why no soda??
This is the most important thing on this forum and in post op life but 90% of sleevers/RNY/WLS patients in general don't follow. If you weigh and measure all your food. You won't know how "stretched" your sleeve is or not. If you just rely on restriction to control your portions, eventually that control is going to be very different. I don't drink soda. I think it is basically a stupid habit at this point. I've had a couple rum and cokes since surgery. I've had some Mimosas. Carbonation does not hurt, it doesn't stretch your stomach. When people say this I seriously question their scientific understanding. Soda doesn't interest me, so I don't drink it. I will celebrate with Champagne for the rest of my life whenever I feel like it and I won't ruin the holy church of Brunch by not drinking a Mimosa with my meal (yes, I drink and eat every now and then*gasp*). However, I didn't do these things until I lost most of my weight and was around a year or more post-op. Sucking down soda in a newly minted stomach is just dumb and reckless but everyone who has surgery is an adult and can make their own choices, good or bad.

Feedback: Breast Lift with or without implant? Do you regret the lift without the implant and why? Thanks!
Everyone always gets a lift plus reduction. If you look around on real self, you can find people who get a lift without implants but with fat transfer, and they use your skin to make an internal bra. That way you can lift, and gain volume. That is the kind of lift I want. Big breast run in my family and I want to keep mine. I have always had large breasts and I am not interested in being anything smaller than a DD. Dolly Parton is my spirit animal.

Don't read if you will be triggered -Sad & upsetting post about a needless death
It was a tough read but honestly that one of the reasons I wanted to lose weight. Who cold carry me? If I needed to be rescued who could do it? It is just a reminder to be diligent about your health and not to take anything for granted. Glad you are okay, OP.

Popcorn.. when did you start eating it
Sometimes I wish I liked yogurt but I would starve to death on water before I eat it. I wasn't super crazy about it after surgery, but post-op it is nastiest thing on earth. The peanut butter Quest powder is really good. You can make awesome cookies with it. You can also make your own ice cream. I did, when I was less lazy and halo top was harder to find.

If you can sit then you should be okay. I assume you are going with friends. Do they know you are having surgery?

Boobies...ugh
It is hilarious because when you watch 600 lb life, those people are literally 1/2 a ton and they only lose 30 pounds in a month. And most of them are in the hospital that first month on a stricter diet than those of us at home. @ShelterDog64 I answered your age question in PM, don't want to give up too much personal information online. I know you have lost most of your weight, but you still aren't even a year post op. Plastic surgery prices and demand is lower in the fall/winter, which is why I picked that time to have my surgery. I really was shooting for Fall of 2017, but I think fall of 2018, maybe even 2019 might be better, it just depends. My skin has no snapback. I've had stretch marks since I was a kid just from growing. My skin just genetically is not very elastic, at least not in my body, face is amazing. The way I am losing and my fat is settling is really different the closer I get to goal. Like if there was only one surgery I could afford it would be arms. That is the must do, Everything else I can hide. For me, a breast lift is just vanity so I can go braless and wear strapless dresses. Men don't care what tits look like as long as they can touch them. Physically my breast do no bother me, especially since they are much lighter. My apron bothers me, it flop, but I don't get infections and I don't have issues with it. My belly button does get gross and I have to clean it carefully, but at the end of the day that is all something I can hide in clothes. As much as I would love to get my thighs done, people with thighs like mine don't end up with good results from thigh lifts. i would still never be able to wear short shorts of a bathing suit without shorts, so it is a waste of money. I think you might find when you get to goal, that things look and feel a little different. In your second year, you still might lose weight. Back when vets used to post here, a lot of people would comment that they lost another 5 to 10 pounds without trying. 5 or 10 pounds doesn't seem like a lot for heavy people, but once you are under 200 that is a size or worse a size and a half (being between sizes is the worst!) depending on where it comes from. If you get your body snatched and lose another 10 pounds from ????? on your body, you are diminishing your results. It is a lot of money to spend, better to wait and get it right than to do it and want a revision.

Airplane Seat Belt fits !!
It feels so great doesn't it? I used to be a business traveler and I had my own seat belt extended I purchased so I wouldn't have to be embarrassed and ask for one, I took a flight last year and not only did the seat belt fit, I was able to pull it super tight, and I had room in my seat!

Making Plans
I'm going to tell you straight up, unless this concert has seats where you can sit you are taking a good chance on passing out. You have a lot of energy post op, but you also fatigue very fast. Now mix that with a crowded place, heat and possibly standing on your feet. You are creating a dangerous mix. Eating very few calories, drinking the bare minimum of fluids and heat is a recipe for passing out. If you really want to go to this concert, try to have your surgery in June.

