Funny biz travel moment
@@SeahawksFan The real Chicago pizza story is thin crust, not deep dish. If you have time try to get some thin crust. Shrimp and sausage is awesome. Yeah I find that restaurants are really worried when you don't clean your plate. It makes me feel guilty. It was delicious I swear, I just wanted a little.

Ok, bit the bullet and ordered the book
It is basically like have a 2nd job that costs you money instead of earning it. It is a huge time sink, I keep thinking in the time I waste on dating I could start another company. @@FinallyFit50s I have met some guys in their late 20s that have good careers, Masters degrees, have disposable income and are willing to travel. All I want is an intelligent companion. A lot of the men I encounter in their 40s and 50s are going through mid life crisis and they have the maturity level of 18 year olds. I think they are attracted to me because I look more like 30 than my actual age.

Help i might have hurt my Stimson
Please go to urgent care in your area if they are still open, you can be seen faster than the ER in most areas, or go in the morning. At the very least someone there can refer you to another Doctor that will help you. Like so many people have said, it is probably stomach acid, but you should be seen by someone.

Carb amounts for pouch test?
You could use broth instead of soup and add protein powder to it

How long before you 'cheated'?
Well the great thing about a lifestyle change is there is no cheating. I cook a lot, so I have healthy low carb replacements for almost everything. When I go out I make good choices. When I do get things that i want as a treat, I find I eat one bite. I caved on Fat Tuesday and ordered beignets. It was a waste of money I had a single bite, not even a good bite, and I lost interest. That is what I find with most things. A taste is enough and I don't want more. I dont eat sugar when I do have things with real sugar my taste buds freak out and I don't really find it a good taste. That is kind of weird but I gave up sugar 3 years before surgery, so this isn't a new change. Mainly I don't eat things because it is a waste of money and I can save that money and spend it on clothes.

How long was your hospital stay?
26 hours. I wanted out of there as fast as possible. I walked all night and the next day when I got my the okay to eat, I attacked it with all the gusto I could find, which wasn't much. i have to be able to get a decent amount of my tray down to leave. The other people that had surgery on my floor were in bed the whole time, they never got up and walked. They complained about their pain the whole time. I wouldn't have been able to sleep well anyway. I could have stayed another night if I wanted to but I pushed to get out ASAP. If you have kids, I would probably stay in the hospital longer, unless they will really let you rest at home. You need the rest, even though you feel good, it is still major surgery.

Is my goal just a number I should let go of?
If she she is talking about this calculator... http://www.obesitycoverage.com/weight-loss-surgeries/gastric-bypass/how-much-can-i-expect-to-lose It is just an estimate on excess weight loss. It isn't the law. I think it is just useful for evaluating the differences between surgeries. People think that weight loss with bypass is massively more, when it really isn't. When you see the difference in print and think about the intestine reroute, I think it can help make a difference. When I read the OP, I was really hoping the OP came back with an update Anyway, that calculator says my expected weight loss is 225, but I am still 5 months short of a year, and I am within 40lbs of that that number, so I am sure I will blow right past it. Getting kind of excited because measurement/clothing wise I am going to end up much smaller than I thought at a higher weight.

Premier Strawberry Cream Shake Problems
I think there are bad batches some of the time. Or they sit too long and degrade. I have had this issue now and then. I would toss them to be honest. I don't think it is fixable. I try to consume mine within a couple weeks of buying them.

Must have pre-op shopping list
Find THIN Protein shakes and try those out. Don't get too much of anything, you don't know what you will like after surgery. I think that has less to do with changing taste buds and more to do with mood swings. Just do yourself and favor and find Protein Shakes you LIKE now, don't wait until you need them. Wireless bra that hooks in the front.

Physical jobs and time off
i would say 6 weeks. You can't lift for usually the first month, and your energy levels are not going to be high enough to work a job like that until about 6 weeks. If your job can accommodate you with light duty then maybe.

