  1. Hi Mico you are doing fine. You have made feel a bit ashamed that I don't do more exercise so I have started couch to 5 k ! It's only the first week but I am enjoying it which I did not think I would. I am probably 6 stone lighter than the last time I tried to run so that probably explains it. Good luck for the next week but I am sure you won't need it !
  2. Yes I wish I had done it sooner. 5 years ago or so I looked into the lap band but decided against it, fast forward to this time last year more weight on and feeling so miserable and depressed. I bit the bullet and got on with it and as a self payer was able to get my op sorted . So glad I did this!
  3. I am sure you will be successful. Don't try and do too much too soon when you return to work. At the end of the day you have had an operation and you need time to recover. All the best for the next few days and beyond !
  4. Your stats are very similar to mine. I had my op 16 July 2015 and I'm down over 80lbs. You will do great once you get home and get into the new routines
  5. You will do just great. The worst bit of the whole thing is over now. You will soon feel very pleased and relieved its behind you Kind thoughts coming your way from me here in Wales
  6. Im not a big fan either, but since I had my op last year Ive lost over 84 pounds and the exercise is so much easier now. I walk my dog twice daily and just going up the hills is so much easier now Im not carrying a sack of potatoes on my back. Exercise helps to change your shape, Im even thinking about doing a 5k race! All the best
  7. Im with Jamie Logical on this, I would never get all my protein in otherwise.
  8. Yes I must say that being to walk into normal shops and buy normal sizes is just fantastic. I have given away so many clothes and I still do a double take when I catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror in a store when I am not expecting to see myself. Emotional eating can get me too, but I'll tell you something I don't get so upset and agitated like I used to do. My daughter says I am the calmest coolest person she knows !!! Enjoy your holiday Chris
  9. Really pleased you had your op and that you are doing ok. It's onward and downward for you now
  10. Hi I'm so glad that all is going well for you. I can remember writing to you when we were both at the start of our journeys. You are ahead of me by a little but I am happy to report that I am under 12 stone and fit into size 14 at Next which is an absolute dream for me. In 5 weeks I will be going to n Cyprus and I will be over 6 stone lighter than I was when I went last year. I've been slow and steady, and I too have the loose skin but I'm a good bit older than you so I won't be doing the plastic surgery thing. Anyway just wanted to reach out and say very well done and yes you are right life is good !
  11. Hi I'm in Pembrokeshire and I had my sleeve last July 16 th in Carmarthen. Best thing I ever did. Down 86 lb and I can wear size 14 Next which seems like a dream to me. All the very best for your op you will be so glad that you did it. PS this web site really helped me and there is loads of info about the stalls, yeah you will have at least one, all the different stages of eating, protein goals etc Good luck Chris
  12. Totally agree with golden girl
  13. I too read the Andy butler book called because I was fat . I read it just before I went to see the surgeon. Please go ahead and have the surgery. WLS has changed my life and I am so happy I did it
  14. What a wonderful weight loss very well done
  15. Jamie you look fantastic you must be so pleased. I had my sleeve 16 July 2015 it's the best thing I have ever done for myself !
  16. Well done you are looking good. I was sleeved 16 July 2015 down 85 pounds
  17. To weightisover. Great name by the by! You are never too old to get fitter and healthier. I looked into the band 5 years ago and let neighsayers put me off. Last year when I reached 252 and got the news that I was to be a grandma I knew I could not carry on as I was. I'm so glad I had the sleeve and I think all of us grannies are too. I have no regrets at all. Let us know how you get on and don't be too nervous we are all waiting for you on the losers bench !9
  18. Great work there. I was62 when I had my surgery July 2015 I'm down 85 pounds and I am so glad I did this. Let us know how you get on
  19. Hi Annie I had my op with BMI in Carmarthen back in July 2015. It's the best thing I have ever bought! I have lost 85 lb and would like to make it to 100 lb by my first year. Hope all going well for you Chris
  20. I sometimes feel that way too. I had my op in July 2015 and am down over 80 lb. I look in the mirror and I see the flabby arms and tummy but hey most of the time here in UK we are covered up ! I look soooo much better now in my clothes and I never thought the day would come that I could fit in size 14 UK Next jeans and also their dresses. So pleased for your weight loss, where are you in the UK. I have never yet actually met anyone who has had the sleeve!
  21. Just to say good luck with your surgery folks. I had mine done last year in Carmarthen and so glad I did. Let us know how you get on
  22. You look brilliant but if you want to go lower then do it. Might as well get the benefit of the honeymoon period!
  23. To be honest I did not have much pain at all apart from the gas of course. On the Friday I was walking about and I left the hospital on the Saturday. The worst bit was having to inject blood thinning agents into my stomach. However my other half did a great job of being nurse as I had to do this for 14 days
