???????? prayers sentMy surgery is tomorrow! I'm so nervous. All the laundry is done. Clean sheets on the bed, bathroom rugs in washer. LOL...I have the nesting urge like I did before the girls were born. This nervousness is making me want to eat any and everything but I'm able to control it knowing it's just nerves. Pray for me please!

I believe I have the same insurance as you (bedwards32). So my good news is I just got approved today!! Just a little over a week shy of 3 months from start to finish. With all the changes in requirements I was a bit surprised. So this was my timeline and I hope it is of some help to you.
Information session May 28th. Consult with surgeon June 12. In preparation for my surgeon visit I put together as much information as I could find on my weight loss journey and put it in a log. Luckily when I changed doctors about 6 years ago my records were put on a disc and I was given the paper copy so I went through it with a fine tooth comb for anything to do with my weight history. I also had a record of every Weight Watchers visit for the past 2 & 1/2 years.) I did all the tests required and was finished with them by 7/23. The other thing that helped me is I have an auto immune disease and for the past 2 years I've been to the specialist at least every three months. His records were included in my submission. My packet was delayed going to the insurance for several weeks because the coordinator was on vacation which was very frustrating. It finally went 8/6 and I got the news today. I actually have a dietician visit scheduled for tomorrow so we will look at the calendar then and pick a date. She indicated it would probably be in the middle of September.
14 days and counting

Hello all
Well September is now knocking at our door. With all the appointments, phone calls and nail biting waiting for insurance approval it seemed to take forever to get here. Good luck to all of us.
-
Just wanted to check in again. All us September sleepers are getting super close. It's been a long journey and in so excited to just have it done. I'm thankful for the conversations we all have on here as I don't have much support at home. Well let's stay excited! September 23rd 3 days after my birthday and my greatest present to myself by far!!!!
A great gift for sure!!! If you aren't already in our FB group I highly recommend it! We have a great group of about 40 people now! But we are right here too!
How do you join the Facebook page and is it private. Thanks

I am also having surgery on 9/14. The Protein powder I'm using is from Thorne research laboratory (chocolate and vanilla) . My doctors office sells it discounted. It's pretty good. I only have a 3 day pre op diet. Right now they advise 1-2 Meal Replacement Protein drinks per day. Low carb diet for other meals. Eat Protein first and no drinking with meals. Exercise at least 4 X week. They also have me taking Calcium chloride and Vitamins with Biotin and zinc. I have to attend a pre-op class on the Sept. 3rd. To prepare for post op I've purchased unflavored and chicken Soup flavor Protein Powder.Hello my surgery is going to be the same dayas you. I have tostart with my diet on the 31 of this moth , what do you use?

Hello all,
I just found this thread last night. I'm happy to report that I'm scheduled for 9/14. I just have two visits to the doctors left. A pre op nutrition class and to see the surgeon. It's all a bit surreal. I was on the fence about a date for so long because I did not have the 6 months nutrition but I did have 6 months of weight watchers plus very good doctors notes. I really thought I would be denied but thankfully the coordinator said we have nothing to loose but try so she sent it in August 6th and the day before my birthday I got the news it was accepted. "Happy Birthday to Me"!!!

If it was me I would go earlier. Also check with your doctor about flying so close to surgery. My friend doctor won't do surgery within a month of flying due to risk of clots.

Is he repeating the test in a month? If you continue to have concerns I would recommend going to see a gastroenterologist/hepatobiliary doctor.
