Met with my PCPs office today. They are redoing to blood work on that test. According to those results my triglycerides were over 5000. She said unless had Crisco in my veins that wasn't possible. All need is this person to write me a letter of medical clearance so I can get my surgery Tuesday. So frustrating!

I'm sure it's a typo from the lab or something, going to the Dr. Thursday. Hopefully get it straightened out then since my surgery is Tuesday next week.

She said 790. Which when I look online comes up as a billing number.

Just got a call on my labs. Said my HDL, LDL, and triglycerides are al good but my total cholesterol is 790!?!?! Can some help explain?

I have UHC and it couldn't have been easier. I need ed 6 months doctor supervised weight loss and either a bmi of 35 with an issue or 40 without. No psych visit needed. I have done more pre-op testing for the Nicholson Clinic than for my insurance company.

I am a lifer. I have been overweight since I was 6 and I am now 40. Surgery is scheduled for October 27 (YEAH!). Can anyone with a similar back story let me know how you have faired with the surgery and skin issues? I know skin is supposed to bounce back but mine has never been where it should be. Thanks!

What vitamins does the Nicholson Clinic recommend/require post sleeve?

Seems SO far away!!! I know it's really not but it feels like it is. Any tips on what I should be doing to prepare in the meantime?

Just had my egd this morning and have my surgery date of 10/27. When and what should I expect for the ekg?

Got my surgery date today of 10/27. I was given two options that were earlier but this date worked best for a variety of reasons. Can't wait!!! EGD in the morning.

So, I don't own a scale. Haven't in a long time. I got tired of my scale being about 4 pounds off of every other scale I would weigh on. It occurred to me that I might want to get one now so I can follow my progress at home and not just at the doctor visits. Can anyone recommend a quality scale?

Apparently my insurance had to see if it would work first.

Had my second sleep study with a mask this time on Sunday, how long does it normally take to hear about the equipment and if insurance will cover it?

They said Dr. Carlton is about 3 weeks out. Told me with my EGD fate of 9/10 I would probably be looking at the end of September or Early October for my surgery.

Now the question is, when is it okay post-op? I love me some egg drop soup. ????

I want a tracker, where do I get one?

My EGD is the 10th so I suspect I will get a call to schedule it around the 16th or so. I was told my surgeon schedules about 3 weeks out so probably early October as I have a road trip planned the last weekend in September. I am using Dr. Carlton with the Nicholson Clinic.

Got a call today to schedule my EGD. Was told that a few days after that test I would get a call with the results and to schedule my surgery. I was also told my surgeon is scheduling about the weeks out from the call date. So looking early October. EGD is September 10th due to my work schedule.

Knowing that sleep apnea can cause other issue or make them worse like HBP, has anyone seem improvements there and not just in their sleep patterns? How long did it take to see those improvements?

I received approval yesterday after only a week without these added issues. I told my PCP that with the way things are going I am going to be diagnosed with a hiatal hernia after the EGD and heart failure after the EKG. He laughed and told me it would be fine. So for the interim a CPAP and metformin it is.

Received my approval today!!! Yeah only took a week with UHC. I've been told I will get a free phone calls about pre-op testing and then scheduling the date. Yeah!!! SOOOO ready to move forward with this.

Just got diagnosed with sleep apnea today. How much does the CPAP trend to cost? With insurance?
