  1. Once I spend the cost of a 3 Series BMW to get my body right, I sure won't be getting fat again. Not only are the cases on the show extreme. The doctors are terrible. Also people don't tell how they lose weight and what their nutrition is like. That matters a lot how you end up in the end.
  2. She and that kid needed shrinks more than surgery.
  3. I agree. It's like they are scared to do some contouring. They only remove the skin and even then it's not enough. Do some lipo and sew up some muscles! The one woman at the end said she could finally see her progress at the gym and I felt bad for her because her arms still didn't look great...I couldn't see any muscle tone because they left too much skin. Or maybe she's still very swollen. What do I know? She looked terrible, it barely looked like she had skin removal surgery. These people are NEVER in the right compression garments after surgery!!!!! It drives me crazy. They just wrap them like mummies and call it a day. They are the worst examples of surgery and after care. They never lipo, they never shape. They do the bare minimum. This show is terrible to show people what skin removal can do for you.
  4. @@pamelardz91 Tonight I had dinner, and I got full by accident, I was eating out and not eating as slowly as I should have. I don't feel full, ever. When I am full I have hiccups, I keep having hiccups until my sleeve empties. I have never had that "omg I had 4 bites and I am stuffed" feeling. Everyone is different, your full might not be the same as your friend or me. You will learn what your full is, but probably not until after 6 weeks
  5. Last week's skin tight. I can't believe how had those young doctors are. They are never aggressive enough with skin removal. They leave a shelf on every tummy tuck and I don't even think they do muscle repair. They are so bad. They are making Dr Now look like a magician.
  6. If you guzzle a ton of Water fast you will feel full and feel all your restriction. That is not what you want though, not for a healing stomach. You don't want to stress your staple line. Are you saying you just never feel satisfied? Or are you missing the full feeling? Mentioned or physical satisfaction?
  7. The feeling is so different you might not recognize it. It does not feel like how being full felt before at all. At first for me, being full, which was really over eating, was hiccups. Remember being full is not a goal, being satisfied is.
  8. A lot of surgeons aren't requiring it now. In my opinion, I think it is a bad idea. I felt so exhausted and weak going into surgery after living on almost nothing for 2 weeks, then to continue living on nothing for almost 3-4 more weeks while healing. I understand the liver shrinking, and I understand that some people need to "prove" they are committed to the change. But it just seems counter productive to run people down, then slice them up.
  9. The best advice i can give to lowering the number of advances is to look "expensive" or "high maintenance". It lowers the number of men that talk to you, because most of them won't have the ego to do so. This works, fat or thin. I've always had men approach me, no matter how strong I think my resting bitch face is, they always talk to me, or at least eyeball me to all hell. If they compliment you, smile, say thank you and swiftly move away.
  10. @@pammyg7 Des Peres hospital staff are awesome. You don't have to take a lot with you, they provide everything. Good luck tomorrow.
  11. I didn't lose a lot on pre-op. Less than 10lbs mainly because it was like 100 degrees with 110% humidity when I was on it and I was retaining a ton of water. I am 6.3 months out and down 93 pounds. Hoping to lose another 70ish pounds before 1 year mark.
  12. i can easily bend over and touch the mat in yoga, I would have never been able to do it before, even being flexible because my stomach got in the way.
  13. I am interested in what the responses are. No one in my immediate area knows I had surgery, so I don't have the backhanded compliment issue.
  14. Stressful relationship with my mom. Kids can't drink scotch, so I ate food. I was never an obese kid, just a little overweight, but learning early to eat your feelings and hold them in instead of expressing them, just carried over into adulthood. As an adult, I kept eating my feelings, the good and the bad ones.
  15. I got all my clothes together and took them to goodwill, all of them, in the matter of a day or 2. It hurt because I had a lot of nice pieces but it felt great. I didn't keep one damn thing and I don't intend to keep anything. When I drop a size, I chuck all the stuff from the previous size. There is no going back and I want myself to mentally know that. I have enough before pictures of myself, and enough memories that I don't need to keep material things around as a reminder. I think it is an important mental and spiritual milestone to get rid of the old clothes all the told clothes. The friend that taught me this trick lost 200lbs without surgery and kept it off for years. I value their advice. Leave yourself no options to relapse and keep looking towards the future.
  16. My heart seems irregular and I has to have an EKG, a stress test and finally a cardiac cath, all for them to tell me my heart was normal . I had all those things completed in about 4 weeks. It took me 8 weeks from first Dr visit to surgery. If you have an open schedule to setup pre-op testing appointments you can move the process very fast if all you have to do is testing. If you have a job you have to work around, I don't know how people do it.
  17. I have had sushi 2x since surgery. It is amusing that it fills me up now, I was always annoyed with it before because it wasn't filling. I don't eat the rice. I suggest not eating the rice. You still need all your room for Protein. Enjoy the flavors skip the rice.
  18. I'm 6 months out from surgery but I am going give you some honest answers about where I am right now. I drink sooner than an hour after food. One reason is usually for me my food has emptied my stomach, for the most part what I eat doesn't sit in my stomach very long unless I have beef. I also eat my portions and not more, and I am not hungry. Yes you should wait an hour, but that won't always be the case, it definitely doesn't matter if you only had liquid for dinner. I don't go nuts chewing my food. I mostly eat things that are pretty soft anyway so it isn't necessary. The only time I have to make sure I really chew is if I have beef. I can almost guzzle water now. I can't chug 16 ounces at a time like I used to in one breathe, but after you have healed more at 3-4 months you can take bigger gulps closer together. I have no issue with drinking maybe 4 ounces in 30-60 seconds. It depends on the temp though. There is other alcohol in life besides beer. TLDR, the things that I thought were going to annoy me the most, chewing and drinking, at 6 months at a huge issue. I imagine at a year it won't even matter.
  19. No hoops but my BMI was high. Approved after being submitted in 7 or 10 days.
  20. I am 6 months, if I don't watch closely, I can easily do 1200-1300 calories without trying that hard. My goal is 750-850 a day, with 2 days allowed up to 1200. I was losing really fast at the end of last year and getting super flabby, so I went up to 1000-1200 to slow it down a little so my skin could catch up a little. At 750-850 calories, I lose 3-5lbs a week.
  21. I run my own business. I told my surgeon I was not giving up coffee. At first tour stomach is sensitive, so drink some high quality low acid coffee. Once you are further out, you can tolerate regular coffee better. When I first added coffee back, I used cold brew coffee ice and unflavored Protein powder.
  22. My taste buds never changed. When you can eat real food it will taste so delicious. The unjury Protein is probably the least flavorful protein powder I have had. The chicken soup tastes good, but anything with 1/2 a days worth of salt is going to taste good. Adding fruit means adding sugar. I mean one frozen strawberry to shakes isn't a big deal but if you add a lot of fruit you are just adding sugar. Syntrax Nectars taste very good and they have a variety of flavors. My favorite post op because I couldn't have coffee was Cappuccino. The lemon aid is okay, the strawberry is delicious and so is Caribbean cooler.
