soon. I am on pepcid and Vitamin ADK twice a day, so I've got the acid reflux covered. I'm just growing frustrated. I want to enjoy seeing myself shrink (I can't see it, yet.) And I'm distracted by that hideousness lol. Thanks for your input Chris. I wish so badly it was water temps.

When did you start having sex again

Crap. My poor boyfriend lol. We don't like condoms and we both don't want kids, so this extra fertility thing is a problem. I'll have to discuss it further with my surgeon and my OBGYN.

    Horrible Rash

Thank you, I hope so too! I wish the pack was longer, I suspect it would've helped if it was like a 2 week pack or so. Oh well haha I'll have to try to find that, pharmacies?