Popcorn.. when did you start eating it
@ShelterDog64 If you can control yourself with ice cream. Halo Top has a Red Velvet flavor. Luckily they seem to have a quality control issue. Sometimes it is amazingly delicious like a Southern Grandma made it, and other times it is just okay. Which prevents me from getting it all the time, Even if you can't control yourself and eat the whole pint, a pint of Halo top is minimal calories.

STALL! Am I done losing?
@Sosewsue61 Switching to fish for a day is always a good move, fish is lower in calories than other proteins, so you can eat more protein for less calories. It is a good method for stall breaking. If you like fish and you can cook it without adding a ton of calories.

Anyone get REALLY scared close to surgery?
@AmandaTherese My health had been good, even being super heavy and diabetic, I didn't really have issues. Then it all started tumbling very fast and I was/am still a young person. Once I saw those dominoes tumbling, I decided to stop kidding myself and do something drastic. I didn't have anymore time to waste. I was seriously damaging my body. I realized I was at the point I wasn't going to die fast, but very slowly, painfully with a diminished quality of life. I went from first visit to surgery in 8 weeks. If it wasn't for holidays and pre-op testing I could have done it in a month. When I was being checked in and got on the gurney, I had already looked death in the face during my cardiac clearance to qualify for surgery. I had no fears being wheeled back. Either I would die that day in surgery, or pretty rapidly post-op from a complication and I was fine with that. I wasn't interested in 15 years of living like and old person because I love cheeseburgers and milk shakes.

STALL! Am I done losing?
Increase your calories for a week, add 200 calories in protein and see if you start losing. I had a whole month, month 14 I didn't lose any weight, I thought I was done losing. I kept eating the same way and the weight started coming off again. During that month, I lost 2 dress sizes even though the scale didn't move. Our bodies take breaks to adjust.

Healthy Eating on a budget
What do you like to eat and not eat and what is your meal prep time like? If you could afford Hello Fresh then you should easily be able to afford regular groceries. Those delivery services are expensive. I'm single so I just cook for me, but I keep my food costs low by keeping my diet simple and clean. I don't make recipes. They require a lot of ingredients for the most part and few things that I am ever going to finish as a single person. I eat a cut of meat and veggies. i cook my meat either pan fried, baked or grilled. I eat various cuts of steaks, pork and fish. I create variety in the method of preparation and the spices. The one thing I do splurge on is spices and spice blends. I purchase spices at https://www.penzeys.com/ they have a lot of sugar free and salt free spice blends. I also like https://flavorgod.com/ spices. They are very large containers that last a long time. I order the packs and leave the unopened ones in the fridge to keep them fresh. I see people complaining a lot in my keto groups about the cost of keto, but it is only expensive if you are making a bunch of recipes and buying lost of specialty items. Eating clean is very cheap. I do make recipes every now and then, but even with that I buy one container of coconut flour a year from Sam's club, and 2 bags of almond meal a year from Trader Joe's.

Obesity Coverage Denied as a Pre-Existing Condition Under the New Healthcare Bill?
They are really just doing the most. I am really glad I had my surgery when I did and that I am basically healthy now. I have been toying with not getting down to a normal BMI because I don't feel it i necessary at this point, I just wanted to get my body fat to 30% or below but now I see normal BMI, is not going to be optional.
-
Obesity Coverage Denied as a Pre-Existing Condition Under the New Healthcare Bill?
Pre-existing is anything in your record. So if they have recorded her weight at any point she has had a BMI over 30 that is a pre-existing condition. If they make you give or document your weight for insurance like they do for life insurance then they will know you are obese. It doesn't matter if you have been treated for a pre-existing condition, just that you have it. http://time.com/money/4763609/pre-existing-conditions-ahca/ http://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-care/what-are-pre-existing-conditions-what-would-gop-bill-do-n754836 Whatever changes there are, they won't be immediate. So it is important for people to get in the best health they can if and before these changes ever happen.

Obesity Coverage Denied as a Pre-Existing Condition Under the New Healthcare Bill?
Obesity is anything BMI 30 or higher, not just morbid obesity. That means millions of Americans 36 percent of the population have a pre-existing condition now. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/databriefs/db219.pdf

Advice Needed
Tuna, chicken, crab, hard to digest. I wasn't cleared to have steak until 6 months, so I can't really speak on eating that at the point you are. Soft baked fish was the easiest thing for me to eat. Eggs I couldn't eat unless they were over easy. I still can't won't eat scrambled eggs. Have you tried any high quality deli meat like Boars Head?

Advice Needed
What protein are you eating? Are you cooking it fresh or reheating it? What is the moisture content of the meat?
