  1. Ok, I need some accountability from my friends here. I am starting to want to buy every cute running outfit I see, and I just bought a new pair of running shoes just so I can rotate between three, and of course they are all different colors so they match what I am wearing. I need to get a handle on this fast because this isn't like me. I can talk myself into buying these things easily by telling myself it is for a good cause, but really I don't need a different outfit for every day of the week and these are all summer outfits.

I am running late today. I just finished my run and I am supposed to be on my way to work. I need to hit the shower. I am glad I have confessed my sins to y'all...lol... have a great day.

If you are dropping weight it is so pointless. In the weight loss phase I bought as few clothes as possible while always keep clothes that fit. It is really important to have clothes that dit and aren't too big. Shoes though are my biggest problem. I'm between sizes still and nothing fits right it is really annoying. Just don't waste your money buying a lot at once, just buy something new when you drop a size. If you were high quality workout stuff/compression, you will notice the difference pretty fast.

  2. I have post op questions do you really be on a liquid diet for 3 months after surgery?

      OutsideMatchInside

If they are forcing you on liquids for 3 months, and selling you something like Optifast. I would look for another Dr.

Also, are they selling you this liquid diet you have to be on for 3 months or can you have any protein drinks you want?

Well if that is your plan, is there a reason for it? Did you ask your Dr? Are you sure it is 3 months, not 3 weeks?

  6. So Stuck

I am having a horrible time.  I had my surgery on 5/1 - and I am stuck - more than the 3-week plateau.  I just cannot seem to loose.  I am walking 3 miles 4 x per week, I am watching what I eat.

The last time I saw the surgeon they did one of those body analyzer scale tests that said I am swapping fat for muscle - but overall the scale is just not moving down - anyone else having the same issue?

  7. Its official, I'm tired of all my meals being either chocolate or vanilla flavor. I'm a salt person lol.  I have a dozen options to get creative with the shakes, and I've mixed it all. I'm out of options, and in three days I move to 48hr liquid diet anyways. Thankfully its Saturday, incredibly easy to stay occupied all day (the old me might have met friends for beer and food, but not anymore :D )  Only 9 more shakes to go and they are done until post surgery. YAY! My 48hr liquid diet includes "strained cream soup",this makes no sense to me, why strained? why cream? Its feels counter-intuitive to have something manufactured, that's high in fat and has crazy sodium levels. Does anybody else have this included in their pre-op diet or am I the anomaly?!

  8. I had gastric sleeve surgery in Mexico last July. I'm a bit disappointed that I've only lost 60lbs.

my one big big secret is I've done this all alone. Nobody knows, I mean nobody, not my husband, sister, anyone. You may be asking how did I do it. I told my family I could not come up to our cottage for a week. I booked the flight to Mexico and it all got done in a week. I can't tell my husband as he would divorce me. So this is the first time telling this story, hoping to get support from other sleepers.

  9. Watching 600 lb Life, Where are they now? And Dr Now just advised to revise to RNY because her WLS stopped, and he said that she stretched her stomach out. So I can see where the misinformation comes from. When the RNY people stop losing at this point, he tells them to stop eating trash. Then after he is done slicing and dicing her for the 2nd time, he says, if her weight loss slows again, we will know it is her diet. Well, no $%#@

    1. OutsideMatchInside

      OutsideMatchInside

Dr Now got divorced before 600lb life. He had to pay his wife out, he was semi-retired until he had to pay his wife of 27 years. So he got on this TLC gravy train. I really wonder if TLC pays his malpractice insurance because the rates have to be through the roof.

600 pound life is a huge cash cow for TLC.

I wanted to note that Dr Now has them on 1200 calorie diets post-op. Not that 800 that people seem to think is optimal weight loss.

I hate 600 pound life, but watching that and the 2nd season of skin tight gave me a new perspective on my weight loss and my loose skin. I am better off than a lot of people and I should be grateful for my progress.

I was cold for like the for the first year then my body regulated itself. I'm cold when everyone else is cold, it does take me longer than most people to get hot though.

