  1. Really? Salad is a slider for me. I can basically eat endless amounts. What is in your salads?
  2. 2 years out, I eat a pound of meat a day 4-5 ounces at a time, plus other stuff.
  3. https://blossombariatrics.com/ Not cheaper than mexico, but honestly having 85% of a vital organ removed is not really the time to bargain shop. A lot can go wrong, and a sleeve done improperly is completely useless.
  4. I replaced my love of food with dressing as proactively as possible without looking like an actual street walkers, lol. Which is fun and challenging and keeps me motivated to maintain my weight loss. On a serious note though, you have to figure out why food comforts you so much. You are probably numbing some feelings with food, once you figure that issue out and tackle it, the rest is really easy. I was stressed all the time, I removed the things from my life that caused excess stress. I made peace with my childhood. I basically decided life was worth living and living to the max. WLS will not stop you from binging AT ALL, you can easily binge eat with WLS. And it might even be more satisfying because you get full on small amount but your stomch empties fast so you can mini binge all day. Work through the emotion issues or you will even up back where you started.
  5. My close friends know, and have mostly forgotten about it. My family including my college age child do not know. It was honestly shockingly easy to keep a secret. I would tell people but now, 2 years later there doesn't seem to be much point, my weight loss is just about like anyone else at this point, and I have to exercise self control and will power. I am glad I was able to navigate losing weight and surgery without other people projecting their feelings and expectations onto me. When I decided I did not want more than one child and had an IUD inserted I did not tell everyone, I just went and did it. I pretty much view WLS the same way.
  6. Just find shakes you like. You might need to have a shake now and then for the first 6 months, it is easier to have some that you like than doctoring them.
  7. Vitamin D deficiency will thin your hair out. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2835491/
  8. You don't have to follow any particular plan post-op. You want to focus on dense protein that is baked, broiled, grilled etc. Followed by veggies, green veggies. That is about it, simple clean eating.
  9. VS does not go up to a 44 band at all. Are you sure you are a 44 band? We are the same height, I am closer to 5'6 than 5'5 and at 207 I was a 36 or a 38 band.
  10. Did he look at the coverage options for all of the plans? I know people that are not managers at ATT that have WLS covered but they are not in Florida.
  11. Don't watch TV, it is full of food commercials. Go to bed early.
  12. GoFundMe isn't going to pay attention to a campaign that has only raised $125. They only fact check when it is thousands. If she wrote here what she wrote on GoFundMe, maybe people would have been more sympathetic. She came here like a crazed treasure troll. It could still all be a scam and she came here hoping to garner sympathy and get donations, but when people were not receptive to her story she abandoned it and went full nuke. Even considering her story is true. Of course the people in the hospital being treated for complications, well have complications and are miserable. She isn't talking to healthy people. So that is like going to a homeless shelter to look for a hedge fund manager.
  13. Best scale I have owned. Super accurate and mine came with a tape measure that you can use to measure yourself too. https://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Precision-Digital-Bathroom-Lighted/dp/B001KXZ808/ref=sr_1_8_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1501775025&sr=8-8&keywords=body+scale
  14. Try eating protein only ever 2 hours. 4 ounces of dense protein, something you have to cut with a knife. Steak, Chicken breast, pork chops, etc. Nothing ground, no deli meat. Something really dense that will sit in your sleeve. If you have a schedule and you know you are going to eat in 2 hours it is easier to resist temptation. Eating dense protein should sit in your stomach for a while so by the time you are feeling full, it is time to eat again. Liquids are just probably going to make you feel deprived and they don't trigger restriction. I mean if I drink a protein shake, I'm basically still hungry, it is no different than drinking water at this point. There is a regain forum also with other people having regain issues.
  15. You feel soft because your fat is breaking up. I used to think I had these massive muscles, but nope it was just solid fat. When I lost enough fat I could feel my muscles I knew the difference. The first 6 weeks are for healing. Not exercising not losing weight. Your goal is to heal. Walking is great exercise and will get you prepped to do more once you are healed. The muscles in your abdomen have been cut. The last thing you want is a hernia.
