  1. Protein powder is very sensitive to high heats. Too hot and it clumps.
  2. I am on metformin and cut the pills.
  3. I am on clear liquids for one week, then full liquids for two weeks, then blended and soft for three more.
  4. Probably a stupid question... Just after surgery when you weren't sleeping in your bed but in a recliner or something of the like, did you move your CPAP too? Or just go without?
  5. December 22nd here as well.
  6. Just the unknown. Every test I have done during this process has turned into more tests. So nervous for what if it came back bad. However that being said, the echo and stress test came back "completely normal."
  7. I am so nervous I am about to cry.
  8. I know that. Its just frustrating. I have support from everyone in my life that I feel like its not just letting me down but all of them. I know that's a good problem to have but its still a problem. Plus, I have been on the pre-op diet twice now and let me tell you its harder the second time.
  9. Blood work was good. EKG was not. Going today for an echo and stress test. I swear I am never going to get to have this done. I know people in worse condition get this surgery, so how come they can get it but I keep getting road blocks??? So frustrated right now.
  10. So I am tentatively scheduled for surgery on Dec. 22, pending cardiac clearance. I was originally scheduled for October but postponed due to blood tests. The first time I didn't cheat at all on the 2 week diet. This time I seem to be hungrier and more prone to nibbles. I've been not so bad and kept my nibbling to fruit and yogurt. Why is it so hard the second time around? That wanted me to w 13lbs the first time and I have lost 25 as of yesterday. Keep your fingers crossed I get the clearance after my echo and stress test tomorrow.
  11. Echo and stress test scheduled for Tuesday. Cardiologist is optimistic, me not so much.
  12. My appointment is at 2 today. Here is hoping he will clear me, surgery as of now I'd scheduled for 12/22.
  13. When I started this journey I though I wad fast with HBP. During this process we found diabetes, sleep apnea, high cholesterol. Went today for the EKG and it was abnormal! I want to go into a hole and cry. I am beginning to think this surgery will never happen.

  15. They are doing some more blood work and if all clear I am good to go for surgery on 12/22. The doctors office said I didn't need to fast but that seems strange. The surgeon ordered: CBC, CMP, A1C, and EKG. Should I fast? And if so, how long?
  16. Doctors move SOOO slow. Or am I just in a hurry? Ready to get back to moving forward.
  17. I hope so, going to call on Monday.
  18. Got my results back already. My sugar was a bit high but not high enough to worry over and my triglycerides were at 270 down from 1070. ????
  19. My PCP has put me on 2 meds and I have continued on a modified form of the pre-op diet I was on. I started all this on 10/26. He wants to see what kind of progress we are making since triglycerides are highly influenced by diet and can change significantly in 1-3 months. I assume I will have monthly blood draws until they are low enough for surgery. According to my surgeons office he wants them around 300 before he will do it.
  20. Went ahead and scheduled my blood draw for tomorrow morning. That way its not hanging over my head during Thanksgiving and shopping.
  21. I go next week for another blood draw to see if my numbers are in the range they want them in. Then hopefully they will reschedule. I figure it won't happen until 2016.
  22. The 1100 was the repeat number. My PCP was out of the office when it all happened and so another doctor in his office handled it all. They are the ones who wrote the clearance letter and stated why they felt I should be allowed to have it.
  23. So I was supposed to have my sleeve surgery on October 27 and they day before it was cancelled. My pre-op blood work showed my triglycerides at 1100, which is VERY high. My PCP signed off on it as my other numbers were fine. They surgeon even said that. However, they said even though the PCP cleared me the surgeon wants the triglycerides to around 300 before he will do the surgery. My PCP and all those around me are mad that it was cancelled the day before for something the surgery will help fix. Can anyone tell me what the concern was? The surgeons office didn't say much. He is a well respected surgeon in an office that people travel from around the country to see. I know the healthier I am the better things will go, but it has been a soul crushing experience. I am SO confused. Do I need to look at a different surgeon? Or should this boost my confidence in him since he wants me to be healthier?
  24. Well I was scheduled for surgery today and it was postponed indefinitely yesterday. ???? My triglycerides were very high on the lab work and they want me to get that under control first. Who knows how long it will be til that happens. Any ideas on how long with diet changes and meds that I will see improvement?