  11. Had to stop watching the 2nd Season of Skin Tight. I feel bad about my loose skin, but nothing like these dramatic mofos. Geez. I hope they are just faking it for the cameras, No one should dislike themselves that much. Goodness. This show is so  depressing and they always are built like a box of bandaids afterward, not a curve in sight.

The girl with the awesome hair, her surgery results are lackluster. I wish they would get some better quality doctors on this show. And as Gucci would say "Well Damn", Dr Now did a better tummy tuck than the actual plastic surgeon.:lol: The girl with the nice hair had a better body to start than the other girl, but she needed a fleur de lis tummy tuck and didn't get one. Dr Now did a fleur de lis on this girl and her stomach is actually flat.

A lot more Doctors than you think give diet pills to WLS patients. It is more common than you think, especially for people far from surgery. Reckless but common.

Yeah but she is years out from gastric bypass. He didn't say he was giving her diet pills, but she let it slip because she said they were making her sick. Also I can't believe he told her 2 to 3 meals a day but I am not surprised. I have always felt his nutritional recommendations were trash, smoke and mirrors.

Oh snap she lost 24 pounds! Starvation works! She is still too fat for surgery, but Dr Now isn't a plastic surgeon so he doesn't care.

Ahhh Dr Now just told her to lose some weight. She weighs 235, and she regained 56 pounds. Dr Now told her to lose 20 pounds in a month. I'm not sure someone that weighs 235 can lose 20 pounds in a month. Her Dad said it was impossible. She might be able to lose 10 or 15 but 20, 10% of total body weight in a month, seems nuts.

I haven't seen them turn anyone away. I want to see what they are going to say to her. She is going to end up looking like Mama June by not losing enough weight first. Her face is still fat and her legs and everything else. The other girl is making herself miserable. She is like a size medium or a large and wearing 4XL to hide her skin. She better put some shapewear on and a bodycon dress. They just go out of their way to make themselves miserable on this show. I hope this crap is scripted.

I'm on season 2 episode 6 and this girl Kylie is looking for skin surgery but she still needs to lose another 50 pounds. Skin surgery shouldn't even be on her radar, she is no where near goal. If they give her surgery she is going to need more surgery if she ever loses any more weight.

I hope they are. I really hate to think people are walking around that miserable every day. I have moments with my skin but the longer I live with it, the less it bothers me.

I will say my skin is not like theirs though. I'm glad I have a lot of muscle mass left.

The 2nd season is better they have a better plastic surgeon this time than that dynamic duo they had last year. All their results were terrible. I think in episode 1 of season 2 he supposedly gave her a BBL, but there was no butt in sight. They blurred her butt before surgery but it must have been like Hank Hill for the after to be the desired result.

I hate the way TLC humiliates people for ratings, like the shower scenes on 600 pound life and showing these people doing all these activities with their skin flopping. No one does that for real, it would hurt too bad. When I run I wear compression on my thighs so they don't move.

Also these people not wanting to have sex because of skin, but they were having sex when they were whales. Get outta here.

It doesn't happen often. I don't think it is worth checking out because my perception is skewed. When I was morbidly obese, I sweated profusely. When I walk the dog in the sun, I sweat. So it isn't that I don't sweat at all, it is just difference between over sweating and normal sweating.

Yes, he is happy :) AC is fixed. Not like a hot flash, actually I would have no idea what a hot flash feels like. It is more I am building up to being hot, but nothing happens to relieve it. Like I feel I am warming up for a long time 30 to 60 minutes, then I am just over heated. Sweating is your body trying to cool down, my doesn't even try anymore.

I almost never sweat now, and it kind of sucks because I just go from normal to hot very fast with no warning. Also when it gets hot in my Apt I don't notice until my dog comes to me to complain. It was hot in here for hours before I noticed today,

Oh well then just start getting quotes. I wanted to get to a certain weight before I had any surgery because I want some fat transfers so I won't be losing after I have surgery but if you are self pay, you can get someone to do surgery on you. Do you want it in Chicago or are you willing to travel? Girl, PM me. I have a whole list of Drs for you.