  16. When I was on my liquid pre-op and post-op diet. All I watched was Fat Dr UK and documentaries about how terrible our food supply it. It helped keep my mind off food and focused on what I was doing.
  17. If you are doing it just to look good, or mainly to look good you are going to be miserable. If you do it for health you will be more satisfied.
  18. You have to keep an honest account of what you are eating, even when you are eating poorly.
  19. First you probably are being sensitive. Hormones post-op are a mofo. Is your best friend a plus sized woman? As far as your husband, so many things could be going on there. This is a bad time to jump to conclusions or make rash decisions. First he could just be trying to support you in your weight loss by taking you places Previously you might have made him feel like you didn't want to go places and he made excuses to make that okay He could be insecure and feel like he needs to court you now to keep you. Men are visual, he might just be enjoying the new you. I love when my dog gets groomed he is super cute but I love him when he isn't groomed. When he is freshly groomed I dress him more than when his hair is long. It has nothing to with loving him less or more, it just is. You should be happy your husband still wants you. There are lots of people that post here, lose weight, and their husbands don't want them, ignore them and abuse them.
  20. It is going to vary by the person, their starting weight, how much they have lost, and how far they are from surgery. My whole vaginal/pelvic region is different after losing 1/2 my body weight. If you have a big belly now, one difference is you get a lot closer to someone when you have no belly. I was always high libido, that is unchanged.
  21. First you aren't low carbing if you are eating chips. Not at all. You are naming off what you eat but leaving out the chips? what is your real food log like? If you keep eating chips you are going to keep gaining. Chips break down to nothing. I could easily eat a whole family size bag in one sitting if I wanted to. When you are low carbing you have basically no glycogen in your system. As soon as you eat carbs your liver starts filling up with glycogen again. Instant basically over night weight gain. Weigh your food, track your food. This is the easiest weight loss is ever going to be for you in your life. Work with your sleeve, not against it.
  22. I don't actually have some curves, I have a lot of curves. My waist to hip ratio is .74 and I wear a 34G/F. My friend had RNY several years ago, and decided to stop her weight loss at 255 before she decided she was fine at that point but at 5'3, she still qualified for surgery and was still morbidly obese. Fast forward she has gained back to 300. All because she wanted to keep some curves. Meanwhile I am cuvier than her because my waist is well defined. My breasts stick of far past my stomach. Pam Grier is probably the best classic hourglass I can think of. Her body was amazing in the 70s, and she had a face to match. Her measurements were 40 28 40. I am not quite there. I need to lose a couple inches of my waist and hips to get there but that is what being curvy at a healthy weight looks like. No one in their right mind would ever say that she isn't curvy. You can still easily be a brick house at a normal weight.
  23. When I told my friends I was having surgery to lose weight. They all congratulated me on taking control of my health and supported me in getting healthier. Not one person said some dumb ish about my shape or how I would look or losing my boobs. People that really love you want you to live, and be around to share this life with them.
  24. @QueenTiff Currently I am smaller than I have ever been. I am smaller than I was when I was a freshman in HS, partially because I am just smaller and also because I am about 2 inches taller. I had no idea what to expect when losing weight because I had never lost more than 30-50 pounds and had never dropped a size really. I went from a tight size 28, loose size 30 to a perfect size 10 in almost all brands of dress. Size 8 top, size 10 on the bottom. You don't have your information filled out so I have no idea where you are starting or how long you have been large. I really never imagined I would be shaped like this, but now I am built just like my aunts and I actually fit in with my family. Just lose the weight and see where you are. Work out if you want to, go hard if you want to, but don't fear losing weight thinking you are going to lose your femininity. Also being curvy and "looking good" is not going to save someone from metabolic disease, diabtetes, heart issues, skin issues, etc.