Pizza
Yeah I have been reading weight loss forums for almost 10 years and have never heard this story, ever. Or seen doctors talk about it, even when they tell their scare tactic stories. Stomach acid is way to strong for bread/dough to stick in the stomach long enough to prep for surgery. A real thin crust pizza will act like crackers in your stomach, so you have to be careful because you can eat a lot of it. Palermos is a good example of a pizza with a super thin crisp crust.

Losing very slowly - can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong?
You don't have to exercise to lose weight. You have to just take in fewer calories than you burn. At first, you lose weight faster not exercising, because you can intake enough calories to offset the natural deficit plus the additional deficit you make by exercising. When people get closer to goal and can eat more working out is more critical.

NSV shout outs
Moved my car seat up again. I have pretty long legs but it seems like I am moving me seat up every 2 weeks!

Three weeks out and can eat four ounces easily..normal?
Was it just straight tuna or was it tuna with Mayo? Did you eat it in 20 minutes or less? Just because you can eat more doesn't mean you should. You shouldn't even know you can have 4 ounces of tuna at 3 weeks because you shouldn't be trying it. Tuna is pretty hard to process. When I started on food I ate the recommended serving amounts, 2 ounces at a time, like my plan stated. There is no point in stressing your staple line. Also all those nerves in that area aren't even reconnected. Be careful.

When you read how low the qualifications to be one is, it all makes sense.

July Sleever
I have been stalled for two weeks. I am not worried about. I dropped a lot of inches, i know the weight is coming. My body adjusts to a weight, sits there and then more pounds fall off. This is like a 6 week cycle. If i go 3 more weeks then i will worry and go back to liquids until i lose again. I wish more July sleevers would post so we can all compare notes.

You are not a slow loser. You start at 262, you are not going to lose 50 pounds in a month. I lost about the same as you and I started 100lbs heavier. You probably could use more Protein, 60 is the minimu, 80 or 90 would be a better goal. Your weight loss isn't slow though, that NUT is an idiot. There is nothing wrong with Protein shakes as long as you get high quality. @@Kindle is totally right. Do not be so hard on yourself

Post-Op Exercise Plans?
I walk, do yoga and lift weights. I love Orange Fitess and really want to do it 3 times a week, but it is too far away, 45 minutes one way. My preference would be to swim laps, but their are no good pools in my area. I plan on buying a bike in the next couple of weeks and add bike riding in. I try not to make my workouts too intense. They stress my body and cause me to hold weight. I also find high intensity makes me ravenously hungry in the past. I hate posting in fitness threads as much as stall tgreads and what to eat threads. Everyone has different ideas and too much bro science comes up.

There are far too many guys in their 40s and 50s with small children. I like to date older but older men are kind of a bust. I want someone with freedom that can travel. I do not want children and a lot of guys my age do. I do not look late 30s, so lots of men in their mid 20s approach me. I never thought I would entertain them, but it looks like I'm headed to Cougar town. :-(

Which scale do you have and do you recommend it?Pros/ cons a new on,
I don't really trust the BMI of a scale or whatever. I get DEXA scans to track my fat percentage. Since I know from my first DEXA scan my bones are insanely dense, anything a scale tells me is going to be off. So I just wanted a scale that was accurate, really accurate, on hard wood floors that might not be even, all the time. I purchased http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Precision-Bathroom-Capacity-Technology/dp/B001KXZ808 I am still debating buying a more expensive scale that will auto update to an app. I decided for now, It isn't worth the extra $80-100 for that feature when I can just type it in when I am tracking my food in an app every day anyway. It takes 2 seconds and I get BMI information there if I want it. I'd rather spend the money on new clothes.

Steve Harvey
It amazes me that he has so many female fans considering how he treated his ex wife. He should be tarred and feathered.

Cardiac Clearance?
I had my surgery within 8 weeks of meeting my bariatric surgeon the first time. I had met with the cardiologist before I even met with my Dr. The whole heart drama is what pushed me to surgery. Keep us updated.
